Do the Pittsburgh Steelers have a position change in mind for Justin Fields?

Would the Steelers really have Justin Fields return kick-offs? #GoBucks

It feels like Justin Fields hasn’t had a fair shake since entering the NFL three years ago. After making him a first-round draft pick in 2021, the Bears went through multiple head coaches and offensive coordinators during his time in Chicago. And when the team finally started to put some pieces in place, the front office decided to trade Fields to Pittsburgh and start from scratch.

It’s unclear what the Steelers plan to do with Justin Fields. Head coach Mike Tomlin has said that Russell Wilson is the starter and the front office declined to pick up Fields’ 5th-year option. Now there are even rumors that a position change could be in the future for the former Ohio State quarterback.

We all know that Fields is a world-class athlete. He has shown his ability to not only throw the ball at the highest professional level but also use his legs to move the chains as well. Could Pittsburgh be exploring the idea of using Fields in a way that would showcase his running ability? Steelers running back Jaylen Warren says there’s been talk of it.

In an interview, Warren was asked if he might be seen on the kick-off team as a returner now with the new rules in place. While he said he wouldn’t be opposed to the idea, he did say that the special teams coordinator mentioned Justin Fields possibly being a return man. Take a listen to the interview below.

Maybe it was just talk… or maybe the Steelers are looking for ways to get Fields on the field. It would be hard to believe a team would put what is most likely their backup quarterback in harm’s way, but stranger things have happened. Not to mention, Justin Fields seems like the kind of guy who just wants to play and help his team win any way he can.

We’ll keep a close eye on this one as this would be an unprecedented move. However, we would hope that Pittsburgh would trade Fields before putting him in that kind of position.

Former Ohio State four-star lineman transfers to Big Ten foe

Former Ohio State four-star lineman transfers to Big Ten foe #GoBucks

The transfer portal is buzzing and although Ohio State only had a few departures and none were on the projected two-deep, we are still following where the former Buckeyes are landing. One interesting departure was Enokk Vimahi, the former four-star offensive line recruit from the state of Hawaii.

Vimahi struggled when he did see the field for the Buckeyes, but there is no denying his elite physical traits and high ceiling, so it is possible another school finds a diamond in the rough. The team that will be tasked to assist him in raising that ceiling is the Washington Huskies.

Vimahi committed to playing his final season of eligibility for Washington and since this will be Washington’s first season in the Big Ten, Buckeye nation will still be extremely familiar with what he accomplishes moving forward.

This move feels shocking as most expected Vimahi to lower his level of competition, but it is also not surprising considering Washington was one of his final schools to choose from when originally coming out of high school.

Ohio State football offers 2026 Georgia wide receiver

The Buckeyes offer a top 2026 talent

It’s safe to say that when a wide receiver prospect earns an Ohio State football offer, they are one of the best in the country.

That seems to be the case with 2026 Georgia receiver [autotag]Ryan Mosley[/autotag], who on Monday morning got a Buckeye offer. The 6-foot, 2-inch and 175-pound pass catcher isn’t currently ranked by any of the major services, but with an offer list that includes Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and now Ohio State, you’d have to expect that Mosley will get a fairly high ranking once they are updated.

The Buckeyes do have a commit in the 2026 class, and it happens to be the top overall receiver in the cycle, Chris Henry Jr.

Clearly Ohio State is trying to find at least one, and more than likely two more receivers in the class to join Henry Jr.

Ohio State football 2025 in-state edge rusher will commit in early July

Will a BOOM! happen before the fireworks?

There will be some early fireworks on July 3rd for a team, and the hope is that Ohio State football will be celebrating then.

In-state 2025 edge rusher [autotag]Justin Hill[/autotag] will make his commitment that day, as he will choose from Oregon, USC, Alabama and the Buckeyes. The Winton Woods defender is viewed as one of the nations top recruits, rankins as the No. 126th player and 13th edge rusher according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Hill will make official visits to each of his final four schools ahead of his commitment date, and there is no doubt that the red carpet will be rolled out for him when he makes a return to Columbus.

With no crystal ball picks logged, it’s hard to get a feel for where Hill is leaning, but you have to believe that his home state school has a slight advantage heading into his officials.

Ohio State football hosted a surprise 5-star offensive tackle over this weekend

This is getting interesting with the 5-star and the Buckeyes

Ohio State football has a massive need for offensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting cycle and one of its top targets was on campus this weekend.

[autotag]David Sanders Jr.[/autotag], the 2025 North Carolina offensive tackle made the trip to Columbus this past weekend, a visit that many did not see coming. The nations No. 2 overall prospect and top offensive tackle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, is a priority Buckeye recruit, so this unofficial visit is extremely promising.

Ohio State has not been viewed as the leader for Sanders Jr., but after this weekend that might be changing. He has scheduled an official visit as well, with that trip coming the weekend of June 21st.

This is a big development as right now the Buckeyes have just one tackle committed in the class, Carter Lowe. Pairing those two would be a dream scenario for Ohio State.

Ohio State football misses the cut for top 2025 wide receiver target

The Buckeyes aren’t considered a top contender for the elite receiver

It’s fairly unusual for Ohio State football to miss on one of its top wide receiver targets, but that looks to be the case with an elite talent in the 2025 class.

Florida’s [autotag]Jaime Ffrench[/autotag], who was at one-time an Alabama commit, reopened the process when Nick Saban announced his retirement. It very much looked like the Buckeyes would be making him a priority, which they have, but it hasn’t turned out how many envisioned.

Ffrench released his top three schools and Ohio State did not make the cut for  nations No. 18 overall prospect and 3rd ranked wide receiver in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Buckeyes won’t give up on Ffrench even though they aren’t in his top three, but it is looking like he is trending away from playing in Columbus.

A former Ohio State football coach has passed away

Former Buckeye coach has passed away

Tim Kight was a former assistant for the Ohio State football team for seven seasons under Urban Meyer at Ohio State. Sadly, he has passed away after a fight with cancer.

Kight was a professional motivational speaker before landing on Meyer’s staff and flourished as the leadership consultant and has been credited as a key reason for the strong culture and leadership that allowed the Buckeyes to win three Big Ten Championships and a national championship during their historic run together.

Kight did have an Ohio State connection prior to joining Meyer’s staff as he was a star track athlete at local Worthington High School and earned a scholarship at Ohio State, where he competed for a season before transferring to UCLA.

Ohio State football offers Auburn commit while on weekend on-campus visit

The Buckeyes are working on a SEC flip

It was a big recruiting weekend for the Ohio State football team, as they welcomed in multiple top prospects from across the country.

One of those that took the weekend trip to Columbus was Alabama defensive lineman [autotag]Malik Autry[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 6-inch and 320-pound interior rusher committed to Auburn in February, but has yet to shut down his recruitment.

His interest in the Buckeyes grew this weekend, not just because of the visit, mainly due to Ohio State coaching staff offering Autry. He’s the nations No. 184 overall prospect and 22nd defensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. A return visit will happen as well, as an official has been scheduled at the end of June.

Ohio State is working hard to flip Autry, and hopefully the summer visit can seal the deal.

Former Ohio State wide receiver Kyion Grayes trending toward new ACC member

This would be a great landing spot for Grayes

It wasn’t a surprise when now former Ohio State wide receiver [autotag]Kyion Grayes[/autotag] entered the transfer portal.

After two seasons of not being able to see the field, and while watching younger receivers jump him on the depth chart, the writing was on the wall. It was expected that the Arizona native would look West for his new football home, which looks like it will be the case.

247Sports Matt Zenitz is reporting that Grayes will most likely end up playing for California, who will be joining the ACC this coming season. As a recruit, he was highly thought of, ranking as the No. 88 overall player and 14th best receiver according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

You’d have to believe that Grayes would see playing time immediately, so this move makes total sense for him.

From point guard to the medical field, you can call him Dr. Craft now

Paging Dr. Craft… #GoBucks

Aaron Craft is an all-time fan favorite when it comes to Ohio State basketball. Craft is the epitome of what it means to be a Buckeye… hard-working, great teammate, and a player willing to do the dirty work to help his team win. And win they did with Craft running point guard in Scarlet and Gray. He and his running mates gave Buckeye fans some memorable moments over the years including a trip to the 2012 Final Four.

But every athlete knows there will come a time when it’s time to hang up the sneakers. For Aaron Craft, that time came back in 2020 when he decided to enter medical school to pursue a career in medicine. You can now call him Dr. Craft as the former point guard has completed his coursework and will be moving on to do his residency at Ohio State’s Otolaryngology Residency Program which focuses on diseases of the ear and throat.

Craft left the Ohio State hardwood with a reputation for being a pure point guard and a gritty defender. He holds the OSU record for steals with 337 and assists with 694. He was inducted into the Ohio State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022.

Be on the lookout for Dr. Aaron Craft coming to a doctor’s office near you.
