Georgia football alumnus not happy Tyler Clark left out of NFL Combine

A former Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman took to twitter to express his disappointment in Tyler Clark’s lack of invitation to the NFL Combine.

This week, the NFL released its full list of draft prospects invited to the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. The draft hopefuls will engage in several position-specific skills tests spread across several days, beginning February 27 in Indianapolis.

Of the 337 college standouts summoned to Lucas Oil Stadium, ten arrive by way of Athens, Georgia. The Georgia Bulldogs are among the best-represented college programs at this year’s edition of the Combine, but one former letterman believes there was a glaring exclusion.

Former Bulldog defensive lineman Toby Johnson, who suited up in Silver Britches in 2013 and 2014, took to twitter to express his disappointment in Tyler Clark’s lack of invitation to the event.

Clark saw serious action even his his true freshman season in 2016 and was huge contributor in his career beyond. It is worth noting that this is a draft class heavy with defensive line prospects, and maybe that’s the only way this snub makes sense, but a snub is a snub regardless.

It’s nearly certain that Johnson, who was recently signed to play in the new XFL, isn’t the only Dawg feeling disgust.

NFL announces list of combine invitees

The NFL released the list of all players invited on Friday, with LSU accounting for the most players from a single program at 16 names.

The Tennessee Titans have a lot of decisions to make this offseason — particularly between free agency and the 2020 NFL Draft.

The team – along with the other 31 clubs – will have an opportunity to get an up-close look at college football prospects they’ve been eyeing throughout the season at the NFL Combine later this month.

Eleven Ohio State players invited to the 2020 NFL Combine

Eleven Ohio State football players have received invites to the 2020 NFL Combine set to take place in late February and early March.

Several Ohio State players got some much-awaited news Friday. Eleven of them in fact. Damon Arnette, JK Dobbins, Jordan Fuller, DaVon Hamilton, Malik Harrison, KJ Hill, Jonah Jackson, Austin Mack, Jeff Okudah, Ben Victor, and Chase Young all received invites to this year’s NFL Combine.

That’s a lot of former Buckeyes, but it’s not the most by any college program. That honor belongs to LSU who had a whopping sixteen players invited to participate. Michigan tied Ohio State for the second-most, with Alabama and Georgia both having ten players accepting invites.

Altogether, there are a total of 337 players receiving invites. Some are sure to skip out on the process, but others will be looking to improve their stock by showing NFL scouts and executives that they have the skills to succeed at the next level.

The combine is set to take place from February 23 through March 2 in Indianapolis. All players should be ready to have their game and athletic abilities picked apart ad nauseam from here up until the NFL Draft.

Following the NFL’s Super Bowl, there’s always the dread of the end of football. This year, the XFL kicks off on Saturday, February 8th. If the XFL doesn’t capture your interest, then maybe the NFL Combine will. The Combine will be held February 24th to March 2nd in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Georgia Bulldogs announced last month that spring practice will begin on March 17 and conclude with G-Day at Sanford Stadium on April 18. Practices will be held Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday of each week.
