7 Bold bets for the 2022 NFL Season (including the Panthers in the playoffs!)

A long-shot MVP and an 0-17 season are just the beginning

The funny thing about the NFL offseason is how we spend months trying to put together narratives—only to watch them all get blown up after Weeks 1 or 2.

No matter how much you convince yourself you know how things will play out, the NFL loves to prove everyone wrong.

So maybe you’ll consider these seven bets listed below as longshots, but they’re on this list for a reason. We absolutely love them. It’s not just that they have a chance to return a huge profit, but they’re also incredibly fun to root for in the process.

Best of luck to all who tail.

10 Michigan football bold predictions for 2022, summer edition

How many would you bet will come true? #GoBlue

Surprisingly, we didn’t end up logging an early-year bold predictions piece like we usually do. It’s time to rectify that.

While we’ll certainly revisit before the season, once we get a better idea of who’s truly stepping up in fall camp, from what we know coming out of spring ball, we have a lot of ‘guesstimations’ about how the season will play out.

We do think Michigan football will be better than expected in many ways, at least from a national perspective. And that means a lot of things would have to go right in terms of players coalescing.

That said, here is our summer edition of 10 bold predictions for Michigan football.

247Sports’ bold predictions include Texas football winning the Big 12

Texas was mentioned on 247Sports’ 10 boldest predictions for the 2022 college football season.

With the college football season still a few months away, there’s no better time to start discussing predictions and projections for 2022. Continue reading “247Sports’ bold predictions include Texas football winning the Big 12”

Sean Payton, Eagles, Tony Pollard figure into 2022’s bold predictions for Cowboys

It looks to be a rollercoaster of a season, according to these bold predictions; Mike McCarthy and Ezekiel Elliott may want to look away. | From @ToddBrock24f7

If you’re going to call your shot, you might as well go big.

That’s what Connor Orr has done at Sports Illustrated. It’s easy to make a bold prediction or two and see if they pan out, but going on the record with 100 of them is a different kind of endeavor. (The list celebrates 100 days until the start of the 2022 season.)

Sure, he picks a Super Bowl matchup (Bills over Packers) and tabs certain players to lead key categories (sacks: Joey Bosa; rushing: Najee Harris; QB rating: Matt Ryan). But he also gets into plenty of off-the-field plotlines, too.

As expected, the Cowboys figure into a handful of Orr’s 100 bold predictions. Only none of them are all that crazy. If even a few of his prognostications come to fruition, the season figures to be a bumpy ride for Cowboys Nation.

2022 NFL draft: Bold predictions for the Saints in Round 1, via @john_siglerr, @MaddyHudak_94, @DillySanders, and @RossJacksonNOLA:

The New Orleans Saints can attack the 2022 NFL draft from a couple of different directions, which our staff considered in making our bold predictions ahead of the first round. We know that the Saints have the potential to seriously upgrade their roster. But how will they do it? And what do we not know? The Saints Wire staff examined this in our bold predictions for the first round:

5 bold predictions for Alabama vs. Kentucky

5 bold predictions for Alabama vs. Kentucky

Nate Oats and the Alabama men’s basketball team will look to get back in the win column tonight against the Kentucky Wildcats. Last Saturday, Alabama was able to take down one of the best teams in the country in Baylor, and tonight they will have to opportunity to take down another highly ranked team.

Kentucky sits with an 18-4 overall record and is 7-2 in SEC play which is good enough for second in the conference. Alabama is in desperate need of a win in conference play to avoid falling two games under .500.

Before tip-off, let’s take a look at my five bold predictions for tonight’s contest.

5 bold predictions for Alabama vs. Baylor

5 bold predictions for Alabama vs. Baylor

Nate Oats and the Alabama men’s basketball team have a massive matchup with the No. 4 Baylor Bears this afternoon inside of Coleman Coliseum. The outcome of this matchup could prove to be a pivotal moment for the Tide this season.

Alabama is coming off maybe its worse loss of the season to SEC bottom-feeder Georgia on Tuesday night and that makes today’s contest all the more important. If Alabama can find its way back into the win column today against the defending national champs, it could give the Tide the confidence boost they will need for the remainder of the conference slate.

While we await tip-off, let’s take a look at five bold predictions for today’s matchup with the Bears.
