Three Ohio State linebackers selected to Butkus preseason watch list

Ohio State linebackers Tuf Borland, Baron Browning, and Pete Werner have all been named to the Butkus Award preseason watch list.

We continue to get the preseason college football watch lists hit the news cycle for all the awards. We’ve already seen several Ohio State players make several of the lists, and now we have three more with the release of the preseason Butkus Award watch list..

Tuf Borland, Baron Browning, and Pete Werner are all a part of the names announced Monday by the Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando to keep an eye on. The Butkus Award goes annually to the best linebacker in the country and has been handed out since 1985.

Here are some brief Bios of each provided by the Ohio State athletic department.

Broncos select DL Marvin Wilson III in 2021 NFL mock draft

The Broncos select Florida State defensive lineman Marvin Wilson III in the first round of this 2021 NFL mock draft.

In his latest two-round 2021 NFL mock draft, Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling has the Denver Broncos selecting Florida State defensive lineman Marvin Wilson III with the 11th overall pick in the first round. The latest Super Bowl odds were used to determine the pick order for the mock.

As a junior last season, Wilson (6-5, 311 pounds) totaled 44 tackles — including 8.5 tackles for losses — and five sacks. He also knocked down four passes, recovered one fumble and forced one fumble.

In the second round of Draft Wire’s mock, Denver selects Ohio State linebacker Baron Browning. In 2019, Browning (6-3, 248 pounds) recorded 43 tackles — including 11 tackles for losses — and five sacks.

Wilson and Browning would certainly be great additions to the defense.

Easterling has the Washington Redskins selecting Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell first overall in his mock. He has the Baltimore Ravens picking Wake Forest wide receiver Sage Surratt with the 32nd overall selection.

Ohio State football has six players crack updated two-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft

The Draft Wire published its updated 2020 NFL mock draft, and there are six Ohio State players through the two-rounds.

Coming off a highly successful 2020 NFL Draft in which the Buckeyes had two of the top three picks, the program will be back at it in 2021 according to Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling.

Easterling has six Buckeyes picked in the two-round mock draft. It’s a perfect split as three are projected in the first round and then three in the second round. For Ohio State, all eyes will be on Justin Fields. Where does the Heisman Finalist go?

In his projections, Fields goes second overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Quarterbacks take up the top two spots, and I bet you can guess who is No. 1 overall. Trevor Lawrence anyone?

Here’s a rundown of where all six Ohio State players are projected to go by Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling.
