Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid and Josh Richardson react to Joe Biden winning the election.
In an election year, everybody has their own opinion on their preference to win president. In 2020, it felt like this election was much different and much more important in the middle of a global pandemic and a civil rights movement.
On Saturday afternoon, it became official that Joe Biden had defeated incumbent Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States of America. It became a big victory for him and a big victory for democracy as a lot of people let their voices be heard by voting.
The Philadelphia 76ers were a big influence on voting this year as they had put out their message about how important voting was during their time in the bubble and their time leading up to the election. Joel Embiid had a great reaction when the news broke that Biden had won.

A number of Pittsburgh Steelers players bought dinner for local election workers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are off to a flawless start after seven games. Some players on the team came up with the perfect gesture for a group that has been working tirelessly in the past couple of days.
Workers in Allegheny County have been diligently counting ballots from Tuesday’s election. They stopped around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday after working for 22 hours straight. They started back up again just after 10 a.m.
Multiple players purchased dinner for the workers at the site Wednesday night from The Goose Express — chicken, rigatoni, veggies, rolls, pies, and more.
As of 6 p.m., a county spokesperson said 93,699 ballots have been scanned on Wednesday, bringing the number of ballots cast in the county to 633,468. The presidential race in Pennsylvania is still too close to call.
Thank you, @steelers, for your kindness. Chicken, rigatoni, veggies, rolls, pies and more! We’re grateful for the wonderful food from @TheGooseExpress pic.twitter.com/1KWs6E2Zeg

LeBron James released a new video, narrated by him, illustrating the importance of voting in the upcoming election.
While LeBron James has his Los Angeles Lakers in phenomenal position in the NBA Playoffs, waiting for their opponent in the Western Conference Finals, he’s also busy doing work in trying to get people to remember to use their rights as citizens and vote in the upcoming elections, both nationwide and locally.
James, in partnership with ATTN, released a new PSA on Tuesday with regards to the 2020 Election. While James has been in the bubble, he has been consistently promoting “More Than A Vote” and using his platform to shine a light on the difficulties Black citizens face in trying to simply cast a vote, due to widespread voter suppression.
Among the things More Than A Vote has helped organize were getting sports teams to commit to using their empty stadiums as polling locations, as well as committing over six figures to help disenfranchised voters in Florida get their voting rights back.
