Previewing Sundays West Virginia Mountaineers at Ohio State Buckeyes sports betting odds and lines, with NCAA basketball picks and tips.

The West Virginia Mountaineers (10-1, 0-0 Big 12) and Ohio State Buckeyes (11-1, 1-1 Big Ten) tip off at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland at 12 p.m. ET Sunday. We analyze the West Virginia-Ohio State odds and betting lines, while providing college basketball betting tips and advice on this matchup.

The Buckeyes are ranked second in the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball coaches poll. The Mountaineers are ranked 23rd.

West Virginia vs. Ohio State: Three things you need to know

1. While this game is technically a neutral-site game, it will be played in Cleveland, about two hours from Ohio State’s campus.

2. West Virginia uses four players in its rotation over 6-foot-7. The Mountaineers’ size and strength have been a key to their defense. They rank ninth in the nation in defensive field-goal percentage at 36.2, and they’re fourth in 3-point percentage at 24.6.

3. The Mountaineers are 3-8 against the spread in the past 11 neutral-site games. The Buckeyes are 7-1 ATS in the past eight neutral-site games while going 13-3 ATS in the past 16 overall.

Prediction

Ohio State 71, West Virginia 60

Moneyline (ML)

Ohio State (-294) is a significant favorite, but it’s not worth a bet with a $10 wager returning a profit of just $3.40 if the Buckeyes win outright.

Against the Spread (ATS)

OHIO STATE (-7.5, +110) is a nice play for this ‘neutral-site’ battle in Cleveland, especially if you can get the number under seven. The Buckeyes have cashed in six consecutive outings against teams with a winning straight-up record.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 136.5 (-106) is worth a small-unit bet, mostly due to West Virginia’s suffocating defense. The Under has hit in four straight for the Mountaineers, and their D will dictate the play. While Ohio State goes over 70, just the third time West Virginia allows a team over the mark, the game will end up Under the projected total.

Prediction

TCU 31, West Virginia 13

Moneyline (ML)

TCU (-359) opens this contest as a big home favorite in the inter-conference matchup with West Virginia (+425). Given how poorly West Virginia’s offense has played this season, look for TCU to be able to win this contest at home.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Horned Frogs to win outright returns a profit of $2.79.

Against the Spread (ATS)

TCU (-13.5, -110) opens this contest as a two-score favorite at home despite just a 5-6 record on the season. West Virginia just doesn’t have enough firepower on offense to keep up with TCU and it’s why the Mountaineers have failed to cover the spread in five of their last seven games. Look for TCU to cover the 13.5-point spread Friday afternoon.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total is set at 43.5, which seems very low for this Big 12 meeting. While West Virginia’s offense is averaging less than 21 points per game, TCU actually has one of the better offenses in college football. Look for them to score in the low 30s and for the OVER to hit late in the fourth quarter.

Oklahoma State at West Virginia odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s Oklahoma State at West Virginia college football matchup, with college football betting odds, picks and best bets

The Oklahoma State Cowboys (7-3, 4-3, Big 12) and West Virginia Mountaineers (4-6, 2-5) meet Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, W. Va., at noon ET.

We analyze the Oklahoma State-West Virginia odds and betting lines, while providing college football betting tips and advice on this matchup.

Oklahoma State at West Virginia: Three things you need to know

1. Cowboys RB Chuba Hubbard leads the Big 12 with 1,726 rushing yards and a total of 20 touchdowns. The yardage total is tops in the FBS.

2. Oklahoma State took a big hit with WR Tylan Wallace (knee) out for the season due to a knee injury.

3. West Virginia ranks 115th in total yards (328.6) and 129th in rushing yards (76.7) per contest. Defensively, WVU ranks 101st in passing yards allowed (253.9) and tied for 88th in points allowed (30.9).

Prediction

Oklahoma 34, West Virginia 23

Moneyline (ML)

Oklahoma State (-250) is a bit pricey, especially for a team playing without its leading receiver while on the road. But you can’t trust West Virginia (+205) despite its upset win over K-State last week to keep its bowl hopes alive.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on Oklahoma State to win would return a profit of $4.00.

Against the Spread (ATS)

OKLAHOMA STATE (-6.5, -115) is a tempting play as a favorite by less than a touchdown. The Cowboys have one of the top running backs in the nation, and the Mountaineers are tied for 74th against the run, allowing 167.1 yards per game. That’s where this game will be won.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS. The over/under (55.5) is going to be too close to call in this one. The Cowboys have a prolific offense, but with Wallace missing they won’t be hitting on all cylinders. The West Virginia offense is also a concern, having been inconsistent and just marginal all season.

Four-star Brooklyn RB Lamy Constant commits to West Virginia

West Virginia finally added a bit of 4-star quality to its class of 2020 with the commitment of Lamy Constant, a star running back from Brooklyn.

It hasn’t been a positive or smooth football season at West Virginia.Yet the Mountaineers finally caught a positive break on Tuesday with the commitment of four-star running back Lamy Constant.

A 6-foot, 186-pound star for Canarsie High School in Brooklyn, Constant picked the Mountaineers ahead of Michigan, LSU, Baylor and numerous other power 5 programs. He told 247Sports that he actually made the decision after visiting West Virginia and spending time with the coaching staff. He told the West Virginia staff about his decision then, but only came public with it on Tuesday.

“I was really comfortable the time I was there,” Constant told 247Sports. “I am not going to say I fell for the car salesman pitch. None of that. I really felt like it was genuine and it honestly was, from coach (Neal) Brown to (running backs) coach (Chad) Scott, with how they spoke.

“I like just how genuine (Brown) seemed to be from beyond the aspect of being an athlete and being a football player,” Constant said. “He wanted me to know that me coming here and being a part of this program, I was going to become a better person.”

That’s ok for Constant, who said that early playing time in Morgantown was a critical factor in his decision.

“They have a lot of young guys on offense who are thriving,” he said. “That is definitely appealing to me since I want to come in and contribute as soon as possible.”
