How the results of the draft affect former Badgers in the NFL

Much has been written about the five former Badgers that made it to the NFL last week–Jonathan Taylor, Zack Baun, Tyler Biadasz…

While Zeitler is still projected to be the Giants’ starter at right guard, the veteran’s competition at the position got a lot more interesting during the draft.

The team started by taking offensive tackles with the first and third-round picks and finished by using their fifth-round pick on Oregon guard Shane Lemieux.

Now Zeitler may still have the job at the moment, but the fact that the team used three draft picks on offensive linemen means they clearly view the position as a weakness and are looking to find cheaper, younger options who they can develop into starters.
