Bruce Feldman expressed a few strong opinions on Texas wide receiver Devin Duvernay’s draft stock.
Feldman is currently the National College Football Insider for The Athletic, as well as a sideline reporter for FOX Sports. If anyone knows a thing or two about potential draft picks, it’s him.
When discussing the top bargains available ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft, Feldman mentioned that Duvernay’s current projections seem too low for his talents.
“Texas WR Devin Duvernay higher than No. 117: I’m really surprised to see him this far down. He flourished in the slot for Texas. He’s got a legit track speed and pound for pound was probably the toughest guy on the Longhorns. Heck, he might’ve been that even if you removed the pound-for-pound part.”
Although Feldman agrees that Duvernay appears primed to shine at the next level, several mock draft projections have listed him anywhere between the second and fifth rounds.
In one of the strongest wide receiver draft classes in recent history, some may overlook Duvernay’s unique attributes. He’s never missed a single game in his four-year collegiate career, he’s speedy and provided the most yards after catch in college football last season, and he’s only dropped five passes as a Longhorn. When you mix these talents with his high character and knowledge, why not take a chance on him?
Keep an eye on the Ravens to be a possible suitor, as several well-respected NFL Draft analysts have linked Duvernay to Baltimore in numerous mock drafts recently.
