2005 – Texas vs. Ohio State
Yet another highly-anticipated matchup between two top ten teams. Ohio State entered the game as the No. 4 ranked team in the nation, while Texas sat at No. 2. This was one of the biggest non-conference early season wins for Texas in program history.
Neither team could get much going on offense, but Texas quarterback Vince Young came through in the air when it mattered. Young threw a 24-yard go-ahead touchdown to Limas Sweed with 2:37 left on the clock.
This was the first meeting between two of college football’s most storied programs. The Longhorns defeated the Buckeyes 25-22 to jump-start their season of dominance.
