BOOM x 2: Ohio State lands a second commit during spring game

A double BOOM! for the Buckeyes

It has become very common for Ohio State football to get on a commitment hot streak in recruiting.

It is happening again after the Buckeyes grabbed four verbals during the last weekend of March, they added two more on the Scarlet and Gray game festivities. First it was tight end Nate Roberts, then safety [autotag]Cody Haddad[/autotag] followed suit.

The Ohio safety, who stands 6-foot, 1-inch and weighs 175-pounds, was previously committed to Wisconsin until just about two weeks ago when he decommitted. Haddad made his decision during the game, while on the sidelines.

The newest Buckeye commit is a solid player, ranked as the No. 519 overall prospect and 30th athlete according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Ohio State 2025 class now stands at thirteen total commits, and has now taken over the No. 1 spot in the 247Sports Composite team rankings.

Former Wisconsin 2025 commit Cody Haddad immediately receives crystal ball to Big Ten rival

This didn’t take long…

Former Wisconsin football class of 2025 commit Cody Haddad received a crystal ball prediction to choose Ohio State on Monday afternoon. The prediction took no time after the promising athlete decommitted from the Badgers earlier that day.

Haddad is 247Sports’ No. 527 player in the class of 2025, No. 37 athlete and No. 16 recruit from his home state of Ohio.

Wisconsin originally earned a commitment from Haddad back on January 18. Ohio State was quick to offer after that date, which led to the Ohio native visiting his in-state school. The conclusion appears to be a commitment to Ohio State in the end.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 is down to seven commitments and is on the slide in the national rankings, though months still remain before the class is finalized.

I guess it shouldn’t a huge surprise that a program like Ohio State has the power to pull a promising commit from Wisconsin’s class.

Ohio State working to flip a Wisconsin class of 2025 commit:

Wisconsin class of 2025 commit Cody Haddad is visiting Ohio State on Thursday, according to a report from 247sports.

Haddad committed to the Badgers back on January 17. Ohio State offered the fast-rising athlete after that date, and now reportedly lands a visit.

The three-star recruit plays all over the field at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, but he would likely play safety for the Badgers if his commitment holds.

Haddad’s extensive offer list now includes Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Duke, Cincinnati and Nebraska. Ohio State, Iowa, Texas A&M, Minnesota and Michigan State all pitched their offer to Haddad in the immediate days following his Wisconsin commitment.

The impressive athlete currently plays safety, wide receiver, kick returner and punt returner for his high school team. He also showcased his athletic prowess in track, where he recorded a 22.28 in the 200-meter as a sophomore.

His father, Drew Haddad, was a 7th Round pick in the 2000 NFL Draft of the Buffalo Bills and is enshrined in the University of Buffalo’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 currently has nine commitments, including Haddad, and ranks No. 9 in the nation at this early stage in the process.

Three-star class of 2025 athlete commits to Wisconsin

Badgers add another class of 2025 commit

The Badgers received the commitment of Cody Haddad, a three-star class of 2025 athlete from Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder still has one more year of high school football at St Ignatius before he’ll join Wisconsin.

Haddad picked the Badgers over 15 other Division 1 offers, including Nebraska and Purdue within the Big Ten. He’s played both safety and receiver, while also operating as a return specialist in his time as a high school football player.

Haddad is the fifth player to commit to Wisconsin as a member of their class of 2025, joining the likes of linebacker Cooper Catalano (Germantown, WI) and safety Remington Moss (Fredericksburg, VA), amongst others.
