College GameDay makes their Notre Dame vs. Ohio State and Week 4 picks

Does this shock you Irish fans?

If you didn’t know, [autotag]Notre Dame football[/autotag] hosts Ohio State on Saturday evening and ESPN’s College GameDay made the trip to South Bend as well.

The group of analysts that include [autotag]Desmond Howard[/autotag], [autotag]Pat McAfee[/autotag], [autotag]Lee Corso[/autotag], and [autotag]Kirk Herbstreit[/autotag] made their selections for the week, along with actor and Irish fan [autotag]Vince Vaughn[/autotag].

As one of the biggest weekend in college football, it shows how important this game is on the national scale. The winner will have a leg up in gaining a College Football Playoff berth, with an early season signature victory.

Find out below which teams they believe will come out victorious this weekend.

Vince Vaughn and College GameDay crew make their Penn State-Iowa picks

Vince Vaughn and the ESPN College GameDay crew have made their picks for this top 25 Big Ten matchup.

ESPN’s traveling college football pregame show, College GameDay, kicked off a big Week 4 of college football from Notre Dame’s campus. Notre Dame is hosting Ohio State in a primetime matchup on Saturday night in a game carrying early-season playoff implications. But at the same time the Fighting Irish and Buckeyes are clashing in South Bend, Penn State will be in a Big Ten defensive battle with Iowa in Beaver Stadium for the annual whiteout game. On a loaded day of college football, Penn State and Iowa is a top-25 matchup on the big game lineup for the day for the College GameDay crew to go on the record on the agenda for the College GameDay predictions.

Today’s celebrity guest picker was actor Vince Vaughn, a noted Notre Dame fan. Naturally, Vaughn picked his beloved Irish to knock off the Buckeyes. But who did he and the rest of the College GameDay staff pick in the Penn State-Iowa game?

Desmond Howard picked Penn State. “There’s no way that Penn State’s going to lose this ballgame.”

Pat McAfee picked the home team, perhaps learning his lesson form picking against Penn State in a primetime matchup against West Virginia in the season opener (he’s a WVU guy though, so we’ll give him a pass here).

Vaughn picked the Nittany Lions.

The one and only Lee Corso picked Penn State, although the graphic accidentally put up an Iowa logo for his pick. Kirk Herbstreit also picked Penn State, and he kept his analysis pretty simple. The whiteout atmosphere will be more than enough to lead Penn State to a win over the Hawkeyes, according to Herbstreit.

Penn State hosts Iowa at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ makes its Week 3 picks

Can you smell who The Rock is picking?

ESPN’s “[autotag]College GameDay[/autotag]” is on the road once again, this time taking the show to Boulder, Colorado, as the Buffaloes welcome in Colorado State.

The broadcast crew of [autotag]Desmond Howard[/autotag], [autotag]Lee Corso[/autotag], [autotag]Pat McAfee[/autotag] and [autotag]Kirk Herbstreit[/autotag] made picks for Week 3. The celebrity guest picker doesn’t need any background information, but here it is anyways: WWE, actor, former Miami football player [autotag]Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson[/autotag] joined the crew to make the selections.

Find out below which games were on their slate along with who each believes will win in Week 3 of the 2023 college football season.

Desmond Howard on Clemson’s place on the panic meter

Should there be panic after Clemson’s Week 1 loss? Desmond Howard doesn’t think so yet.

As you’ve likely heard all week, Clemson dropped their opener 28-7 against Duke in a devastating loss that has resulted in a ton of discussion about the program and where they are heading.

During ESPN’s College GameDay show, Desmond Howard shared his thoughts on Clemson’s brutal loss and where they stand on the panic meter right now. It was a tough showing in Week 1, but Howard isn’t overly worried about the Tigers right now.

“I don’t think you should really panic that much,” the analyst said. “Now, there’s concern. The concern is they could not score in the red zone. They moved the ball very effectively against Duke’s defense. But when you turn over the ball, blocked field goals, and fumble… I think that could change the game, just one of those: a touchdown, a field goal. So, I don’t think that the panic should be that great right now in Clemson. But they didn’t look great against Duke.”

Howard isn’t wrong; this game could have gone completely differently if the Tigers showed some competence in the red zone. While experiences like that are no fun for any of us, there were some positive signs in the performance.

The Tigers look to bounce back today against Charleston Southern at 2:15 p.m. on the ACC Network.

ESPN College GameDay makes their picks for Week 2 including ND at NC State

Do you agree with their picks this week?

[autotag]ESPN College GameDay[/autotag] follows the biggest games of the college football season and although [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] visiting [autotag]NC State[/autotag] is a big game, they aren’t on location with the Irish.

The crew is in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where the Crimson Time are hosting the Texas Longhorns in one of the biggest games of this young season. The regular analysts were back, [autotag]Desmond Howard[/autotag], [autotag]Lee Corso[/autotag], [autotag]Pat McAfee[/autotag], and [autotag]Kirk Herbstreit[/autotag] make their picks for the biggest Week 2 contests.

They were joined by former Alabama and NY Jet quarterback [autotag]Joe Namath[/autotag] to help choose who was going to win this week. Check out below who they believe is going to come out victorious this weekend.

Who do you having winning the big game this weekend Buckeye fans? #GoBucks

Although ESPN’s [autotag]College GameDay[/autotag] was live last week, it was a bit watered down due to having just a few games on the Week 0 slate.

This week feels much more like a college football weekend, [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] back on our screens, a full slate of games that started on Thursday night that carried over on Friday, the natural Saturday, along with a few games on Sunday and Monday as well.

The GameDay crew live from Charlotte, North Carolina, welcomed back [autotag]Lee Corso[/autotag], who missed week 0, and he made picks for this weeks top games along with [autotag]Desmond Howard[/autotag], [autotag]Pat McAfee[/autotag] and [autotag]Kirk Herbstreit[/autotag]. Country music star [autotag]Darius Rucker[/autotag] joined the panel as a guest picker.

Find out below which teams they picked to win this week including Ohio State.

ESPN’s College GameDay crew made their College Football Playoff predictions

Who will make the CFP this season? The College GameDay crew made their predictions.

Ladies and gentlemen, we did it.

The 2023 college football season has officially kicked off with Week 0 starting Saturday with seven games played. It was great to get college football back on our screens as we now look forward to seeing the Tigers on the field for their September 4 matchup with the Duke Blue Devils.

To open the season, the ESPN College GameDay crew not only made their predictions for the ACC champion in 2023 but their College Football Playoff predictions as well. How do Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit, and Pat McAfee see the CFP playing out?

Let’s start with Desmond Howard, who has been comically bad with his CFP predictions for the past two seasons. Howard was far less ridiculous with his choices this season, choosing Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, and Texas in the final four. He chose his alma mater, Michigan, to defeat Alabama for the national championship.

Herbstreit and McAfee chose the same four teams: Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State. Herbstreit chose Bama over Ohio State, and McAfee chose Bama over Ohio State for the national championship.

What do you think? Personally, I believe an ACC team returns to the CFP. I lean toward Clemson, but there is a real chance it is Florida State. The 2023 season is off to a great start, and we cannot wait to see the Tigers back on the field.

He’s done it again: Desmond Howard picks Texas A&M as a ‘dark horse’ in the 2023 CFB Playoffs

After picking Texas A&M to make its first CFB playoff appearance last season (I know, know,) Desmond Howard remains a fan of the Aggies.

The 2023 college football season is officially underway, as Week Zero presents several interesting matchups, but let’s be honest, next weekend’s Week One slate is when the real action begins, including Texas A&M’s season opener vs. New Mexico inside a packed Kyle Field to kick off Jimbo Fisher’s redemption tour.

Within the exciting return of the always entertaining College GameDay on ESPN, the charismatic Heisman Winner Desmond Howard is apparently the antithesis of CFB foresight, predicting the Aggies to make the 2022 College Football Playoffs, who, as we all remember, went an embarrassing 5-7 (2-6 SEC) last season; leading to an offseason of ridicule and recycled jokes galore.

However, Jimbo Fisher’s 2023 roster is filled with a bevy of talent and experience, including a bulk of the historic 2022 recruiting class who endured their own “baptism by fire” last season due to extensive playing time amid a rash of injuries and poor play. This all leads to Howard’s 2023 CFB Playoff picks, including Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, and Texas (sorry, Longhorns,) but who is his surprise team to crash the party? That would be Texas A&M—and this time—it makes sense.

Purely basing the Aggie’s potential success on the numbers game, Jimbo Fisher’s squad leads the SEC in returning starters with 19, while key veterans such as Ainias Smith (WR), Demani Richardson (S), McKinnley Jackson (DT), and Layden Robinson (RG) return to lead what is still a relatively young roster, the quarterback battle between sophomore Conner Weigman and the experienced Max Johnson will soon reveal an answer this coming week.

Not to mention the potentially prodigious impact new OC Bobby Petrino could bestow upon Texas A&M’s new-look offense, which isn’t short of weapons in the receiving core, a borderline elite unit featuring Evan Stewart, Moose Muhammad III, Spring MVP Noah Thomas, and of course, do-it-all swiss army knife Ainias Smith.

Credit to Desmond Howard for sticking to his intuition for consecutive seasons, but if I’m a Longhorns fan, beware of the hype!

ESPN College GameDay picks conference champions and College Football Playoff participants

Is this how you see it playing out? #GoBucks

Although we all have to wait another week until [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] makes its return, ESPN’s [autotag]College GameDay[/autotag] didn’t.

The top college pregame show didn’t just make their picks for Week 0, it went bigger picture with selections of conference champions, who will make the College Football Playoff, and who will take home the trophy.

Three of their analysts made picks; [autotag]Desmond Howard[/autotag], [autotag]Pat McAfee[/autotag], and [autotag]Kirk Herbstreit[/autotag]. We all know Howard is a big homer, so his selections were to be expected but the other two had extremely similar selections for their conference winners along with CFP teams. Find out below their picks to win the major conferences along with their final four.

With a smaller slate of games this week, they had more time to make some bigger picture selections.

The three selected their Week 0 winners, conference champions along with who they believe will make the [autotag]College Football Playoff[/autotag] along with their winner this year. Check out their picks below.
