Ohio IOL with OSU offer eliminates Ohio State, adds Michigan football to top group

Uh oh! #GoBlue

A prediction that one Ohio-based offensive lineman will choose Ohio State appears to be somewhat premature.

2026 Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius four-star offensive lineman Will Conroy still has quite a bit of time before he signs on the dotted line, but on Monday, he already has started to trim his list. Conroy has a 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction indicating that he’d choose Ohio State — usually a solid prediction for a Buckeye State product — but the January prediction doesn’t look quite as good now that it’s July.

Conroy released his top five schools and Michigan football made the cut, but Ohio State did not. Oklahoma, Arizona State, Miami, and Florida rounded out the top five.

Here is how Conroy ranks according to the recruiting services:

* Ovr. Pos. St.
247Sports Composite 3 330 26 13
On3 Industry Ranking 4 236 18 11
247Sports 3 16 13
On3 3 298 22 14
ESPN 3 290 16 12
Rivals 3 11 11

Of those who made Conroy’s top group, Michigan football is the last to offer, having extended the opportunity in April.

Not only does Conroy have an Ohio State offer, he also has offers from Kentucky, MSU, Oregon, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and others.

Ohio State football left off 2026 in-state offensive lineman’s top-five

Interesting news. #GoBucks

Ohio State football has done very well over the last few recruiting cycles to lock up the state’s top players.

That won’t be the case for 2026 offensive lineman [autotag]Will Conroy[/autotag], who on Monday morning announced his top-five schools, with the Buckeyes nowhere to be seen. The 6-foot, 3-inch, 275-pounder named Arizona State, Oklahoma, Miami, Michigan and Florida in his top group.

It’s a bit interesting to see Ohio State omitted on his list, as the only current 247Sports Crystal Ball pick was for the Buckeyes. It looks like the nation’s No. 328 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings won’t end up in Columbus.

Ohio State is still in a good position to land the top in-state offensive lineman in Maxwell Riley along with another top-150 local prospect in Sam Greer.

Oregon Ducks pick up projection to land 4-star IOL in 2026 class

The Oregon Ducks have picked up a recruiting prediction to land 2026 four-star interior offensive lineman Will Conroy.

The Oregon Duck fanbase may be intensely focused on the 2025 recruiting class and the high-profile prospects who are either committed or soon to commit at the moment, but Dan Lanning and his team appear to be making an impact on the 2026 class as well.

Over the weekend, the Ducks picked up an On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projection from Steve Wiltfong to land 4-star interior offensive lineman Will Conroy.

Conroy stands at 6-foot-3, 275 pounds, and is rated as the No. 273 overall player in 2026, and No. 22 IOL in the nation. He is from Ohio and was favored to go to Ohio State before Wiltfon’s prediction swung the tide in favor of the Ducks.

Currently, the Ducks only have one commitment in the 2026 class — 4-star DL Tony Cumberland, the No. 38 player in the class and No. 3 DL. As we start to see the 2025 class fill out and get into its final form, don’t be surprised to watch more 2026 players make their announcements for the Ducks.

USC basketball hosts Kevin Durant, other NBA stars with recruits watching

Hosting Kevin Durant and James Harden after practice with recruits looking on? Seems like a good recruiting tool for USC and Eric Musselman.

USC basketball hosted a number of notable NBA players on NBA draft day at the Galen Center. Dalen Terry (Arizona), Chet Holmgren (Gonzaga), Kevin Durant (Texas) and James Harden (ASU) met with USC coaches Will Conroy and Eric Musselman. Conroy put the NBA guys through a workout after USC basketball practice.

There are many recruiting advantages to USC being located in Los Angeles. Highly-prized 2025 five-star recruits Tounde Yessoufou and Brayden Burries were visiting and taking in practice as the NBA players assembled courtside. It never hurts to have two NBA MVPs working out with one of your assistants when you are hosting two elite prospects.

“It’s good for our guys to watch, jump in, work out with them,” Musselman explained after practice. “We’ve had a steady flow of guys almost every day, and the great thing about being in LA is that a lot of these guys have offseason homes here, and certainly we want to open our doors to them.”

Wisconsin football offers four-star class of 2026 iOL

Wisconsin football offers four-star class of 2026 iOL

Wisconsin football extended an offer to four-star class of 2026 iOL Will Conroy on Friday.

Conroy joins Ben Nichols, another four-star class of 2026 iOL, to receive offers from the Badgers this week.

Both 247Sports’ composite ranking and On3’s industry ranking have Conroy as a four-star recruit. The Cleveland, Ohio native already holds offers from 22 schools including Oregon, Miami (Florida), Florida, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin

On3’s industry ranking has Conroy as the No. 20 interior offensive lineman in the class of 2026, No. 12 recruit from Ohio and No. 254 overall player in the class. He currently stands at 6’3,” 275 pounds, representing St. Ignatius High School in Ohio.

His first gridiron offer arrived from Oregon in September 2023. Alongside Missouri, Wisconsin became the latest program to offer Conroy in May 2024.

247sports’ crystal ball prediction and On3’s recruiting prediction machine both have Ohio State as Conroy’s most likely landing spot.

Currently, UW’s iOL room consists of Joe Huber, Jake Renfro and James Durand,.
