Spring Recruiting Party: High-profile recruits expected in Eugene over the coming weeks

Between now and the end of April, some of the best prospects in the nation will be taking visits to Oregon.

It feels like the world of college football is starting to wake up from hibernation. Since the start of February when national signing day took place, there hasn’t been much going on in the news cycle. Recruiting has been on a dead period, the transfer portal window was closed, and spring football was still weeks out.

However, that’s starting to change. The Oregon Ducks start spring practice later this week, and recruits from all over the country are starting to flock to Eugene, with a number of high-profile visits announced over the next few weeks.

Of course, the biggest recruiting weekend for Dan Lanning and Co. will be on April 29th with the annual Spring Game bringing the likes of 5-star QB Dylan Raiola, 5-star KJ Bolden, 5-star Dylan Stewart, and the entirety of the Elite 11 Camp to town. There are some incredibly important visits taking place between now and then as well.

Below are the scheduled visits that we have confirmed will take place in the months of March and April so far. Of course, more will be added to the list as time goes on.

5-star edge rusher Dylan Stewart sets visit with UGA football, others

The Georgia Bulldogs and eight other schools will receive a visit from class of 2024 edge rusher Dylan Stewart this spring.

Five-star pass rusher Dylan Stewart is visiting nine college football programs this spring. Stewart is set to visit the Georgia Bulldogs on March 31. He also plans to visit Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee, Oregon, Colorado, South Carolina, Penn State and Michigan.

The Georgia Bulldogs football program extended a scholarship offer to Stewart in May 2022.

Stewart plays high school football for Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington, D.C. Stewart is the top-ranked class of 2024 prospect in the D.C. region. Stewart is ranked as the fourth-best edge rusher in the country and the No. 28 recruit.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound defender has visited Maryland, Rutgers and South Carolina. Stewart has already committed to play in the 2024 Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando, Florida.

Stewart will continue to add to his frame throughout the remainder of his high school career. He shows impressive bend when rushing the passer.

On3 ranks Dylan Stewart as the No. 1 player in the class of 2024. The five-star pass rusher has over 30 scholarship offers.

2024 five-star EDGE Dylan Stewart locks in Colorado visit

Another five-star recruit is set to visit the #cubuffs this spring

What Deion Sanders has done in Boulder is terrific. Once again, the Colorado Buffaloes are in the running for a five-star player, and this time it’s class of 2024 EDGE Dylan Stewart.

Stewart has visits to nine schools scheduled for this spring and he is coming to Boulder on April 21, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. Stewart will also visit the following schools, in order: Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia, Penn State, South Carolina, Oregon and Tennessee.

Stewart is the top-ranked player in the 2024 class, per On3, and brings a ton of talent to the table. Once again, the Buffs being on this list shows how quickly things have changed.

Stewart is currently at the Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington D.C. and also had offers from plenty of other programs, including Maryland, Florida, Washington and Notre Dame.

According to MaxPreps. Stewart had eight sacks in six games as a junior and he still has one full year of high school left before heading to college.

The Buffs have been a regular in the hunt for highly-ranked prospects, and Stewart would be another massive addition to a defense that has five-star CB Cormani McClain heading to Boulder this fall.

5-star EDGE Dylan Stewart locks in visit for Oregon’s spring game

5-star Dylan Stewart — the No. 1 overall player in 2024, per On3 — will be in Eugene for Oregon’s Spring game.

The 2024 recruiting cycle is starting to heat up, and the Oregon Ducks are at the center of the action, as per usual.

With the recruiting dead period now behind us, we are expecting to see a number of visits from recruits to Eugene over the next several weeks as spring ball gets underway. We most recently got word that 5-star EDGE Dylan Stewart will be in town at the end of April, coming to Eugene for Oregon’s annual spring game.

Stewart is rated as the No. 28 overall player in the 2024 class per the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 4 EDGE in the nation. However, according to On3, Stewart is the No. 1 overall player in the 2024 class.

We don’t have a lengthy list of prospects who will be in Eugene for Oregon’s spring game just yet, but with word that the Elite 11 Camp will be hosting a regional at Sheldon High School that week, you can expect there will be star-studded crop of players in town to check out the Ducks.

No. 1 2024 recruit set to visit Michigan

Let’s hope the visit goes well! #GoBlue

Michigan football reeled in a solid class during the 2023 cycle, but the Wolverines have a chance to get a really, really great class in 2024 if they can hit on their top targets.

The maize and blue failed to get a quarterback in the 2023 cycle, but Michigan is putting all of its cards in on getting a commitment from 2024 five-star Jadyn Davis.

It also appears Michigan is trying to get traction on Dylan Stewart, the new No. 1 overall recruit in the On3 rankings. The Washington (D.C.) Friendship Academy standout is an edge rusher who was recently named the top overall prospect in the country by the site.

Here is what the On3 scouting report says about Stewart.

Scouting Summary: Disruptive pass rusher who looks to be one of the top edge prospects early on in the 2024 cycle. Shows a quick first step. Fires off the ball with the ability to quickly redirect with lateral agility. Dips and bends around the edge, showing some encouraging flexibility and curvilinear movement. Also plays low and gets underneath the pads of opposing offensive linemen. Has good size and stature checking in at 6-foot-4.5, 211 pounds with a 81-inch wingspan prior to his junior season. Will need to continue progressing from a strength and technical perspective as he continues through his high school career.

According to On3’s EJ Holland, the No. 1 player is set to visit Michigan next month.

While Stewart is the No. 1 overall recruit in On3’s rankings, 247Sports differs. According to its composite, Stewart is a five-star but comes in 28th.

Michigan appears to be competing with South Carolina, Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State and other suitors for the five-star talent.

Michigan has seven commitments in the 2024 cycle, and the Wolverines have the fifth-ranked class so far.

Alabama set to host several key targets for upcoming Junior Day

Alabama already had one of its Junior Day’s in January. The Tide’s next Junior Day will be this weekend and a handful of elite prospects are expected to be on campus.

Alabama will be hosting its second Junior Day this weekend. The Tide’s first Junior Day took place on the last weekend in January.

Thus far, Alabama has four commitments for the 2024 recruiting class. Cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe, wide receiver Perry Thompson, edge rusher Sterling Dixon, and quarterback Julian Sayin are those committed to Alabama at this time.

With Alabama having one of its best recruiting classes in school history just last season, it will not be easy to replicate. However, the Alabama coaching staff has hit the ground running recruiting some of the nation’s top recruits in the 2024 class as well as a few in the 2025 class.

Roll Tide Wire will take a look at some of the prospects that will be in Tuscaloosa for Junior Day this upcoming weekend.

Every EDGE Texas has offered in the 2024 recruiting class

Sooners offer one of Washington D.C.’s best players in defensive end Dylan Stewart

The Sooners extended an offer to one of D.C.’s best defenders in 2024 edge Dylan Stewart.

Much has been made about the Oklahoma Sooners being more active in the southeastern part of the country and with good reason. There’s a lot of talent in the southeast.

However, it may surprise some that the uptick in offers to athletes in the Mid-Atlantic region has also gone up. It makes sense for this team considering defensive tackles coach Todd Bates has had success that same region, landing Bryan Bresee, the number one overall player in the class of 2020 while still at Clemson.

Now that he, Miguel Chavis, and head coach Brent Venables are at Oklahoma there’s no reason to believe they’d stop mining the area for talent. With that said, one of their newest offers to four-star edge Dylan Stewart out of Washington D.C.’s Friendship Collegiate Academy should shock no one.

Stewart is built in the mold of how the Sooners want their defensive ends to look. Long, lean, and a frame that can withstand added weight. Stewart is will only be a junior on 2022 and already is 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds. He displays the versatility to play inside and out but looks like a prime candidate to be a certified edge in college.

Stewart becomes the ninth edge the Sooners have offered in the 2024 class and the sixth edge in the top 150. Miguel Chavis looks to be the primary recruiter in this recruitment going forward with the likelihood that Todd Bates backs him up.
