No. 1 – Ja’Marr Chase
School: LSU
Classification: Junior
Career vs Texas: Eight catches for 147 yards
Not only is Chase the best receiver the Longhorns will face next season, but he is probably the best receiver in the country. The junior is coming off a Bilentikof Award-winning season, securing 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns from Heisman trophy winner Joe Burrow last season.
Chase ran all over Texas last season, having eight catches for 147 yards. It was only just the beginning for him though, as he had more than 100 yards receiving in eight other games, including 221 yards and two touchdowns against Clemson in the National Championship.
Hopefully, with Myles Brennan taking snaps, the Longhorns will be able to somewhat contain Chase in Baton Rouge. An experienced Texas secondary has already been burned by him and will not want to make the same mistake twice in as many years.
