247Sports has released its midseason true-freshman All-America team and included Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers.

Bowers was the only Bulldog to make the team.

There might not be a more impressive true freshman regardless of position on this list than Georgia’s Brock Bowers. Bowers, the No. 2 tight end in the country according to 247Sports, was thrust into an expanded role with the Bulldogs from the beginning of the season. An injury to Darnell Washington and the absence of transfer Arik Gilbert forced Bowers into action. He has responded with 25 receptions and six touchdowns, becoming a viable threat in the air and on the ground as a run blocker for the No. 1 ranked team in the country.

Bowers has been exceptional all season. He leads the team in receptions (25), receiving yards (416) and receiving touchdowns (6). He also added a rushing touchdown to give 7 total scores on the season.

Bowers is a true freshman out of Napa, California. As a recruit, Bowers ranked as the nation’s No. 105 overall player and No. 3 ranked tight end.

Auburn vs Georgia: Grading the Bulldogs

Here’s how we graded Georgia.

Georgia has been… dominant, to say the least so far this season.

The Bulldogs are outscoring their opponents 205-23 through five games. They already have two shutout wins, one over the current No. 13 team in the nation (Arkansas). Georgia hasn’t needed great quarterback play. They haven’t really needed offense yet this season. The defense has been stellar, and it could propel them to the SEC championship game.

Auburn may be the only team that truly stands in the way.

The Tigers have had their ups and downs, but couple Bo Nix overcoming his road demons against LSU this past Saturday with the fact that the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry is being played inside Jordan-Hare stadium, and we could find ourselves watching a competitive game.

Here’s what the Georgia Bulldogs look like at each position.

Georgia freshman TE Brock Bowers scores third TD of the day

That’s a hat-trick for the true freshman TE.

Georgia freshman tight end Brock Bowers, a former 4-star out of Napa, California, has been nothing short of impressive this season.

He’s emerged as a favorite target for both JT Daniels and Stetson Bennett and has shown that again today, scoring three touchdowns in just over one half of play against Vanderbilt.

Bowers’ first score came on Georgia’s opening drive, when the tight end took an end-around for a 12 yard score.

On the next drive, with Georgia leading 7-0, it was Bowers again. This time is was a 25 yard score on a pass from Daniels.

See both here:

Then on Georgia’s opening drive of the second half, it was Stetson Bennett who found Bowers for another touchdown.

This time from 29 yards out.

Georgia true freshman tight end Brock Bowers continues to impress this season and has now scored his second touchdown of the first quarter against Vanderbilt.

Bowers, UGA’s leading receiver this season, came to Georgia as a 4-star out of Napa, California. He’s proven to be JT Daniels favorite target.

Bowers first scored on a 12-yard end-around touchdown run, before finding the end zone a second time on a 25 yard touchdown strike from Daniels.

It didn’t take long for No. 2 Georgia to find the endzone at Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs now lead 7-0 early in the first quarter thanks to this touchdown rush from freshman tight end Brock Bowers.

UGA’s stout defense forced a three-and-out and quarterback J.T. Daniels led a strategic drive for a score on the first possession.

There’s plenty of football left to be played in Nashville. The game is live now on SEC Network.

Projecting Georgia’s depth chart at tight end

The Georgia Bulldogs return a lot of talent like Darnell Washington at tight end for the 2021 college football season.

The Georgia Bulldogs return a lot of talent at tight end for the 2021 college football season. The Dawgs lost Tre’ McKitty to the 2021 NFL draft, but return top tight ends Darnell Washington and John FitzPatrick from last season.

For depth chart purposes, we don’t consider LSU transfer Arik Gilbert to be a tight end. Instead, he is more of a wide receiver. Gilbert has the talent to play both positions. Fans should expect him and Darnell Washington to give opposing defenses fits.

Here’s how we size up the Georgia tight end room:

Brock Bowers, Tight End (No. 19):

Class: Freshman

Height: 6-4

Weight: 230 pounds

Hometown: Napa, California

High School: Napa High School

Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers committed to the University of Georgia on Aug. 10, 2021. He is talented, but will likely spend much of his year developing in Georgia’s elite tight end room.

Bowers is rated a four-star recruit by the top recruiting sites. He is ranked the No. 105 player and the third-best tight end in the 2021 class.

The former Napa High School star put up incredible numbers as a junior in high school. Bowers is versatile and has a basketball background.

He received over 20 offers from Division I schools, but decided to join Georgia. Bowers has a good combination of size and speed and has the talent to excel at the college level.

The Los Angeles Chargers drafted Georgia tight end Tre’ McKitty this offseason and wide receiver George Pickens injured his ACL in spring practice, but Georgia still looks solid at tight end with Darnell Washington,  John FitzPatrick and LSU transfer Arik Gilbert.

Bowers comes from a very athletic family. His father played football for Utah State and his sister plays softball for Sacramento State.
