The Cleveland Cavaliers (17-2) and Atlanta Hawks (8-11) meet at State Farm Arena in an In-Season Tournament game Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Cavaliers vs. Hawks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Hawks lead 1-0 after 135-124 victory in Cleveland on Wednesday as a 9-point underdog as the Over (242.5) cashed

The Cavaliers haven’t lost consecutive games at any point this season. The Wedneaday loss halted a 5-game cover streak. The Over has cashed at a 7-1 rate in the previous 8 contests.

The Hawks snapped a 3-game losing streak with the shocking win in Cleveland prior to Thanksgiving. It was their first cover after an 0-3 against the spread (ATS) skid, while the Over has connected in 3 straight outings.

Atlanta has won 2 straight meetings with Cleveland, including a 112-101 victory March 6 in the most recent meeting at State Farm Arena. The Hawks are also 6-4 SU in the past 10 meetings, while the teams are 5-5 ATS in the 10-game span. The Under is 4-2 in the past 6 games, and 6-3 across the previous 9 contests.

Cavaliers at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 126, Hawks 117

Moneyline

The Cavaliers (-250) will cost you 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s a little too much risk for not enough reward.

We just saw why backing such a heavy favorite is such a bad idea on Wednesday, when Cleveland lost outright at home as a giant favorite over the Hawks (+190).

PASS.

Against the spread

Play CAVALIERS -5.5 (-115) in this rematch in an NBA Cup battle. The Hawks +5.5 (-105) have been a major thorn in the side of Cleveland, but they can’t win in back-to-back games, right?

Atlanta is 1-3 SU/ATS in the past 4 games despite the upset win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday in Cleveland.

Over/Under

UNDER 245.5 (-115) is the play in Friday’s rematch.

There is no way to justify betting an Over total so high. Yes, we saw 259 combined points in the front end of the home-and-home set.

However, Atlanta has allowed 120 or more points in 4 consecutive outings, while going for at least 119 points. This definitely won’t being a defensive slog, but 246 or more is quite a lot.

For Cleveland, the Over is on a 6-1 run in the past 7 games, going for at least 114 points in 8 consecutive outings. However, the defense has allowed 108 or fewer points in 3 of the past 7 outings.

Atlanta Hawks at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Atlanta Hawks at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Atlanta Hawks (7-11) and Cleveland Cavaliers (17-1) meet Wednesday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in the front end of a home-and-home set. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Hawks vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Cavaliers won 3-1 in 2023-24

The Hawks enter on a 3-game loss and non-cover streak, including a 129-119 loss against the Dallas Mavericks last time out on Monday as a 2.5-point favorite. The Over (236.5) cashed in that game, and is 13-5 in 18 games this season.

The Cavaliers topped the Toronto Raptors 122-108 last time out Sunday as an 11.5-point favorite as the Under (233.5) cashed. Cleveland has won 2 in a row, while averaging 125.0 PPG, since losing 120-117 at the Boston Celtics, the team’s only blemish on the season. The Cavs have covered 5 in a row, while the Over is 5-1 in the previous 6 contests.

Hawks at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 123, Hawks 109

Moneyline

The Cavaliers (-600) will set you back 6 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not enough reward, either straight up or as part of a multi-leg parlay.

PASS.

Against the spread

Back CAVALIERS -11.5 (-105) as the double-digit favorite, but be careful.

Cleveland covered a similar 11.5-point spread last time out against Toronto, winning 122-108. The Cavs have covered as a double-digit favorite in 4 consecutive outings, too.

The Hawks +11.5 (-115) have failed to cover the past 3 outings, while going 1-3 ATS in the past 4 games on the road, too.

Over/Under

UNDER 240.5 (-110) is a strong play, as the books have overcorrected for Atlanta, who had been ticking off Over results on the regular.

The Over has still hit in 2 in a row for Atlanta, allowing 132.5 PPG. However, the Under is 3-2 in the past 5 games, as the books have posted a total of 235.5 or more points in each of the past 4 games coming in.

The books pumped up the total because of the Cavs, too, as they cashed high in 5 in a row from Nov. 13-20 before Sunday’s Under against the Raptors.

Dallas Mavericks at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Dallas Mavericks at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Atlanta Hawks (7-10) welcome the Dallas Mavericks (9-8) to State Farm Arena Monday. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Mavericks vs. Hawks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Mavericks won 2-0 last season

The Hawks lost to the Chicago Bulls 136-122 Friday as a 2-point road favorite. G Trae Young scored 25 points and had a team-high 13 assists. Atlanta has lost 3 of its last 4 games and has failed to cover in each loss. The Hawks are 6-11 against the spread (ATS).

The Mavericks had their 4-game winning streak snapped Sunday, losing 123-118 at the Miami Heat as a 2.5-point underdog. Dallas was led by G Kyrie Irving, who scored 27 points. The Mavericks are 2-3 ATS in their last 5 road games and 8-8-1 ATS.

Mavericks at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Mavericks 123, Hawks 120

Moneyline

BET MAVERICKS (+115).

The Mavericks will likely be without leading scorer Doncic again; however, they are 2-1 with him sidelined this season. Dallas has won 4 of its last 5, covering in each win. Without Doncic, it has beaten the Denver Nuggets on the road and Oklahoma City Thunder on the road in the last 10 days.

The Hawks have been too streaky to be backed here too. They have scored 110 or fewer points in 3 of their last 4 games and have allowed 120 and 136 points in the last 2. Dallas ranks sixth in offensive rating with the Hawks 22nd in defensive rating.

With those trends in mind, back MAVERICKS (+115).

Against the spread

PASS.

Considering how this game is expected to go, the best team-specific value is on the away side’s moneyline. Avoid a spread here as the plus-money odds above are the better wager.

Over/Under

BET OVER 238.5 (-110).

Couple the Mavericks’ efficient offense with the Hawks’ inefficient defense and the fact that Atlanta sits second in the NBA in pace, and expect numerous points scored in this game.

The Hawks are 12-5 O/U this season as well, allowing at least 116 points in 4 of their last 6. The Mavericks are 3-0-1 O/U in their last 4 games and have scored at least 121 points in 3 of their last 4. Play OVER 238.5 (-110).

The Chicago Bulls (6-10) welcome the Atlanta Hawks (7-9) to the United Center Friday for NBA Cup group play. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Hawks vs. Bulls odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Bulls lead 1-0

The Bulls lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 122-106 Wednesday, closing as an 8.5-point road underdog. They were led by G Zach LaVine, who scored 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Chicago has lost 3 of its last 4 games and is just 3-8 over its last 11 contests. The Bulls are 7-9 against the spread (ATS).

The Hawks lost to the Golden State Warriors 120-97 Wednesday, closing as a 7.5-point road underdog. They have won 3 of their last 5 and are 4-3 ATS in their last 7 games. Atlanta, however, is just 6-10 ATS on the season. It is led by G Trae Young, who is averaging 21.9 points per game.

Hawks at Bulls picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 122, Hawks 117

Moneyline

BET BULLS (+105).

The Bulls beat the Hawks 125-113 on the road on Nov. 9 in the first matchup between the two sides this season. Chicago, with a strong backcourt and size in the paint, matches up well with Atlanta. It held Young to just 6-of-16 shooting in the first game.

The Hawks are just 3-5 on the road and are coming off a 23-point loss. They are also 0-2 straight up as a road favorite of more than 1 point. Considering those trends, back BULLS (+105).

Against the spread

PASS.

The spread is playable as well, but the preferred wager is on the moneyline given the better odds.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 244.5 (-110).

Neither team defends at a high pace, but even for these teams, this is a high total. The Hawks have gone Under in three straight games and have scored 110 or fewer in all three.

Chicago is 0-2 O/U in its last two and 3-4 O/U in its last seven. It has scored 107 or fewer in two of its last three games. With that in mind, back UNDER 244.5 (-110).

The Atlanta Hawks (7-8) and Golden State Warriors (10-3) meet Wednesday. Tip-off from Chase Center is set for 10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Hawks vs. Warriors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; split 1-1 last season

The Warriors are coming off a 102-99 loss as 5-point favorites at the LA Clippers Monday with the Under (226) hitting. G Stephen Curry had a game-high 26 points for the Warriors, who snapped a 3-game win streak.

Atlanta won 109-108 as a 4-point underdog at the Sacramento Kings Monday as the Under (235.5) cashed. F De’Andre Hunter led the Hawks with 24 points off the bench, and G Dyson Daniels had a block in the final seconds to seal the win.

The home team won and covered both meetings last season, while the Over went 2-0. In the final meeting Feb. 3, Atlanta won 141-134 in OT as a 2-point favorite while the Over (246) hit. Curry had 60 points in the loss on 22-of-38 shooting from the field and 10-of-23 from 3.

Hawks at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 123, Hawks 120

Moneyline

The Warriors (-350) have not lost back-to-back games all season, but the bid-ask difference is too high in this market.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

The Hawks have won 3 of 4 and covered 5 of their last 7 games.

While Golden State has played well, too — its 9-4 ATS record is third-best in the NBA — 8.5 is too high of a spread for a Hawks team that hasn’t lost by 9-plus on the road since Oct. 30.

BET HAWKS +8.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The Over is 11-4 for the Hawks on the season and 9-4 for the Warriors. This total seems high, but the Over has hit in 5 of the last 6 meetings, with an average of 253.7 points per game being scored.

BET OVER 239.5 (-105).

Atlanta Hawks at Sacramento Kings odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Atlanta Hawks at Sacramento Kings odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Atlanta Hawks (6-8) and Sacramento Kings (8-6) meet Monday at Golden 1 Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Hawks vs. Kings odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Kings lead 1-0 after sweeping 2-0 last season

The Hawks were tripped up 114-110 Sunday at the Portland Trail Blazers as a 4-point underdog while the Under (231) cashed. That halted a modest 2-game win streak, while Atlanta was 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in the previous 5 games. The Under was also a rarity, as the total had gone high in 11 of the past 13 outings.

The Kings won 123-115 in Atlanta on Nov. 1 as a 6-point favorite as the Over (235.5) cashed, and the Kings have won and covered 3 straight in the series. The Over in the first meeting was a rarity, as the Under is 8-1 in the past 9 in the series.

Sacramento has scored 121 or more points in 3 straight outings, winning 2 of those games outright. The Over has cashed in 3 in a row, too.

Hawks at Kings odds

Hawks at Kings picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 122, Hawks 115

Moneyline

The Kings (-190) will cost you nearly 2 times your potential return, and that’s just too expensive for a standalone play. Sacramento has won 3 of the past 4 games outright as a favorite, but this is just a little too expensive.

PASS.

Against the spread

Instead of playing the moneyline, just roll with KINGS -4.5 (-110) laying the points. While Sacramento is 1-3 ATS in the past 4 games, it did cover in Atlanta laying 6 points back on Nov. 1.

The Kings are also 3-1 ATS against Eastern Conference teams, while the Hawks are 1-3 ATS in 4 tries against Western Conference.

Over/Under

OVER 235.5 (-110) is a good play, but it might come right down to the end.

The Over is 11-3 in 14 games this season for the Hawks, and it cashed in the first meeting back in Atlanta, too.

For the Kings, the Over has cashed in 3 straight games, while averaging 124.7 PPG while allowing 117.0 PPG in the span. Keep going high whenever the Kings are involved until further notice.

Hawks at Trail Blazers picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawks 121, Trail Blazers 116

Moneyline

PASS.

The Hawks aren’t worth the juice to play on the moneyline and have better odds on the spread. Similarly, the Trail Blazers haven’t played well enough to deserve a moneyline play either.

Against the spread

BET HAWKS -3.5 (-110).

Portland beat the Timberwolves in 2 straight home games, but lost to the San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies and Timberwolves in the 3 games prior. The Trail Blazers are 2-2 ATS and straight up in their last 4 home games. They have allowed at least 127 points twice in the last 4 games.

The Hawks have covered in 3 straight road games, one of which was a win over the Boston Celtics as a 16-point underdog. They are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games. Considering those trends, back HAWKS -3.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET OVER 231.5 (-110).

The Hawks are 4-1 O/U in their last 5 games, scoring at least 121 points n 3 of them. They are 11-2 O/U on the season. Atlanta also struggled defensively and has given up at least 116 in 6 straight games.

The Trail Blazers should mimic that pace and are 3-2 O/U in their last 5 games. They are averaging 114 points per game over the last 2, both against a much better defensive team in Minnesota.

Back OVER 231.5 (-110).

Hawks at Celtics picks and predictions

Prediction

Celtics 124, Hawks 103

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Celtics (-1200) to win Tuesday.

Against the spread

BET CELTICS -15.5 (-105).

Atlanta is riddled with injuries heading into Tuesday, including Young, who is averaging a double-double with 23.9 points per game and 11.5 assists. Against a team like Boston, that will be a major disadvantage, especially on the road. The Hawks are just 3-8 ATS this season and lost by 30 points (123-93) in the Nov. 4 meeting.

Over/Under

BET OVER 225.5 (-105).

Atlanta is 2-1 to the Over in its last 3 games and 9-2 on the season. It has scored 113 or more points in 7 of its last 8 games, including 3 straight. Defensively, it has allowed 115 or more points in 9 of its last 10 games.

Boston has scored 112 or more points in 9 of its last 10 games.

Chicago Bulls at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Chicago Bulls at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Chicago Bulls (3-6) and Atlanta Hawks (4-6) meet Saturday at State Farm Arena with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Bulls vs. Hawks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Bulls won 3-1 last season

The Bulls lost their 4th straight game Thursday, falling 135-119 to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Chicago couldn’t cover as a 9.5-point home underdog, and the Over (227) hit. It was the second time in 3 games the Bulls allowed 135 points, a tough hole to dig out of. G Coby White (24 points, 8 assists) and C Nikola Vucevic (25 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists) led Chicago in scoring.

The Hawks lost a heartbreaker in Detroit, 122-121, covering as 2.5-point underdogs Friday while the Over (227.5) cashed. G Trae Young gave Atlanta a 121-120 lead with 12.5 seconds left, but Pistons G Cade Cunningham‘s hook shot with 8.5 seconds remaining put Detroit ahead for good. Young finished with 35 points and 13 assists, while F Jalen Johnson added 20 points and 9 rebounds.

Bulls at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 122, Hawks 118

Moneyline

PASS.

I believe the Bulls (+125) will win, as they’re well-rested and the Hawks are on a back-to-back after a tough loss. I’m avoiding the moneyline, though, and playing it safe with the spread instead.

Against the spread

BET BULLS +2.5 (-105).

The Bulls have won 6 of the last 10 meetings, going 7-3 ATS. However, covering the spread will be more challenging without LaVine, who usually benefits from G Josh Giddey’s assists. That said, Giddey has been relentless offensively and will likely continue leading his team effectively.

The Hawks looked strong in their last win, and with No. 1 pick F Zaccharie Risacher potentially living up to expectations, their high-powered offense will be tough to stop. Still, the Bulls have had success recently, and Atlanta struggles on back-to-backs, having failed to cover on the second night of their last 2. Despite the Hawks’ scoring advantage, we’ll back the Bulls to cover.

Over/Under

BET OVER 237.5 (-110).

Both Atlanta and Chicago play an up-tempo style, with the Hawks ranking in the top 10 for scoring (115.9 PPG) and the Bulls in the top 15 (113.7 PPG). Both teams are also in the top 5 for possessions per game.

The total has gone Over in 2 of the last 3 meetings. Additionally, the total has hit the Over in 5 of Atlanta’s last 6 home games and 4 of Chicago’s last 5 on the road. With these trends, I’m expecting this game to go Over Saturday.

Atlanta Hawks at Detroit Pistons odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Atlanta Hawks at Detroit Pistons odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Detroit Pistons (3-6) welcome the Atlanta Hawks (4-5) to Little Caesars Arena Friday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Hawks vs. Pistons odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Hawks swept 3-0 last season

The Hawks beat the New York Knicks 121-116 Wednesday as 7-point home underdogs.

Atlanta has rebounded after a 4-game losing streak, which had left it at 2-4 on the season. It has won 2 of its last 3 games. The Hawks have struggled immensely to cover, though, and even went 0-6 against the spread (ATS) to open the season. They are 2-7 ATS overall and 1-2 ATS on the road. They are led by G Trae Young, who is averaging 23.8 points per game.

The Pistons lost to the Charlotte Hornets 108-107 on the road Wednesday as 1.5-point favorites. They had won their previous 2 games, beating the Brooklyn Nets 106-92 Sunday and the Los Angeles Lakers 115-103 Monday.

Detroit is just 1-3 straight up at home this season and 2-2 ATS. It has averaged 111 points over its last 2 games, a sharp increase over its offensive success to start the season. The Pistons are led by G Cade Cunningham, who is averaging 22.9 points per game.

Hawks at Pistons picks and predictions

Prediction

Pistons 120, Hawks 116

Moneyline

BET PISTONS (-105).

The key here is efficiency. Both teams are led by guards, but the Pistons have been far more effective this season. Their top 3 guards are all shooting 47% or better from the field, while Young is shooting 38.4%.

The Pistons have picked up the pace as of late and won 2 of their last 3, even beating the Lakers, who should be a contending team this season. Atlanta has won 2 of its last 3, but has a road loss to the Washington Wizards and is 1-2 straight up/ATS on the road.

Considering those trends, back PISTONS (-105).

Against the spread

PASS.

The moneyline and spread are so similar in this one that it really is a toss up. The thought process for avoiding the spread is that the outright play for the Pistons to win is better than taking them as slight underdogs at worse odds.

However, either is playable in this scenario.

Over/Under

BET OVER 225.5 (-115).

The Hawks play at one of the fastest paces in the league and really don’t play much defense, which is why they are 8-1 O/U. They have gone Over in all 3 road matches, allowing at least 111 points in each and 128 or more in 2 of the 3.

The Pistons are 2-7 O/U, but they are 2-2 O/U at Little Caesars Arena and have scored 109 or more points in 3 of 4 home games. Since both teams feature numerous capable scoring guards, expect a quick pace and high scores.

Back OVER 225.5 (-115).
