Who did the Colts take in CBS Sports’ 7-round mock draft?

What do you think of this seven-round mock?

As the 2021 NFL draft approaches, now officially three weeks away, the Indianapolis Colts will be a team to watch. Given their history of finding gems throughout the draft, Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports ran a seven-round mock draft for Indy.

Without any trades going down, which is unlikely for Chris Ballard, the Colts found their new left tackle, an intriguing edge rusher a new pass-catching weapon that feel mightily.

Here’s how the mock draft went for the Colts:

5. The Outback Bowl once again delivered

It’s been Big Ten vs. SEC since it made the change from the Hall of Fame to the Outback in 1996, and it keeps on coming through with good fun games.

Minnesota was able to come through against Auburn for a 31-24 in last year’s thriller on New Year’s Day.

Iowa got by Mississippi State 27-21 in the 2019 New Year’s Day version, South Carolina and Jadeveon Clowney blasted through Michigan 26-19 before that, and there were three overtime games in the 2010s.

The Outback Bowl has now given us four straight good, tough SEC vs. Big Ten battles decided by seven points or fewer, and nine of the last 12 have been close.

This game always has that big conference teams that were just good enough to matter, but not so amazing that they’re disappointed to be playing in it. This one came through, too, only more so considering bowl games are still a huge deal for the Indiana program, and Ole Miss is just getting going under Lane Kiffin.

Ohio State vs. Indiana 2020 Football Preview And Prediction

It’s the first time Ohio State and Indiana will match up as top-ten opponents. See our keys to the game and how we see it playing out.

Raise your hand if you thought Indiana would be the biggest test of the Big Ten season for Ohio State. Yeah, me either, and yet here we are. What head coach Tom Allen has done there in Bloomington is quite amazing. And it’s all been done relatively quietly in the Big Ten East division.

The Hoosiers come to town this weekend and it marks the first time in the nearly 120 year history of Ohio State vs. Indiana football games that the teams will face each other as top-ten opponents. The Hoosiers are right at No. 10 in the latest Amway Coaches Poll Powered by USA TODAY sports, and a spot higher (at No. 9) in the AP Poll.

Let’s get ready for the game of the century! Well… not quite… but you understand. At least we hope to be able to watch some football with a Scarlet and Gray hue to it this weekend as opposed to last Saturday.

Prediction

Michigan 40, Indiana 24

Moneyline (ML)

Michigan (-345) is a moderate favorite on the road, and the Wolverines are not going to be caught looking ahead to their titanic battle next weekend with Ohio State. However, they’re too expensive on the road against an underrated Indiana (+265). The Hoosiers would have been a much more tempting play had QB Michael Penix Jr. not gone down with an injury.

Against the Spread (ATS)

MICHIGAN (-8.5, -115) will come home from Bloomington with a hard-fought double-digit victory. Indiana (+8.5, -106) will keep it close — and might even be tied or leading at halftime — but the deeper Wolverines will pull away in the second half.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER (53.5, -110) is 5-1 in Michigan’s past six on the road, and 6-2 in the Wolverine’s past eight inside the conference. The over is 5-0 in Indiana’s past five at home against teams with a winning road record, and 10-4 in the Hoosiers’ past 14 inside the Big Ten, too.
