Brinson signed his official national letter of intent with the Spartans on Wednesday morning to become Smith’s first official signing. The early signing period began on Wednesday.

Brinson is a three-star athlete that was originally committed to Smith at Oregon State before flipping to the Spartans in the past week. Brinson ranks as the No. 88 athlete in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2024 class. He’s also listed as the No. 1,030 overall prospect and No. 139 prospect from Florida.

Brinson signed with the Spartans over notable offers from Oregon State, UCF, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kansas, Indiana and Purdue.

One of the benefits of getting a new coaching staff installed at Michigan State football is that they bring their relationships with them. Blue Adams was recruiting Andrew Brinson IV at Oregon State, where Brinson was committed. Brinson de-committed from Oregon State on Nov. 25 and committed to MSU on Sunday.

Brinson is a 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback from Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida. He is the No. 1015 ranked player in the 2024 class by 247Sports and their No. 137 ranked player in Florida.

Andrew Brinson IV has scheduled an official visit with Michigan State:

One of the first players in the 2024 recruiting class that Jonathan Smith and his staff pursued once getting to East Lansing was Tampa (FL) cornerback Andrew Brinson IV, a former Oregon State commit.

Brinson was the first offer handed out by the new staff and things seem to be moving quickly in his recruitment, as he has scheduled an official visit to MSU on December 15-17.

The first offer of the Jonathan Smith era has officially been sent out, going to Andrew Brinson IV, a Tampa (FL) native who was previously committed to Oregon State.

Brinson is a 6’0.5, 175 pound cornerback that attends Gaither High School. He is a three star prospect that holds additional power five offers from Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisville, NC State, Purdue, UCF, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Expect this recruitment to take off and for Brinson to visit East Lansing very soon.
