New Orleans Saints special teams ace J.T. Gray teamed up with Justin Hardee for a big play on special teams, this time against the Panthers.

The New Orleans Saints have hurt themselves with some ugly penalties and poor execution, but they caught a big break early against the Carolina Panthers. A Thomas Morstead punt deflected off of Panthers wide receiver D.J. Moore, and the Saints recovered the live ball to keep their offense alive.
It was a huge opportunity, and they didn’t waste it. Drew Brees struck wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith for a touchdown catch a few plays later. It was all kicked off when Saints special teams ace Justin Hardee blocked his Panthers counterpart, Rashaan Gaulden, into Moore. Saints safety J.T. Gray was in the right spot at the right time to recover the loose ball.
Gray has made a few game-changing plays for the Saints on special teams this year, including a blocked punt that turned into a safety against the Chicago Bears back in Week 7. If the Saints are going to go the distance and win another Super Bowl, they’ll need more plays from unexpected sources — like Gray throwing a block to create this turnover.

The Detroit Lions Michigan Emmy winning documentary continues, this time featuring safety Tavon Wilson.
The Detroit Lions Michigan Emmy winning documentary series “Under the Helmet” premieres a new episode at Ford Field ahead of every home game. So far this season, the series has featured Romeo Okwara, Quandre Diggs, Kerryon Johnson, and Taylor Decker.
Next up: Lions safety Tavon Wilson.
For those unfamiliar with the series, it is led by Dustyn Blindert (Senior New Media Producer) and Eamonn Reynolds (Director of Football Communications), and it looks at Lions player’s lives off-the-field, giving fans a unique perspective on who the players are as individuals.
This episode opens with Wilson talking about what it was like growing up in a tough neighborhood and how he now reaches out to youth in the community, letting them know “their future is bigger than their environment, right now”.
The video then shifts to Wilson talking with youth about facing adversity head-on and not running from problems. He leans on his experiences of growing up in the projects without a mother (who died when he was 12 years old) or a father (who dies when he was only one year old) and that people are capable of overcoming adversity.
Wilson said he recognizes that the NFL provides him a platform to reach out and help others because that’s what he really wants to do. That line of thought transitions into the work he does to raise money for Lupus research as it has impacted his family.
Continuing with the family theme, Wilson then talks about his immediate family and how he enjoys spending time with them on his off days.
Wilson then spends some heartfelt time talking about his wife. Explaining how she is his biggest supporter, as well as the person who helped him break through barriers and overcome his fears.

Although the Seattle Seahawks were unable to attend QB Colin Kaepernick’s workout, coach Pete Carroll is going to review the video replay.
The Seattle Seahawks were not one of the seven teams around the league who attended free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s workout over the weekend, although the original plan was to have a staff member at the event.
NFL clubs were given very short notice about the workout to begin with last week, but when Kaepernick and his representatives changed the location and time Saturday morning, many who had arranged to be present weren’t able to adjust their schedules.
“I’m disappointed, we had planned to be at that workout,” coach Pete Carroll said Monday. “It got changed around and we couldn’t work with it. Unfortunately, we sent somebody but couldn’t stay with the changes that happened, we missed it. We were real curious. I was real curious to see how the workout went. Just competing as always.”
Carroll would not name the Seahawks representative sent to the workout, save for calling him “one of our guys.”
The workout was open to the media and was streamed live via YouTube. Carroll said he’s already watched a portion of the tape.
“We’re looking at everything, always,” Carroll added. “I’ve seen some of it so far.”

Here are highlights from the Vikings’ win over the Broncos in Week 11.

After jumping out to a 20-0 lead over the Vikings on the road in Week 11, the Broncos squandered their big first half and lost 27-23.
“We didn’t play well enough,” coach Vic Fangio said of the team’s second half performance. “They went no huddle, started throwing it a lot. We didn’t defend it well enough. We had our chances.
“They completed that one third and 15 or whatever it was, and that shouldn’t have happened. That allowed that drive to go. We just couldn’t make a play to get off the field there in the second half. Their passing game was way better than our pass defense.”
Fangio went on to praise his players for their performance.
“We didn’t lose that game because we didn’t play hard enough,” the coach said. “We had a good effort from a physical standpoint. They’re a good football team. They have a good record. They’re one of the best teams in the league. We just didn’t quite get it done.”
Up next for Denver is a road game against the Bills (7-3) in Week 12.

Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton completed a 38-yard pass to Tim Patrick during Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
The Broncos pulled a Wild Cat play out of their playbook in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Vikings and put the ball in the hands of wide receiver Courtland Sutton — who then completed a pass!
Sutton connected with wide receiver Tim Patrick on a 38-yard pass after taking a handoff from running back Phillip Lindsay. Here’s video of the play, courtesy of the team’s official Twitter page:

After the big play from Sutton and Patrick, Denver went on to score on a one-yard touchdown run by fullback Andy Janovich.
The Broncos currently lead 17-0 Minnesota early in the second quarter.

John Elway and Peyton Manning quarterbacked the four Broncos squads that made the NFL’s list of 100 greatest teams in league history.
In celebration of the league’s 100 years, the Associated Press created a list of the 100 greatest teams in NFL history and NFL Network put together a countdown series based on the list.
Four Denver Broncos teams made the cut.
Coming in at No. 86 on the list is the 2013 Broncos, a team that smashed offensive records in the regular season but suffered an embarrassing loss in the Super Bowl.

Denver’s 2015 team is ranked No. 58, which many Broncos fans would say is too low. It’s a fitting number, though, given that outside linebacker Von Miller wore No. 58 when he earned MVP honors in Super Bowl 50.

Just nine spots up in the rankings from the 2013 squad, Denver’s 1997 team is ranked No. 50. Again, many Broncos fans probably feel that’s too low.

It’s no surprise that Denver’s highest-ranked squad is the 1998 team, which started the year 13-0 on the way to a convincing Super Bowl win. That team is ranked No. 14 on the list.

NFL Films made a feature documentary on Detroit Lions’ legendary running back Billy Sims and you can watch it in its entirety right here.
The video opens with Detroit-native Keegan-Michael Key discussing how when he was a kid, he fell in love with the Lions because of Sims. He would go on to discuss — with a video clip — of an exciting play from Sims, and that got him hooked on football.
The play Key discussed checked in as the 98th greatest play in NFL history and when Sims was told about this he laughed joyously and replied, “Really?” — it was one of many great plays highlighted in this feature documentary.
The video focuses on Sims’ football career, with commentary from players and coaches who have crossed roads with him at some point in their lives, including Hall-of-Famer Barry Sanders, former Lions quarterback Eric Hipple, and former Dallas Cowboys coach Barry Switzer — who coached Sims at the University of Oklahoma, where he won the Heisman trophy.
When Sims’ career was over — due to injury after just four and a half seasons — he was never far away from the Lions. He recommended to then-coach Wayne Fontes to draft Barry Sanders and was on hand to congratulate Sanders when he broke Sims’ Lions’ All-time rushing record.
The feature concludes by showing Sims’ life off the field and how his outgoing personality has help him launch a second career in the BBQ restaurant business.
