How do you not select a game that features double overtime?
It was a thriller. Unranked Texas stunned No. 10 ranked Notre Dame in the season opener with true freshman Shane Buechele behind center. Versatile player Tyrone Swoopes scored on a lunging 6-yard touchdown in the second overtime for a 50-47 win.
Although Buechele had just beat out Swoopes for the starting quarterback job, Texas relied heavily on Swoopes throughout the matchup. Swoopes ended the game with three touchdowns and a packed stadium chanting his name.
