Bass taking the lead?

Is time running out for kicker Stephen Hauschka? It reportedly sounded like rookie sixth-round pick Tyler Bass is taking the lead in Buffalo’s kicking battle. One guy lined up for each side. Bass had more attempts, but did much better, WIVB, among others, report.

First, Hauschka was only 1-for-2 on extra points. Not good. Bass made both of his. Then Bass reportedly made kicks from 41 and 43 yards while missing a long one from 55. Those are tough, but if Bass shows that consistency from kicks he should make over the next few days? This battle could be over.

In regard to all misses and makes: It was a windy day on Thursday in Orchard Park, but that’s often the case, isn’t it? Still playing a big factor into this could be Bass and his status as a rookie, but if Hauschka isn’t making extra points currently? Not ideal for him.
