Brandon Miller selected top 5 in latest 2023 NBA mock draft

Could Brandon Miller begin his NBA career with this Eastern Conference team?

Though the college basketball season is not yet close to an end, it’s always fun to look ahead and see where the nation’s biggest stars could begin their respective NBA journeys.

For Alabama’s Brandon Miller, it could be with the Orlando Magic at No. 4 overall, according to a recent Sports Illustrated 2023 NBA mock draft by Jeremy Woo.

“Miller is not a powerful finisher and has to develop a bit more physically, placing him somewhere in the vein of a prospect like Brandon Ingram, who took some time to adjust but successfully put all his skills to use over the course of his career. It’s important not to overlook the fact that Miller is old for a freshman, having turned 20 years old in November, placing him in the same age bracket as college sophomores and a number of current young NBA players. But draft positioning tends to hang more on long-term projection than anything else, and as long as Miller continues to pour in buckets over the course of SEC play, he’s likely to hear his name called early.”

Miller is likely to continue impressing fans and NBA scouts alike as the 2022-2023 college basketball season rolls on.

Alabama MBB receives first-place vote in latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

Tide Hoops stays at No. 4, but earns a first-place vote!

Alabama men’s basketball is on a tear. With only two losses on the season, Nate Oats and his team are trending toward being a top seed in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

In the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, the Crimson Tide’s spot doesn’t move from last week’s No. 4 ranking. However, Alabama did land a first-place vote.

Houston is currently the top-ranked team with a record of 17-1. at the time of ranking. That one loss was courtesy of Brandon Miller and the Crimson Tide.

With the in-conference schedule rolling, Alabama will have to take it one game at a time before celebrating. Plenty of challenging games remain for this team.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama basketball as the 2022-2023 season continues.

Rookie Wire: Latest 2023 NBA mock draft has Thunder taking Brandon Miller

What would your thoughts be on the addition?

It’s getting closer to draft season, which means mock drafts will soon populate the newsfeeds of most fans.

Rookie Wire’s Cody Taylor decided to take a jab at it by publishing his second mock draft for the 2023 class.

Despite the Oklahoma City Thunder playing their way into the playoff conversation as they sit half a game out of 10th place in the Western Conference, they’re featured in the lottery.

The Thunder own swap rights with the LA Clippers for the better first-round pick among the two. In this mock, the Thunder ended up with the No. 8 pick while the Clippers ended up with the No. 16 pick.

At eight, the Thunder selected Alabama forward Brandon Miller. The 20-year-old freshman is 6 feet, 9 inches and 200 pounds. Here’s what Taylor had to say about the selection:

“Miller was recently named SEC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season after another great week of play. He is averaging 18.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists on 44.5% shooting from 3-point range on 6.9 attempts per game this season. He is one of seven Division I players with at least 280 points and 125 rebounds this season.

He leads the SEC in scoring, 3-pointers and 3-point percentage to continue a strong start on offense. He will have no issue with the transition to the NBA 3-point line and is already hitting from well beyond the arc with the Crimson Tide. Given his ability on offense, we could see Miller go even higher than eighth.”

The Thunder adding a wing who can shoot to their roster will boost their core as they continue to add impressive young talent.
