The Seattle Seahawks announced a couple of roster moves on Tuesday afternoon. Seattle has now re-signed tight end Cade Brewer to the squad.

Brewer originally signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Texas this spring. He was waived on Saturday when Seattle cuts its roster down to the required 80 players.

Over two preseason games with the Seahawks, Brewer logged three receptions for 17 yards.

Seattle guard Shamarious Gilmore was waived Tuesday as a corresponding roster move.

Seahawks: 7 sleepers to watch at 2022 training camp

One week from today the Seattle Seahawks will report to training camp.

One week from today the Seattle Seahawks will report to training camp.

The theme of this offseason has been one of change. While the team might look much the same on paper compared to last year, Seattle went through a revolution in leadership. From sending their franchise quarterback away to totally upending their defensive coaching staff, there’s been a lot of shakeups around the VMAC. In theory, that should create opportunities for younger players and undrafted free agents to make their mark as this team begins a new chapter. Here are seven sleepers to keep an eye on during camp.

Where each Longhorn signed as an undrafted free agent

Five Texas prospects found new homes as undrafted free agents shortly after the draft concluded.

For the first time since 2014, no Texas Longhorns were selected in the NFL draft.

Kicker Cameron Dicker and defensive back Josh Thompson were the only Texas draft hopefuls that received an invite to the NFL combine this year, and many projected them to be selected in the seventh round.

The low amount of draft prospects this year is largely due in part to the lack of player development and constant coordinator changes under former head coach Tom Herman.

However, numerous NFL stars have had successful professional careers after not hearing their name called in the draft.

Shortly after the 2022 NFL draft concluded, the duo of Dicker and Thompson along with three other former Longhorns quickly found homes as undrafted free agents.

Here is where each Longhorn ended up thus far.

Texas TE Cade Brewer to play in Hula Bowl College Football All-Star Game

Cade Brewer has another chance to showcase his talents.

Another Longhorn has garnered an opportunity to showcase their skills one final time as a college football player.

Tight end/h-back Cade Brewer, who was a super senior this past year thanks to the COVID-19 extra year of eligibility, saw his career as a Longhorn come to a close and now has his sights set on the NFL. He joins Jacoby Jones an Darion Dunn as the most recent Texas players that will be playing in an all-star game.

He announced via Twitter that he will have a chance to partake in the Hula Bowl College Football All-Star Game, which will give him and many other players a chance to get in front of NFL scouts and display their talents.

Brewer concluded his five-year career at Texas with 59 catches for 611 yards and eight touchdowns. He was more known as a blocking tight end, and will have a great chance at the next level to fill a team’s role of being a blocking tight end or even a fullback type of player.

Looking ahead at potential NFL draft prospects for Texas in 2022

Here’s a list of seven Texas Longhorns that we could see as potential NFL draft prospects in 2022.

With the 2021 NFL draft just around the corner, eight Texas Longhorns will be waiting patiently to hear their named called throughout the three day event.

Joesph Ossai and Samuel Cosmi are expected to be among the first Longhorns selected. Ta’Quon Graham and Caden Sterns could be taken off of the board as high as day two.

Unfortunately, the trio of Chris Brown, Tarik Black and Brennan Eagles look like they’re going to be late day three picks or more than likely become undrafted free agents.

What about Sam Ehlinger? The Longhorns star quarterback could go anywhere on day two or three, or even potentially undrafted. His stock is all over the place.

Now that the 2021 Longhorns have their feet in the draft, let’s look ahead to next year. These are seven Texas players who could be among the next patch of prospects after the 2022 season.
