The Baylor Bears (2-3, 0-2 Big 12) visit the Iowa State Cyclones (4-0, 1-0) Saturday. Kick from Jack Trice Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Baylor vs. Iowa State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Baylor has lost back-to-back games after falling 34-28 against BYU last week and failing to cover as a 3-point home favorite. QB Sawyer Robertson went 27-of-48 for 324 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions with his top receiver, WR Josh Cameron, hauling in 7 receptions for 125 yards and 2 TDs.

Iowa State enters Saturday undefeated after taking down Houston 20-0 and covering as a 16-point road favorite. QB Rocco Becht went 17-of-28 for 153 yards and a TD while RB Abu Sama III carried the ball 11 times for 101 yards and a TD.

Iowa State is No. 16 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Baylor at Iowa State picks and predictions

Prediction

Iowa State 31, Baylor 17

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on Iowa State (-450), who is undefeated and playing at home.

Against the spread

BET IOWA STATE -11.5 (-110).

Iowa State has allowed 7 points or fewer in 3 of its 4 games this season and has covered the spread in each of its last 3 weeks. Its defense will play a key factor in not only winning but covering as Baylor has demonstrated an ability to score the ball this season.

Over/Under

BET OVER 44.5 (-115).

Iowa State has hit the Over in 2 of its last 3 weeks while scoring at least 20 points in each game this season. Baylor has hit the Over in back-to-back weeks while scoring 28 or more points in 4 of its 5 games. With the Cyclones’ strong defense, their offense will need to carry a majority of the load, which is possible with a lower-than-usual total.

BYU at Baylor odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s BYU at Baylor odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 22 BYU Cougars (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) have their 1st conference road game on Saturday, facing the Baylor Bears (2-2, 0-1). Kickoff is at noon ET from McLane Stadium (FS1). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the BYU vs. Baylor odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

BYU has started the season strong and had a huge upset win at home last weekend, beating the No. 25 Kansas State Wildcats 38-9 as 7.5-point underdogs. They have allowed 12.8 points per game so far this season to rank 18th nationally.

Baylor is coming off a 38-31 overtime loss to the Colorado Buffaloes. The Bears failed to cover the 2.5-point spread as underdogs, although they had a touchdown lead until Colorado tied the score at the end of regulation with a Hail Mary pass.

BYU at Baylor picks and predictions

Prediction

BYU 27, Baylor 24

Moneyline

BYU’s defense has been tremendous so far. Allowing only 12.8 points per game and 269 yards per game, they forced 3 turnovers against Kansas State leading to the blowout upset win despite allowing 228 rushing yards in the game.

The Cougars have also scored 34 or more in 3 of their 4 games this season.

Baylor’s only game against a ranked opponent was a 23-12 road loss to the No. 10 Utah Utes.

BET BYU (+140).

Against the spread

BYU is 4-0 ATS this season and have won all 4 games outright. Baylor is 3-1 ATS and 2-0 ATS in games in which they are favored.

But expecting a BYU straight-up win as underdogs for plus odds, there is no need to bet the spread here.

PASS.

Over/Under

Baylor has had 2 games surpass 46 total points, including last week’s 38-31 loss. BYU has only had 1 game not reach 47 total points.

Baylor at Colorado odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Baylor at Colorado odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baylor Bears (2-1) and Colorado Buffaloes (2-1) clash Saturday at Folsom Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Baylor vs. Colorado odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Baylor rebounded from a loss in Utah with a 31-3 grounding of the Air Force Falcons last week. They covered as 17-point favorites to improve to 3-0 ATS. QB Sawyer Robertson was 18-for-24 for 248 yards, 0 TDs and 0 INTs. He did put one into pay dirt with his legs, though. He was in the lineup for Dequan Finn, who was out with an injury.

After a shaky 1st 2 weeks, the Buffs rammed Colorado State 28-9, covering as 7.5-point favorites. QB Shedeur Sanders had a monstrous game, going 36-for-49 for 310 yards, 4 scores and 0 INTs. WR Travis Hunter balled out with 13 catches on 14 targets for 100 yards and 2 TDs. It was their 1st cover of the season as they have quieted some of the negative noise polluting the airwaves thus far.

Baylor at Colorado picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado 28, Baylor 20

Moneyline

These teams haven’t met since 2010 when Baylor won in Colorado’s building 31-25. This will be Baylor’s 2nd road game of the season, and they haven’t won in their last 10 meetings with Big 12 teams.

I like Colorado to defend its home field here, but the spread makes more sense. If you want to play a prop, Travis Hunter Anytime Touchdown is too expensive at -150, but I would play it in a parlay. He has 5 TDs through 3 games.

PASS.

Against the spread

Taking COLORADO -1.5 (-115) makes the most sense here as you’re saving 10 cents to lay 1 1/2 points. Baylor has some questions at QB with the potential to run both guys out there. And after a large amount of media scrutiny following 2 road games, I look for the Buffs to make a statement at home.

Over/Under

One thing could creep into the list of x-factors Saturday, and that’s the 80% likelihood of rain beginning late in the 1st half. I could see Colorado air it out early and often with this in mind before changing gears to focus on the run. This is the smallest total for Colorado this season, and bettors are hammering the Over at 84% Friday.

The rain forecast can change, but if it stays true to what is projected, this one is going Under. Take the UNDER 51.5 (-110).

Air Force at Baylor odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Air Force at Baylor odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baylor Bears (1-1) welcome the Air Force Falcons (1-1) to McLane Stadium Saturday for a prime-time showdown. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (FS1). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Air Force vs. Baylor odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bears throttled the Tarleton State Texans 45-3 to open their season in Week 1 action, covering as a 35-point favorite. Baylor then went on the road and lost 23-12 to the No. 12 Utah Utes, covering as a 14.5-point favorite. The Bears are led by QB Dequan Finn, who has completed 23 of 43 attempts for 307 yards and 3 TDs.

Air Force, which has been notorious for having a strong run game, is only averaging 154 rushing yards per game. The Falcons beat the Merrimack Warriors 21-6 in Week 1, failing to cover as a 30-point favorite, and then lost 17-7 to San Jose State last week as a 3-point home favorite. They are 0-2 against the spread (ATS) and 0-2 Over/Under. Air Force QB John Busha has just a 38.2% completion percentage through 2 games.

Air Force at Baylor picks and predictions

Prediction

Baylor 30, Air Force 13

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no value here. Baylor is far too expensive to take on the moneyline. Avoid this play.

Against the spread

BET BAYLOR -16.5 (-110).

Air Force’s offense just won’t be good enough to keep pace here. The Falcons, typically a dominant rushing team, don’t have a single player who has topped 100 rushing yards in 2 games.

Air Force is 0-2 ATS and has failed to cover each spread by more than 10 points. The Bears haven’t been great, entering the half down 23-3 before Utah’s star QB was sidelined, but are still 2-0 ATS. The Bears beat up on Tarleton State and can separate themselves from weaker opponents.

Back BEARS -16.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET OVER 41.5 (-110).

Air Force is going to want to run the ball, and Baylor couldn’t stop Utah on the ground in Week 2 action, allowing its opponent 170 rushing yards. The Falcons should be able to move the ball more and contribute to the total.

Similarly, the Bears will get a much softer defense than Utah and should be able to score frequently, ending with 45 in their Week 1 win. This is a low total considering both Baylor’s first 2 games had a total of 53.5 or greater.

Take OVER 41.5 (-110).

Baylor at Utah odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Baylor at Utah odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baylor Bears (1-0) and Utah Utes (1-0) meet at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Baylor vs. Utah odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

This is a historic game for the Utah program — it’s 1st true conference game inside the Big 12.

Utah opened with a 49-0 whitewashing of FCS Southern Utah on Aug. 29 as a 37.5-point favorite while the Under (55.5) cashed. QB Cam Rising completed 10-of-15 passes for 254 yards, 5 TD and 0 INT before turning things over to backup QB Isaac Wilson. The latter threw 2 INT on 11 attempts, but he isn’t likely to see as much action, if any, against the Bears.

Rising hooked up with fellow NFL prospect TE Brant Kuithe for 3 scoring strikes, while WR Dijon Stanley ended up with 3 grabs for 150 yards and 2 scores.

The Utes limited SUU to 79 rushing yards on 30 attempts, with just 71 passing yards. Utah racked up 5 sacks, too, while committing just 6 penalties.

Baylor roughed up Tarleton State of the FCS by a 45-3 count in Waco, as the Bears covered a 35-point spread as the Under (54.5) held on. The Bears rushed for 164 yards, while passing for 278. Former Toledo QB Dequan Finn threw for 2 TD, but also had 2 INT, while rushing for another score.

Utah is No. 11 in the US LBM Coaches Poll — conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Baylor at Utah picks and predictions

Prediction

Utah 34, Baylor 17

Moneyline

Utah (-690) will set you back nearly 7 times your potential return, and it is never a good idea to bet such a heavy favorite, either as a standalone wager or part of a multi-leg parlay. Over the long term, it’s a losing betting strategy.

PASS.

Against the spread

Back UTAH -14.5 (-115) lightly, as that hook has been a problem early in the season.

However, while Baylor +14.5 (-105) looked impressive in its game against Tarleton State last week, Finn made too many mistakes. If he has similar miscues against the Utes, it won’t end well for the Bears in this Big 12 opener.

Over/Under

The UNDER 54.5 (-110) is a strong play in this conference opener for both sides.

Defense reigned supreme for Utah last week. It kept the Thunderbirds from accomplishing much of anything, but they’ll obviously get a much more stern test from the Bears.

Baylor also had a solid defensive effort last week, but facing Rising, Kuithe and the rest of the Utah offense is a much taller order. Utah will still get solid production, but in the end, we should get an Under result, as this number is a bit too high.

March Madness: Clemson vs. Baylor odds, picks and predictions

The 6th-seeded Clemson Tigers (22-11) face the 3rd-seeded Baylor Bears (24-10) Sunday in a 2nd-round game in the NCAA Tournament. Tip from FedExForum in Memphis is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Clemson vs. Baylor odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Clemson beat 11-seed New Mexico 77-56 on Friday as a 2-point underdog in the 1st round, as the Under (153) cashed. F Ian Schieffelin gave the Tigers a double-double (16 points and 12 rebounds) and G Chase Hunter pumped in 21 points. Clemson looks to go to the Sweet 16 for the 1st time since 2018.

The 3rd-seeded Bears didn’t break a sweat in their 92-67 win over the 14th-seeded Colgate Raiders. They covered the 14.5-point spread as favorites as the Over (137.5) cashed. Four Bears scored in double figures led by F Jalen Bridges‘s 23 points. Baylor dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Raiders 33-24. Baylor was last in the Sweet 16 in 2020.

Baylor is No. 13 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Clemson vs. Baylor picks and predictions

Prediction

Baylor 78, Clemson 70

Moneyline

PASS.

I was impressed by Clemson’s victory over New Mexico on Friday night. They left no doubt who was the better team on the court, but as good as they looked, the Bears looked just as good if not better in their win over Colgate.

I like Baylor to win this game comfortably, but I’m going to reserve my bet for the spread instead of the moneyline because I’d have to wager almost 2 units to win 1. I would consider putting Baylor into a moneyline parlay though.

Against the spread

BET BAYLOR -4.5 (-106).

I love what the Bears bring to the floor, a lot of tough, talented athletes who go hard for 40 minutes. They also have a coach (Scott Drew)  who has been to the mountain top and knows how to win on the biggest stages. They will force Clemson to play Baylor basketball, which does not fit their style. The Tigers will be put into uncomfortable situations which will cause unenforced errors.

Baylor has covered the spread in 2 of its last 3 while the Tigers have failed to in 2 of their last 3.

Stream select live college basketball games and full replays: Get ESPN+

Over/Under

PASS.

I hate to not give you a pick, but I just don’t see an edge either way with this game. If I had a lean, it would be the Over because Baylor likes to play up-tempo and run the floor and Clemson’s defense has not been as good as in years past. I’m going to keep my focus on the spread in this game.

March Madness: Colgate vs. Baylor odds, picks and predictions

The No. 14 seed Colgate Raiders (25-9) face off against the 3rd-seeded Baylor Bears (23-10) Friday in a 1st-round game in the NCAA Tournament. Tip from FedExForum in Memphis is scheduled for 12:40 p.m. ET (truTV). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Colgate vs. Baylor odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

After finishing the regular season 22-9, Colgate won 3 games to claim the Patriot League Tournament title, capped by a 74-55 home victory over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. The Raiders covered as 8-point favorites and the Under (136) cashed. Colgate is led by Patriot League Player of the Year G Braeden Smith, who averaged 12.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.9 steals during his sophomore campaign. Colgate was 17-15-1 against the spread (ATS) and just 1-3-1 ATS over its last 5 regular-season games — the Raiders went 1-2 ATS in the conference tourney.

The Bears lost in the Big-12 Tournament semifinal 76-72 to the eventual champion Iowa State Cyclones. Baylor did not cover as a 2-point underdog and the Over (134.5) cashed. Baylor has one of the most balanced offenses in the country with 6 players averaging double figures in points, led by G Ja’Kobe Walter’s 14.2 PPG. The court general is 2nd team All Big-12 selection G RayJ Dennis who averaged 13.3 points, 6.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. The Bears finished 18-11-3 ATS, including 5-3-2 ATS in their last 10 regular-season games — they went 1-1 ATS in the conference tourney.

Baylor is No. 13 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Colgate vs. Baylor picks and predictions

Prediction

Baylor 78, Colgate 57

Moneyline

PASS.

You should obviously avoid betting Baylor (-1450) as these odds are pretty steep. One would have to risk 14½ times the potential profit. That’s just not smart sports betting. Back the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET BAYLOR -13.5 (-120).

As much as I want to root for an upset, this is an awful draw for Colgate. This Baylor team is just on another level athletically and should thoroughly thrash the Raiders. The Bears went 5-1 ATS when facing mid-major schools during their non-conference schedule. They also have also beaten 8 teams this season that made the NCAA Tournament.  Only TCU and BYU scored more points per game than Baylor did in the Big 12.

Colgate faced 3 teams that made the Big Dance, going 1-2 in those games. The Raiders just don’t have the horses to keep up with the Bears.

Stream select live college basketball games and full replays: Get ESPN+

Over/Under

BET UNDER 138.5 (-110).

Colgate faced 2 ranked teams this season, and were beaten soundly. It only managed to score 55 against Arizona and 57 against Illinois. Those teams are on par with the likes of Baylor. Both of those games went Under the posted total because of the Raiders’ inability to score. Colgate was 12-20-1 O/U this season, including 3-6-1 O/U in its last 10 games

The Bears are a mixed bag when it comes to the total (17-15 O/U). They will get their points in this 1st-round matchup, but they7 will hold the Raiders under 60, leading to the UNDER (138.5) coming through.

Kansas at Baylor picks and predictions

Prediction

Baylor 73, Kansas 68

Moneyline

Baylor is 13-2 at home this season, and both losses were in overtime. The most recent of those was the heartbreaker vs. Houston.

The Bears have a penchant for frequent launches from beyond the arc, and their 40.2% success rate ranks 2nd in the country, per kenpom.com. Figure solid leverage there, on the boards and in getting to the foul line.

This one is worth a line watch. Back the Bears if the tag drops to -190 or lower.

Against the spread

The last 6 meetings in the Jayhawks-Bears series have netted an ATS split. Baylor is the lean side, but the Bears have had some game flows of late that don’t offer enough projectability of a touchdown advantage. PASS.

Over/Under

The last 15 Kansas losses have yielded an Under going 10-5 the next time out (4-1 this season), per statfox.com.

The Jayhawks typically play an up-tempo style, while the Bears play slow. But when Baylor squared off against the 3 fastest squads in the Big 12 (BYU, Kansas, TCU), those contest have seen BU hold sway with the pace, and the Under has gone 4-1.

Both teams excel in forcing less-than-optimum mid-range attempts at the defensive end.

BACK THE UNDER 145.5 (-110).
