#Bills at #Bears: 5 storylines to watch for in Week 16:
Here are five Buffalo Bills storylines to watch for during the lead up to the team’s Week 16 matchup with the Chicago Bears:
Could the #Bills play Cole Beasley right away against the #Dolphins?
The Buffalo Bills are ready for the Miami Dolphins.
But is Cole Beasley?
The 33-year-old re-signed with the Bills (10-3) once again on Monday. On Saturday, the Dolphins (8-5) head to Orchard Park for a pivotal Week 15 matchup.
Beasley would not have been added unless the team felt like they needed an upgrade. Still, that would be one quick turn around so it might be a true game-time decision in regard to Beasley being in Buffalo’s lineup against Miami.
Beasley did say he feels he’s in game shape, at least.
“I’ve still been working out, still been wanting to play,” Beasley said at his re-introductory press conference. “I don’t know, see how I feel today, we’ll see where everything goes.”
Beasley’s past does give him an advantage in terms of his chance of being called up from the practice squad. He previously played in nearly the same offense just last season with the Bills and he knows Josh Allen well.
“(Beasley) is a smart football play,” Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said via video conference. “He has a good rapport with Josh. He has played this game a long time.”
The receiver himself acknowledged the similarities he recognizes in the offense.
“It’s still the same, they just call plays a little differently. Terminology is still the same–It’s just getting used to really hearing everything again,” Beasley said.
Allen said after just one practice with Beasley he already feels the chemistry and timing is still there. That could go a long ways, but the QB didn’t want to pressure his teammate.
“I think so. I think that remains to be seen, I think that’s really reliant upon him and how he’s feeling too,” Allen said.

Cole Beasley reflects on past comments toward the #Bills and fans:
Cole Beasley’s second tenure with the Buffalo Bills couldn’t happen without a bit of an apology tour. That took place on Wednesday.
Beasley, 33, was most recently with the team in 2021. Upon being released in March, he didn’t exactly have many nice things to say.
During the COVID-19 pandemic seasons, Beasley became one of the most outspoken NFL figures against safety measures regarding the virus. He was against vaccinations and other safety precautions.
That caused clashes with fans. Most of, if not all, took place on social media.
It continued once he was no longer a member of the Bills as Beasley took some shots at Buffalo. Among those was the receiver making remarks about not regretting the split and openly said he wanted to leave:

Beasley also stated that “things changed within the organization.”
There were few bridges not burned, but they’ve been reconstructed enough for another spell with the Bills (10-3).
Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane said that anything in the past is water under those bridges now.
“No one is perfect. Deep in his heart, Cole is a good person,” Beane said via video conference. “A healthy respect on both sides.”
From Beasley, he aimed most of his discussion toward the fan base… smartly. Beasley said he “loves” Bills Mafia and admitted he “didn’t handle everything like I wanted to.”

“I love the fan base here… I didn’t handle everything like I wanted to last year. That’s a big reason I wanted to come back.”

#Bills explain how Cole Beasley reunion came together:
The return of Cole Beasley did not happen overnight.
On Tuesday, Beasley re-signed the the Buffalo Bills (10-3) once again. Previously retired, the 33-year-old and the team he played for in 2021 have had a reunion.
That comes after Beasley had a quick and uneventful spell with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier in 2022. After speculation insisted all summer that Beasley had interest from other teams, he did not sign with the Bucs until Sept. 20.
By Oct. 8, he was retired.
However, Beasley said during in re-introductory press conference in Buffalo on Wednesday that he felt like he had unfinished business.
“I just knew I still wanted to play,” Beasley said. “The retirement was more of it wasn’t the situation I thought it was going to be going to Tampa. So, all I knew is that wasn’t where I wanted to be.”
Now that Beasley is getting his chance at a bit of Buffalo and NFL redemption, the question still begs: How?
General manager Brandon Beane revealed that it was the player that reached out to the team.
“He called and said, ‘Listen, I retired, but I still am open to playing. I know you guys have had some injuries there,'” Beane said.

Have a look at Cole Beasley’s first practice back with the #Bills:
Cole Beasley was back at Bills practice on Wednesday.
For the first time since re-signing with the team, the 33-year-old took in a workout with his teammates.
During the brief portion local media members are allowed to view practice, you better believe that many of them posted images and videos of Beasley running around the practice field on social media.
Check out a collection of those below:
#Bills release Marquez Stevenson to make room for Cole Beasley:
In a surprise, Cole Beasley has returned to the Buffalo Bills.
On Tuesday, the team announced that Beasley was added to the practice squad and it’s expected that he could be called up to the active roster pretty quickly.
However, the Bills (10-3) had to make room for that transaction. The corresponding move came in the form of Marquez Stevenson as the team announced he had been released from their practice squad.
Stevenson has had a journey in recent weeks with the team.
Last week, Buffalo released him. He was let go on the same day his 21-day injured reserve window ended. The Bills previously designated Stevenson to return from IR and had to make a choice and decided to release him in hopes they could get him back on their practice squad.
That exact scenario unfolded… and the Bills eventually ended up letting Stevenson go anyway to make room for Beasley.
Stevenson, a 2021 sixth-round draft pick, had foot surgery in August after a training camp injury. His release turns some heads because Buffalo also has the likes of KeeSean Johnson and Tanner Gentry on their practice squad–Both wideouts.
The Bills still opted to release a former draft pick over them. Perhaps Stevenson had not yet progressed from his injury as the team had hoped.
In addition to the creative receiver moves, Buffalo made a switch at defensive tackle. Brandin Bryant, who was previously with the Bills and signed by Houston this season was released by the Texans last week. Bryant has since signed to Buffalo’s roster and CJ Brewer was released to make room for him.

Isaiah McKenzie isn’t bothered by Cole Beasley’s return to the #Bills… the opposite is true:
If there’s one player on the Buffalo Bills that some might think is not happy with Cole Beasley returning, it’s Isaiah McKenzie.
However, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
On Tuesday, the Bills (10-3) made the surprise announcement that Beasley, 33, has come out of retirement to re-sign with the team. Beasley joins the practice squad, but there’s a chance he could be called up to the roster on upcoming game days.
NFL Network first reported the news. Insider Mike Giardi noted that McKenzie’s “inability to find consistency” in the slot, where Beasley previously played for Buffalo, contributed to the team’s decision to bring him back.
Regardless of that being the truth or not, McKenzie has no problem with his former teammate’s return.
McKenzie took to his social media account on Twitter and welcomed Beasley back to Buffalo soon after the news update. He even threw a nice heart emoji in the end of his message for good measure.
Check out McKenzie’s message below:
