Texas Longhorns: Five Areas To Improve In 2020

The Texas Longhorns finished the year 8-5 but here are five areas to get even better in 2020.

Run The Fooball

It might seem like an older concept to run the football but one that Tom Herman truly believes in. The Longhorns found success with Keaontay Ingram, Roschon Johnson and Sam Ehlinger in 2019. Each player finished with seven touchdowns a piece. Factor in the incoming five star recruit Bijan Robinson and one should expect the Longhorns to get back to a punishing offensive style that breaks the will of the opposing defense.

The Longhorns three-headed rushing attack could have a fourth with Robinson but regardless the team will be looking to run the football with an multitude of players. Given how Ohio State ran the football this past year, it seems like a foregone conclusion that Texas will look to do the same.

J.K. Dobbins ran for over 2,000 yards this past season for the Buckeyes with 21 touchdowns. Robinson could be the Dobbins for Texas in 2020. Texas does like to get their backs involved in the passing game a big reason why Ingram will be in the fold, the backs should be a huge part of the success if new play caller Mike Yurcich can get similar results in Austin.
