How the results of the draft affect former Badgers in the NFL

Much has been written about the five former Badgers that made it to the NFL last week–Jonathan Taylor, Zack Baun, Tyler Biadasz…

Troy Fumagalli’s time in Denver may be over with the team’s selection of Missouri tight end Albert Okwuegbunam in the fourth round in addition to the team’s offseason acquisition of Nick Vannett and 2019 first-round selection of Noah Fant.

When you look at the depth chart it’s hard to see a role for the former Badger as the Broncos now have four quality tight ends, two of which high draft picks from the last two years, and a bevy of offensive talent all over the field.

He still is under contract until 2022, though, so the team may keep him around on special teams and see if he can develop into a depth option at the position.
