Steve Sarkisian turned to former Dallas Cowboys running back Tashard Choice after Stan Drayton departed to take the Temple head coaching job this offseason.
Georgia Tech’s running backs totaled nearly 1,800 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns under Choice in 2021. Choice briefly accepted the USC running backs coach job before Texas came calling shortly after.
Choice takes over a running back room filled with as much depth and talent as anyone in the county. The group features Bijan Robinson, Roschon Johnson, Keilan Robinson, Jonathan Brooks, and Jaydon Blue. Choice is tasked with getting his unit to a new level this season.
The addition of new wide receivers coach Brennan Marion and his “go-go” offense concepts should provide more opportunity for two running back sets this season.
The players have responded well to Choice early on. His fresh new perspective and energy are put on display while Choice was mic’d up with Longhorn Network.
