Super Bowl points scored by each college all time

Congrats to Alabama and Missouri who after SB 57, have finally scored on Super Bowl Sunday!

Over the Super Bowl’s first 56 editions there have been a total of 2,593 points scored.

Some of those points were scored by superstars; some were scored by incredibly unlikely heroes.

For every Tom Brady or Emmitt Smith there seems to be a Max McGee or Dwight Smith who had a huge moment or score to redirect the final outcome of a Super Bowl.

Have you ever wondered where all the Super Bowl heroes played their college football?

Super Bowl LVII had two new college programs finally get on the scoreboard. Jalen Hurts scoring three touchdowns and a two-point conversion were the first 20 points ever scored in Super Bowl play by a former Alabama player. The same goes for Missouri, which finally got on the Super Bowl scoreboard after Nick Bolton’s touchdown.

Two players also officially scored in the big game but didn’t play college ball.

So where did they all go?

Remember, touchdown passes don’t count in the record books as a touchdown scored for a quarterback – please don’t kill the messenger!

Joel Klatt reveals new college football top 10 as Week 11 concludes

Agree with Klatt’s top 10 or what is he getting wrong?

Perhaps crazy isn’t the right way to describe what Week 11 of the college football season was but intense certainly fits the bill.  Of the 25 ranked teams in the College Football Playoff rankings this week, eight were handed losses this weekend.

We took a guess at what that might mean to the next batch of rankings when they’re released this coming Tuesday night.  Other rankings from college football experts are starting to roll in as well.

After UCLA concluded by falling at home to Arizona, Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt weighed in with his new top 10 rankings.  As added bonus, he gave a handful of teams shoutouts who are on the cusp of entering his top 10, too.  Here is how Klatt’s newest rankings look with just two weeks remaining in the college football season.

New College Football Playoff Ranking Projections

How do you think the new College Football Playoff rankings will look Tuesday night?

Week 10 of the college football season was flat-out nuts.  Based on the initial College Football Playoff rankings, No. 1 Tennessee was blasted on the road by No. 3 Georgia, No. 2 Ohio State struggled mightily to perhaps the worst Power Five team in the nation (Northwestern), and No. 4 Clemson was sent into orbit at Notre Dame.

So what will all of it mean in regards to the College Football Playoff rankings that are set to be released Tuesday night?

Obviously, we’ll have a change at the top of the rankings but just how far will Tennessee fall?  Will it be enough to satisfy the likes of undefeated TCU and Oregon, USC, and UCLA as they all sit with one loss out west?

Here are our projections as to what round two of the College Football Playoff rankings will look like when they’re released Tuesday night.

College Football Week 10 Scoreboard: 3 in top 6, 9 in top 25 go down!!

One of the biggest Saturdays of the fall is underway. Keep updated here!

The final month of the 2022 college football season opens with what is perhaps the second-biggest day of games so far this year.  It will be tough to ultimately top the events of October 15 when Tennessee and Alabama highlighted an all-time afternoon, but Saturday, Nov. 5 will go a very long way in determining not just the College Football Playoff but conference and division titles alike.

Upsets will cost teams big-time dreams and goals while heavy winds across the midwest could make things really interesting in more than a couple of contests.  Here are all the happenings for each CFP top-25 team this week.

Notre Dame-Clemson the second hottest ticket for college football weekend

How much would you pay to see any of these games?

A quick glance at the college football schedule for this coming Saturday shows what seems safely be the second biggest weekend of games so far in 2022.  Two of the nation’s very best meet as Tennessee travels to Georgia.  Elsewhere, another SEC rivalry takes place on the Bayou with [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] welcoming [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] to Death Valley, and Notre Dame welcomes undefeated Clemson for the biggest home game for the Irish this fall.

Which of the big games this weekend are the toughest to get a ticket to? There are some obvious guesses but the folks over at Vivid Seats have the numbers on just how expensive tickets are going for this weekend.  Check out their top-five average ticket prices for Saturday’s games below.

Initial College Football Playoff rankings announced

The initial rankings are out…

Through nine weeks of the college football season, a handful of teams have separated from the pack and emerged as legit contenders for a national championship.  Who will separate themselves from the rest and end up in the College Football Playoff?

It’s hard to get too upset or emotionally invested in the initial rankings because games will sort so many of the debates out themselves but there were a few things that left me in wonder:

  1. They really ranked that team fourth and ahead of who came in fifth?
  2. Notre Dame has wins over two top-20 teams, two more than Texas has over any ranked opponents.  Yet, the Longhorns and their three losses made the top 25 while the Irish didn’t.
  3. We’re big Alabama fans here this weekend as they prep for a top-10 matchup.

The initial rankings were released on Tuesday night and went as follows:

College football rankings: Kirk Herbstreit updates his Top 6

Is unbeaten USC one of the six best teams in the country?

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit releases his college football Top 6 on a weekly basis, giving who his four College Football Playoff teams would be at the moment while sharing the top-two that are knocking on the door of entry.

Last week Herbstreit moved Ohio State to the top spot after Georgia struggled on the road at lowly Missouri. Did Herbstreit keep his six the same as a week ago or did he make another change or two this week?

What did Alabama’s narrow victory over Texas A&M mean for the Crimson Tide in Herbstreit’s rankings?  Did the Buckeyes rout at Michigan State further solidify themselves as number-one in his eyes?

And did Oklahoma State stay ranked ahead of USC this week after passing the Trojans and gaining entry to the top six a week ago?

College football rankings: Joel Klatt releases new top 10

Who is in your top 10?

It wasn’t a weekend full of upsets in college but there were some close calls and thrillers that took your breath away throughout Saturday.  So as the dust settled and Alabama avoided an upset to Texas A&M, what are we left knowing after six full weeks of games?

Ohio State scored at will against Michigan State again while Georgia destroyed a bad Auburn team and Michigan rolled past Indiana in the second half despite starting a bit slow.

Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt was on the call for that Michigan win over Indiana on Saturday afternoon and late Saturday night, he released his new top 10 rankings which went as follows.

Robert Griffin, III shares college football top-7 rankings

Former Heisman winner shares his rankings…

2011 Heisman Trophy winner and Baylor legend Robert Griffin, III was the NFL’s Rookie of the Year in 2012 and spent time in the league through 2020 as he played for the Washington, Cleveland, and Baltimore franchises.   Since taking his final snap in the pandemic year of 2020, Griffin has joined ESPN where he works as an analyst for both the NFL and college football.

This week Griffin joined the slews of college football analysts and fans and released his own team rankings.  Some people go with a round number like 10, others go with five or six, but Griffin went with seven programs he ranked.

Notre Dame clearly isn’t ranked in this but three teams the Irish will ultimately play in 2022 are.  Griffin’s top seven goes as follows:

On3 expert prediction in for top Notre Dame target

Do you think this anything but a foregone conclusion?

Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class is nearly complete but a few holes remain while a few huge names remain uncommitted.  One such player is edge defender [autotag]Samuel M’Pemba[/autotag], a five-star prospect from high school powerhouse IMG Academy in Florida.

M’Pemba checks in as the 23rd overall player according to the On3 consensus rankings and will be a major boost to whichever program he ultimately chooses.  According to the experts as well as On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), things do not look good for [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] and Notre Dame here.

On3’s director of recruiting Chad Simmons has a prediction on M’Pemba out on Thursday that says with 60% confidence the star defender will ultimately choose Georgia.  Furthermore, the RPM gives Georgia a 93.6% chance of landing M’Pemba’s commitment.

It’s not official yet and the good news for Notre Dame is that M’Pemba is still scheduled to be on campus for an official visit during Clemson weekend, but the Irish appear to have quite the road ahead if they’re ultimately going to pull the upset for his services.
