It has been well known and documented that Michigan State had been poking around, looking to add a second scholarship quarterback to the mix to go along with Alessio Milivojevic. The Spartans pursued several players for the position, but have now landed on their guy.

In a signing day surprise, MSU has flipped Utah State QB commit Ryland Jessee, getting him to sign with Michigan State after secretly hosting him on a visit this past weekend.

A 6-foot-3, 205 pound signal caller from La Mesa, California, Jessee ranks as a 3-star prospect who held offers from Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State and Utah State.

Jessee joins Andrew Brinson, Kekai, Burnett, Austin Clay, Justin Denson, Carter Enyard (PWO), Makhi Frazier, Wyatt Hook, Rakeem Johnson, Charlton Luniewski, Mercer Luniewski, Nick Marsh, Alessio Milivojevic, Payton Stewart, Jaylen Thompson, Brand Tullis, Jadyn Walker, Keshawn Williams and Rustin Young as members of the Spartans 2024 recruiting class.

New Michigan State offensive line coach Jim Michalczik has seen his recruiting work pay off today, now gaining his second commitment of the day. The Spartans got the pledge of Rakeem Johnson, an interior offensive lineman from Boise, Idaho. The former Oregon State commit was considering BYU and Cal before deciding to commit to MSU.

Johnson is 6-foot-3, weighing 255 pounds and is a 3-star prospect. He projects as a guard or center.

Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith has gained another commitment, the tenth of the Spartans 2024 recruiting class.

Frisco (TX) native Brandon Tullis has made the decision to commit to Michigan State. Tullis is a former Oregon State commit and is coming over with the new staff.

Tullis ranks as a middle 3-star based on every recruiting outlet. He held additional offers from Boston College, Cal and Kansas.

Tullis joins Justin Denson, Makhi Frazier, Wyatt Hook, Charlton Luniewski, Mercer Luniewski, Nick Marsh, Jaylen Thompson, Jadyn Walker and Keshawn Williams as members of the Spartans 2024 recruiting class.

Michigan State offers Oregon State commit and Hawaii native defensive lineman

Michigan State has extended an offer to another commit in Oregon State’s 2024 recruiting class, this time offering Kekai Burnett, a native of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Burnett is a 6-foot-3, 245 pound defensive lineman, most likely an edge rusher. He is rated as an 88 and a 3-star prospect, according to 247Sports. He decommitted from Oregon State shortly after receiving the offer.

Burnett holds additional power conference offers from Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Cal, Oregon, Stanford and Washington State.

MSU has offered Oregon State TE commit Wyatt Hooks

Michigan State has offered another member of Oregon State’s 2024 recruiting class, this time extending an offer to Cupertino, California, native Wyatt Hooks.

Hooks is a 3-star prospect, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 235 pounds. He holds additional offers from Cal, Colorado, Hawaii and Washington State. He has been committed to Oregon State since Dec. 1, 2022, almost one year ago.

New MSU TE coach Brian Wozniak was his lead recruiter at Oregon State.

Report: 4-star RB Anthony Carrie to take official visit to Michigan State football

Anthony Carrie is set to take another official visit to Michigan State this December, according to reports.

Michigan State landed a gem in the 2024 class this past June when they secured the commitment of Tampa (FL), Carrollwood Day running back Anthony ‘Scoota’ Carrie.

Carrie was committed to the Spartans for almost five months, before reopening the process due to the ongoing changes with Michigan State’s coaching staff.

Now, with the new coaching staff in place, the staff is making Carrie a priority to return to the 2024 recruiting class.

According to a report by On3’s Chad Simmons, Carrie will be returning to East Lansing for an official visit on December 15th. It was also noted that he is visiting Georgia Tech on December 8th and the ongoing presence of NC State in the race.

Carrie is ranked as a 4-star prospect and ranks as the No. 293 overall player and the No. 19 RB in the nation according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Of note, MSU received a crystal ball to snag Carrie for a second time.

Michigan State landed a home run commitment, not once, but twice earning the pledge from River Rouge (MI) wide receiver Nick Marsh. Marsh is the highest rated recruit in the MSU recruiting class, ranking as a high 4-star at No. 109 in the nation according to 247Sports.

247Sports reporter Corey Robinson spoke to Marsh, and his mom, and is reporting that it appears that Marsh is locked in with Michigan State, liking the hire of Jonathan Smith regardless if WR coach Courtney Hawkins is retained or not:

State powers met in the MHSAA division 3 regional championship on Friday night when River Rouge and Detroit King squared off against one another. These two schools are known for producing collegiate talent.

River Rouge is led by 4-star Michigan State wide receiver commit Nick Marsh, and with his team down 13-7 with under 15 seconds to go in the game, he made a spectacular touchdown catch, living up to his nickname “Megatron”.

Michigan State is pursuing one of the top recruits in the state of Michigan in the 2024 recruiting class:

Michigan State football has extended a huge offer to a member of the 2024 recruiting class. Desman Stephens, a former Boston College commit, has received an offer from Michigan State after visiting campus this past weekend.

Stephens is a high 3-star, top-500 ranked player in the country. He is a 6-foot-2, 210 pound athlete who would translate to either linebacker or safety at the next level. He is from Clarkston (MI), attending Clarkston High School.
