Former Steelers All-Pro WR teases return to Pittsburgh on social media

Antonio Brown teased on social media that he still hopes to rejoin the Steelers in 2024, and even offered to play for free.

The Antonio Brown-Pittsburgh redemption story continues! While fans of the Steel City were ecstatic to welcome back the former All-Pro WR and fellow member of the Killer B’s trio, former Steelers All-Pro RB Le’Veon Bell, no one could have predicted that Brown still yearns to play for the Black and Gold in 2024.

It appears Brown wasn’t satisfied with simply representing the Black and Gold as a spectator during his Week 7 return to Pittsburgh. Brown stated on social media that his offer to finish out the 2024 season as a member of the Steelers roster still stands.

No one can deny the threat that a Russell Wilson-led Steelers offense would pose with A.B., George Pickens, and Mike Williams tearing through opposing secondaries.

Should General Manager Omar Khan and Head Coach Mike Tomlin take a chance on the 36-year-old wide receiver? His untimely and shocking exit from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during their Week 17 game of the 2021 season was the last time his talents graced an NFL field, but he has recently done his best to turn over a new leaf.

Steelers’ CB Beanie Bishop Jr. named Defensive Rookie of the Month

Steelers’ CB Beanie Bishop Jr. has become one of the team’s best 2024 acquisitions so far, and was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month.

K Chris Boswell isn’t the only Steelers player to earn recognition for his performance in the month of October. Rookie CB Beanie Bishop Jr., who seems to improve each week, has been named the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Month for his outstanding play in October.

Bishop turned heads in Week 7 when he intercepted four-time MVP QB Aaron Rodgers not once, but twice. In Week 8, the rookie intercepted QB Daniel Jones, sealing the victory for his team. The young slot cornerback has admirably filled what appeared to be an area of concern for the Steelers heading into the 2024 season.

With veteran CB Cameron Sutton, whose natural position is also in the slot, returning from suspension in Week 10, no one can truly justify benching Bishop after the rookie’s dominant performance in October.  Fans of the Steel City are more than excited to see what the future holds for the undrafted rookie.

What exactly does Roman Wilson need to prove to Mike Tomlin?

Mike Tomlin stated that ‘moving on’ from Roman Wilson was due to the rookie not showing enough, but what exactly does he need to prove?

When is the last time Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin openly spoke about moving on from a rookie? Roman Wilson and questions about his gameday availability appear to be a thorn in the sides of Tomlin and Offensive Coordinator Arthur Smith, as both have seemingly alluded to the rookie’s availability as vaguely as humanly possible.

It was confirmed last week that Wilson’s hamstring injury was not the reason he was held out of Week 7’s contest, but rather that he didn’t prove himself enough to Tomlin. That seems to be the big question: what exactly does the rookie third-rounder need to do?

Wilson will also miss Week 8’s Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants with the supposed hamstring ‘injury,’ but those who have seen the rookie in practice have stated that Wilson looks like he is the definitive WR2 for the offense.

In Wilson’s debut game, the rookie was only used on five snaps, with zero targets and zero receptions to show for it.  It is clear that Tomlin is either seeing something that everyone else isn’t, or the rookie wide receiver has ruffled the feathers of his head coach in some way.

AFC East roundup: What happened in the division in Week 7

AFC East roundup: What happened in the division in Week 7

The Buffalo Bills defeated the Tennessee Titans in Week 7 by a score of 34-10. With the win, the Bills remain atop the AFC East with a record of 5-2.

Like Buffalo, the rest of the AFC East was in action. How did each fare last week, and how does the division stack up right now?

Here is a quick recap of what went down in Week 7 with the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and New England Patriots:

Miami Dolphins

Going into their Week 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts, the Dolphins were still without starting quarterback Tua Tgovailoa. To make matters worse, their backup QB was injured in the game.

Tyler Huntley left the game with a shoulder injury and was replaced by Tim Boyle. Neither QB was effective as Dolphins wide receivers only caught four total passes. The Dolphins lost 16-10 and dropped to 2-4 on the year.

New York Jets

The Jets made headlines last week after trading for WR Davante Adams. But, even rekindling the relationship between him and Aaron Rodgers couldn’t get the team on track.

The Jets lost 37-15 to the Pittsburgh Steelers on ‘Sunday Night Football’. Rodgers threw two interceptions and running back Breece Hall only averaged 3.1 yards per carry. The loss has the Jets sitting at a disappointing 2-5 record after many in the offseason predicted they would make a run at the division title.

New England Patriots

The Patriots had to travel to London in Week 7 to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. They had a disappointing flight home after a 32-16 loss.

Their defense couldn’t make stops and their offensive line couldn’t protect their young QB Drake Maye. They allowed 32 points to the Jags who average 20 per game. The loss drops the Pats to 1-6 on the year.

Tyler Bass on support from Bills Mafia: ‘It really made me happy’

Tyler Bass on support from Bills Mafia: ‘It really made me happy’

Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass hasn’t had a year to write home about. It’s been largely inconsistent.

But through it all, Bills fans have still shown their support.

Bass expressed his pleasure with the home crowd after his perfect day in Week 7 when he made both field goal attempts and all four extra points in a 34-10 win over the Tennessee Titans.

It wasn’t just after making a kick that Bass felt the support. It was long before the game even started.

“When I got out there for pregame, man, there was a lot of love,” Bass said. “It was super cool to see. The true fans really love you unconditionally. And that made me really happy. They were there for me and have always been there for me.”

The bounce-back game from Bass came just a few days removed from head coach Sean McDermott saying he was “concerned” with his kicker. Bass’ inconsistencies have led to the Bills recently working out free-agent kickers and even signing one to the practice squad.

Although his longest on the day was only 30 yards, Bass did his job and he now has something to build off of. If Bass continues to kick like he did in Week 7, he won’t have anything to worry about.

The perfect game gave Bass a boost in his kicking stats. He now has made 11 of 14 field goal attempts (78.6%), which ranks 25th in the NFL.

Bass’s full comments can be found in the WGRZ-TV clip below:

Shannon Sharpe reacts to Sean Payton crushing the Saints on ‘TNF’

“[Bo Nix] has got some athleticism,” Sharpe said. “He can run — needs to work on his accuracy — but you can do a lot of things with him.”

Former Denver Broncos tight end and Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe teamed up with former All-Pro wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson to break down the Broncos’ 33-10 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 7.

After talking about the injury-depleted Saints team that had 17 players on the injury report going into the game, Johnson turned his attention to the Broncos and the passing game.

“I would like to see if the Broncos are playing a better team, I would like to see them getting the passing game going a little bit more,” said Johnson. “Courtland Sutton, you gotta get him involved. He’s making too much money to be out there getting cardio in.” Sutton finished Week 7 without a single target.

Johnson then went on to praise Denver rookie quarterback Bo Nix. “I like Bo Nix,” said Johnson. “Bo Nix got moxie. I don’t even know what moxie mean!”

Sharpe also commented on the rookie. “(Nix) has got some athleticism,” said the Hall of Famer. “He can run, needs to work on his accuracy, but you can do a lot of things with him.”

You can view the entire eight-minute exchange between the Ochocinco and Sharpe below.

The Broncos look to continue their momentum against the Carolina Panthers in Week 8.

Mecole Hardman addresses media after Chiefs’ Week 7 win vs. 49ers

Check out what #Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman had to say to NFL reporter Darren Smith after Kansas City’s Week 7 win over the San Francisco #49ers.

Mecole Hardman, who was instrumental in the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Fransisco 49ers back in February, made his presence felt at Levi’s Stadium in Week 7 to help the defending champions earn their sixth win of the regular season.

Hardman has proven to be a reliable target for Patrick Mahomes after wideouts Rashee Rice and Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown were placed on injured reserve earlier in the season.

Against San Fransisco, he managed to score a touchdown on an impressive run that helped keep the Chiefs in the lead late in Sunday’s game.

After Kansas City’s dominant win over the 49ers, Hardman spoke to NFL reporter Darren Smith in the locker room and shared how felt about the strength of the Chiefs’  receiving corps.

Check out this video of Hardman’s comments, which was posted to Twitter by Smith on Sunday evening:

Look for this veteran wide receiver to continue his run of dominance when  Kansas City travels to face off against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8.

Report: Chiefs DB to undergo surgery after sustaining serious injury vs. 49ers

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, #Chiefs DB Jaylen Watson is set to go under the knife after his injury against the #49ers in Week 7.

According to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson is set to go under the knife after sustaining a serious injury against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.

Watson was removed from the game during the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury, and his status was quickly downgraded to out.

Though the Chiefs haven’t given an official update on the third-year defender, Fowler’s report seems to indicate that he will miss extended time, and may be a candidate to be placed on Kansas City’s injured reserve list.

Take a look at Fowler’s report below, which was posted to Twitter on Tuesday morning:

If Watson’s injury proves to be season-ending, it would be a major blow to the Chiefs and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who will have to rely on less experienced replacements when Kansas City faces the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8.

Nick Bolton addresses media after Chiefs’ Week 7 win vs. 49ers

Take a look at what #Chiefs LB Nick Bolton said to NFL reporter Darren Smith after Kansas City’s Week 7 win over the San Francisco #49ers.

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton is having an incredible season, with 30 solo tackles logged through six games.

The former Missouri Tiger was a key part of Kansas City’s defensive game plan against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7 and logged six tackles in the Chiefs’ winning effort at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Bolton stopping the offense was key in securing the win for Kansas City and after two back-to-back Super Bowl wins including last season’s victory over San Fransisco this linebacker has the experience to get the job done.

He spoke to NFL reporter Darren Smith after the Chiefs’ victory over San Francisco and shared his thoughts on the Super Bowl LVIII rematch.

Check out this video of Bolton’s comments, which was posted to Twitter by Smith on Sunday evening:

Expect Bolton to be a key cog in defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s strategy to contain the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense in Week 8.
