Hey, it’s Valentine’s Day—Roses. Chocolates. Cards. Last-minute attempts to make dinner reservations. The works!
So as we wrap up our Watch Parties with YouTube AdBlitz, we figured it was the perfect time to combine two pop culture themes taking over the week—Super Bowl commercials and Cupid’s day of loving bliss— and look back at the Super Bowl 57 ads that left fans with all the feels.
As always, the Super Bowl in 2023 caught our attention and had many of us glued to the television screen for hours.
Both the Chiefs win over the Eagles and ads during Super Bowl 57 did the trick. But that doesn’t mean it’s the only time you’ll be sitting in front of screen looking for entertainment.
The BIg Game is a fantastic opportunity for movies and shows to leave a mark on us. One that, hopefully for them, make us remember to get right back in front of our screens check out these features in the near future… after we stretch our legs, of course.
Check out three of those such features that got us excited to do that courtesy of YouTube AdBlitz below:
Check out Ad Meter’s No. 1 #SuperBowl 57 ad right here:
Winner, winner, chicken (dog) dinner.
The Farmer’s Dog, a pet food brand, took home the top spot in the 35th year of Ad Meter’s ratings after Super Bowl 57. It earned a rating of 6.56 out of 10, edging the competition.
The spot titled “Forever” beat out the NFL’s ad “Run With It” (6.38) and Amazon’s “Saving Sawyer” (6.35) feature in the race for No. 1.
The emotional spot followed the life of a girl and her best friend, a dog named “Bear.” She goes through life’s experiences from childhood to a family of her own and her pup is there, by her side, from top to bottom.
The commercial tugged at your heartstrings, as many can relate to the passion of raising a pet of their own.
Even before the Super Bowl, the teaser for the 60-second ad piled up thousands of views on YouTube AdBlitz.
After its title-winning performance on Ad Meter, it’s clear those views mounted for a good reason.
What’s latest commercial buzz as Super Bowl 57 wraps up?
The Super Bowl is over, but the commercial conversations are just getting warmed up, with more than a few ads picking up steam in the digital world.
During the rush, we’ve been keeping an eye on what fans are watching —and then watching again and again—on YouTube’s exclusive commercial platform, AdBlitz.
Some of the national spots have reached view counts that are typically considered an excellent run for a month or perhaps even a year.
What’s at the top?
While we await the final USA TODAY Ad Meter ratings, here’s a look at the commercials that have skyrocketed to eight-figure counts—with one nearing 100 million.
Don’t let him fool you; Diddy does do Super Bowl commercials.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the music and entertainment legend, stars in a Super Bowl 57 ad for Uber One, which is all about him being against it… or at least against creating jingles.
Unfortunately for Combs, his name is such a high-profile one that thousands have already tuned in for his spot for Uber. They won’t mind that, though.
Adding to the fun in the commercial is plenty of nostalgia.
The advert features Combs being convinced to create a “hit” and not a “jingle.”
To do just that, Diddy ends up dusting off some throwbacks many will love. It includes some other cameos as well, such as Montell Jordan (This is How We Do It), Kelis (Milkshake), and Donna Lewis (I Love You Always Forever).
Is it just a jingle in the end? Thousands made a choice to decide for themselves by watching it before kickoff on YouTube AdBlitz.
And for those who missed it, we’ve got you covered—
Cueing up the Uber One for the latest Watch Party:
Rihanna is back at the #SuperBowl and anticipation has been brewing:
Rihanna waited for a pretty good time to make her return.
The multi-Grammy Award-winning superstar has not performed since 2018. Her first time back in the spotlight? Just a little thing called Super Bowl 57.
While some will come for the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, many will tune in just for her. Considering how long it’s been, the anticipation has continued to grow, even just hours before her big show.
During the lead-up to Super Bowl Sunday, Rihanna explained her decision to come back in such a spot. After recently becoming a mother, Rihanna said she felt like she could take on any endeavor.
“It feels like it could have only been now,” she said. “When I first got the call to do it again this year, I was like, ‘Are you sure?’ Like, ‘I’m three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this.’ But when you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world, you can do anything.”
It appears her fans have similar feelings of excitement to see her back on stage.
Apple Music’s teaser for the halftime show is piling up the views before kickoff. Millions upon millions have been clocked in on YouTube AdBlitz.
Get your anticipation boiling, too, with the preview below as we cue up another Watch Party:
The Super Bowl commercial mania is nearing an apex as the Big Game approaches on Sunday, with the highly anticipated curtain lift on advertising’s most prominent stage attracting the attention of millions of viewers.
As of Saturday, over 30 brands have gone live with a national spot, and so far, the big-game billing is full of headliners, from A-list celebs to legendary rockers and, of course, dogs.
What are Super Bowl commercial fans checking out the most? We looked to our partners at YouTube AdBlitz to find out the answer.
The exclusive channel’s library is a nod to All Things Super Bowl Ads (and beyond) and is something we always like to keep an eye on as the advertising momentum escalates into an all-out rush.
With that in mind, here are three spots—one in-game and two extended cuts—USA TODAY Ad Meter is cueing up in the Watch Party today:
Google got us! So, it’s only fair to invite them to the Super Bowl commercial Watch Party.
Google has been a significant player in the Super Bowl commercial game lately, coming off a top 10, top 20, and a third-place finish in recent USA TODAY Ad Meter ratings.
The brand’s tech advancements complement its progressive thoughts, and when it comes to sending that message to consumers? Google’s creative direction always seems to capture the audience’s attention — a difficult feat that the company achieves with varying genres: Funny. Sad. Thought-provoking.
What starts as a pull at the heartstrings as “Unchained Melody” softly coaxes the viewer into thoughts of Patrick Swayze ghost-lifting a penny to Demi Moore, quickly hits the brakes— WIRP!
Cue Missy Elliott’s “We Run This,” and away we go, off to the land of erasing those background snafus in the camera photos we love the most. And not just us—Amy Schumer, Doja Cat and Giannis Antetokounmpo, too!
In the time-crunched land of Super Bowl ads, pulling a one-eighty in a spot is not easy. There’s not enough runway to take off… to make it work till the end.
This one works.
So, Google: it’s time to take center stage at the Watch Party with YouTube AdBlitz.
Leave it to John Travolta, Donald Faison and Zach Braff to get the Super Bowl commercial world buzzing.
Zach Braff and Donald Faison will always attract fans when they show up in the neighborhood for T-Mobile. That much we learned during the former “Scrubs” stars’ first appearance in the big game lineup in 2022.
But add John Travolta to the sing-happy scenario, and you’re looking at small-screen cinematic gold—especially when the background melody is “Summer Nights” from the hit “Grease.”
And that’s the unlikely combo T-Mobile pulled off for its latest Super Bowl spot, which hit the digital cosmos on Thursday. The three stars reimagine the “Summer Nights” lyrics to fit the T-Mobile Home Internet campaign, and the catchy nostalgia hits all the right notes, to the point you’ll find yourself humming the original duet well after the 60 seconds end.
TurboTax is back in the commercial lineup with this 45-second ‘tax-free’ musical.
TurboTax is back for the Super Bowl 57 commercial rush, and as part of USA TODAY Ad Meter’s partnership with YouTube AdBlitz, we’re taking a look at the brand’s 45-second spot, “Dancer.”
The tax prep provider has become a familiar face on advertising’s biggest stage, appearing in the nationally televised block for nearly a decade, which includes the 2022 commercial starring “Ted Lasso” star Jason Sudeikis.
Shifting to 2023, the creative behind the campaign continues the brand’s overall mission, which Cathleen Ryan, SVP of Marketing for Intuit TurboTax, explains is a feel-good message consumers would welcome as Tax Season nears.
“This year’s Super Bowl spot is the culmination of our annual brand campaign ‘Come To TurboTax’, which encourages people to meet with a TurboTax Expert who can do their taxes for them, freeing them to get back to enjoying their life, said Ryan via email to Ad Meter. “We wanted to celebrate the joy and freedom people feel once they meet with a TurboTax expert that does their taxes.”
What can you do…. when you’re not in charge of doing your taxes?
The dream scenario plays out in 45 seconds, interpreted in a musical number by the star of the show—a guy who doesn’t have to hassle with his taxes.
The win-win display of W2-free freedom hits the small screen on Super Bowl Sunday, where TurboTax sees a perfect melding of Big Game joy and Filing Day fears.
Ryan continued on that thought: “The Super Bowl is a massive cultural moment that also happens to align with a key peak in the tax filing season. TurboTax’s approach to the Super Bowl reinforces that the brand isn’t just a DIY tax prep company – TurboTax has the products and services to handle your tax situation no matter how you want to file – including meeting with a TurboTax Expert while they file taxes for you.”
