President Joe Biden, the leader of the free world, stoked the fires of conspiracy with a hilarious post on Twitter after overtime ended.

This meme is sure to have fans around the country talking on Monday morning and serves as a good indication that Biden was watching the game well into the night.

The White House brought all of the wrong people to its panel on the rights of college athletes

The White House’s college sports panel completely misses the mark.

The parameters of college sports have been shifting for years now with the change on name, image and likeness rights of college athletes.

Since the NCAA changed its rules and allowed athletes to finally capitalize on themselves with brand deals, there’s been a lot of debate on what should and should not be allowed. It’s been a discussion for college sports’ most prominent executives on the sports’ most prominent platforms.

So it makes perfect sense that the White House would be hosting a panel on the rights of college athletes in sports considering the changes. The meeting reportedly happening on Wednesday will concern college athletes, their safety standards and their organizing efforts.

It wasn’t surprising that this was a thing at all. What was surprising, though, was just how wrong they got this thing. The panel included just about everyone who doesn’t have a vested stake in the current landscape for college athletes.

As Extra Points’ Matt Brown points out here, the panel didn’t include current athletes, labor organizations or even legal experts. Just former athletes and talking heads.

On top of that — and maybe more seriously — there’s not a single woman included on the panel. Not one, folks. Here’s the list via Front Office Sports

That is a travesty considering that folks like Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark, Livvy Dunne, Flau’Jae Johnson, Paige Bueckers and more are some of the biggest, most recognizable faces in college sports today. Not to mention their NIL valuations are worth millions collectively.

I won’t call this panel a sham — in the end, it’s good that the White House is thinking about labor when it comes to college athletics. This is ultimately we should’ve collectively gotten to a long time ago.

But it is safe to say the White House got this one wrong. This panel misses the mark. It feels superficial even if the thought is there.

College sports fans and advocates weren’t rocking with this at all.

PointsBet Sportsbook’s ridiculous scenario for Notre Dame-Ohio State

No way this happens.

Let’s begin by getting two facts out of the way. First, Shohei Ohtani is the greatest thing baseball has to offer right now and maybe ever. Second, Peacock has MLB broadcast rights but only does Sunday games. NBC gets one of those games every year and surely would be one of the regularly scheduled games.

That being the case, the chances of NBC breaking away from any Notre Dame game for baseball, particularly the game against Ohio State, are virtually nonexistent. But that’s not stopping PointsBet Sportsbook from posing a scenario that defies all logic:

I don’t care how exciting a player Ohtani is or what’s on the line for him. No broadcast network in its right mind is going to cut away from college football to cover something for another sport. Is watching it on MLB Network not enough? If people are watching college football, chances are they don’t care about anything else at the moment.

On top of that, Aaron Judge already broke the American League single-season home run record last year. There’s nothing at stake in this scenario except for Ohtani joining the 60-homer club. If this happens for Ohtani, this has to happen for all players on this precipice going forward. Somehow, I doubt that will happen because it’s not Ohtani.

Yes, there are exceptions to the rule of not cutting away from an Irish home game. The most notable example was NBC temporarily transferring the feed of the 2020 classic against Clemson to USA Network so it could broadcast Joe Biden’s victory speech for the presidential election that was called earlier that day. But an Ohtani at-bat is not on the same scale as a speech from the new soon-to-be leader of the free world.

I’m all for a nice debate on Twitter, but this is the wrong one to start. Not only does it not make any sense, but it’s insulting to everyone’s intelligence. NBC will not cut into an Irish-Buckeyes game for a sport that it barely has any rights to. Hopefully, everyone who saw this tweet figured that out quickly.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid details elaborate spread at White House luncheon

Andy Reid was particularly enthralled with three of the dishes prepared by the White House chef for the #Chiefs’ visit to DC. | from @TheJohnDillon

Andy Reid is known for his love of cheeseburgers, but the Kansas City Chiefs head coach was introduced to a new kind of delectable sandwich during the team’s visit to the White House this week.

After practice on Thursday, Reid was asked about the spread made available to the Chiefs during the Super Bowl celebration with President Joe Biden. He went in-depth about the feast and commented on a French toast ham and cheese adorned with a little powdered sugar that got his blood flowing during the visit.

“They [had] some good stuff. I’ve never had this before, but they had a French Toast grilled cheese and ham sandwich that they sprinkled a little bit of powdered sugar on. It was phenomenal,” Reid explained in a mouth-watering fashion. “There was an abundance of this. Then they had chicken fingers – exotic chicken fingers.

“Maybe the best part was, which I hadn’t seen before, little bite-size squares of the heart of the watermelon. My hat went off to the chef. I went back and talked to him and I just go ‘You guys are unbelievable.’ Whoever cut all of that out, had the patience to do it, my hat goes off to them.”

Reid was thoroughly impressed with the accommodations, though the Biden administration took a big risk in the decision to leave burgers and barbecue off the menu. Nonetheless, if Big Red gave his compliments to the chef, the trip should be considered a success.

Khalen Saunders visits White House with his former Chiefs teammates

Khalen Saunders missed Saints practice on Tuesday to visit the White House with his former Chiefs teammates. Let’s hope he returns with the Saints next year:

While his New Orleans Saints teammates were enjoying a productive day of practice back home, Khalen Saunders was catching up with old friends and glad handing dignitaries at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He and many of his former Kansas City Chiefs teammates accepted an invitation to visit the White House as reigning Super Bowl champions, where they were recognized for their achievements by President Joe Biden.

Saunders shared photos and anecdotes from the visit on his social media profiles, including an impressive selfie taken in front of a portrait of former President John Tyler (Saunders noted that, “To be completely honest I had no idea who that is,”) and a shot of his old teammate Frank Clark dozing in a viewing gallery facing the Washington Monument.

It’s unclear if Ugo Amadi also was in attendance; the Saints safety ended the 2022 season on the Chiefs practice squad and won a championship ring just like everyone else on their team, and he enjoyed himself at a celebratory parade in Kansas City after the Super Bowl. Like Saunders, he also wasn’t in attendance for Saints practice this week, so maybe he made the trip to Washington, D.C., as well. Let’s hope they’re both returning with the Saints this time next year as back-to-back Super Bowl champs.

Eric Bieniemy spent 10 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs before departing in February to take over as the new offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders.

Bieniemy was the offensive coordinator for Kansas City over his last five seasons with the Chiefs. In two of those years, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, including February’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

On Monday, the Chiefs came to Washington, D.C. to celebrate their Super Bowl triumph at the White House with President Joe Biden. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce presented Biden with a Chiefs jersey.

Since Kansas City won the Super Bowl in February, a number of key contributors have departed. Two of those — Bieniemy and right tackle Andrew Wylie — came to Washington.

On Monday, Bieniemy and Wylie made the short trip to the White House to celebrate last season’s championship.

You can see Bieniemy in the front at the beginning of the video.

Bieniemy and Wylie celebrated their final season in Kansas City on Monday, but it’s back to work Tuesday as the Commanders open their three-day mandatory minicamp.
