Derrick Johnson, Linebacker
Johnson started 40 games out of 50 career games during his time in Austin. He still is tied for the most interceptions in school history by a linebacker in a single season. A feat that he performed twice. Johnson is tied with Tommy Nobis, Fred Edwards and Tommy Woodard. Johnson is 3rd in UT history for most tackles in a career with 458. His 65 TFL in a career is still tops in school history. Johnson would go on to enjoy a 14-year NFL career with all but one season being played for the Chiefs who drafted him with the 15th overall pick in 2005.

- Parade All-American in high school. Once posted 30 tackles in a single game.
