Writer Jordan Dajani highlighted the irony of the 49ers’ keeping quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo during the offseason, believing that his consistency will be the key to the game.

NFL Network’s Around the NFL editor Gregg Rosenthal rounds out a unanimous panel of writers foreseeing a 49ers win. “I have questions about Denver’s offensive line that will be answered this week in a way they weren’t against Seattle and Houston,” Rosenthal said.

While losing Christian McCaffrey is a significant blow, we feel like this team is overdue for an all-around surprise performance. One key factor is the presence of offensive line coach Pat Meyer, who held the same position for the Chargers the last three years. If his understanding of LA’s offensive linemen can help get Carolina’s pass rush going and pressure Herbert into committing a couple of turnovers, it will go a long way towards a win.
