WATCH: Officer pulls gun on former Redskin Bashaud Breeland during arrest

Kansas City Chiefs CB Bashaud Breeland was arrested on April 29th, and video of the arrest has finally been released.

An unsettling video of former Washington Redskin Bashaud Breeland’s arrest as been released by TMZ Sports, showing the Kansas City Chiefs cornerback resisting arrest by a Sheriff Deputy and staring down the barrel of a gun at one point.

Breeland was reportedly arrested on April 29th, and faces charges of resisting arrest, having alcohol in a motor vehicle with the seal broken, having an open container of beer or wine in a motor vehicle, possession of 28 grams or less of marijuana or 10 grams of hash and driving without a license.

The Chiefs have said that they are aware of the situation, and coach Andy Reid told TMZ that he has spoken with Breeland since.

Watch: Saints UDFA Adrian Magee pancakes two defenders on one play

It’s easy to see why LSU Tigers guard Adrian Magee caught the New Orleans Saints’ attention, having destroyed two opponents at once in 2019.

[jwplayer aZ0F2sV4-ThvAeFxT]

One of the first rules NFL scouts learn is that you shouldn’t base an entire evaluation off of one play, good or bad. But it’s tough to not be impressed by the destruction LSU Tigers guard and New Orleans Saints rookie free agent Adrian Magee accomplished last year against Vanderbilt.

Magee quickly dispatched his first opponent on a passing play early in the second quarter, and assumed that future Heisman Trophy winner and first-overall draft pick Joe Burrow had already thrown the ball to his target. But to Magee’s surprise, Burrow was still alert in the pocket, eyes downfield. So Magee got back to work.

Another Commodores defender was blocked into Magee’s path, so he did the sensible thing and leveled the newcomer into the turf, achieving a pair of “pancake” blocks twice within a few heartbeats. That’s a rare feat for a blocker at any level, and he’ll be hoping to bring that same nasty streak with him to New Orleans.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid on CB Bashaud Breeland: ‘We’ll let it play out with law enforcement’

Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid comments on the Tuesday arrest of CB Bashaud Breeland.

[protected-iframe id=”0f398e4127466a77757c1f323f5ed2e3-105974720-107785976″ info=”https://share.tmz.com/videos/042920-nfl-arrest-4776844-0-7xcmc8n4/” width=”560″ height=”395″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen=””]

Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid briefly spoke on the arrest of cornerback Bashaud Breeland during a press conference on Friday. This is the first time that we’ve heard from the organization since Breeland’s arrest on Tuesday. Reid said that he’s spoken with Breeland since the incident and he sort of laid forth what the Chiefs’ plan to do moving forward.

“Yeah, I have [spoken with Breeland],” Reid said. “I’ve talked to him. Right now, it’s a little bit of what Brett (Veach) mentioned yesterday. Just that, we’ll let it play out with law enforcement side of things and evaluate it from there.”

The team won’t be rushing to judgment, they’re going to let law enforcement do their job and make a decision. They’ll let that decision inform their next actions in regards to Breeland.

Reid also noted that he has seen the video of the incident, taken by an observer, which was released by TMZ Sports today. You can see that video at the top of the page. The video shows an officer drawing his firearm on Breeland as he attempts to get into his vehicle.

“What we do with this, Herbie (Teope), is we’re just going to let the law enforcement part of it take its course,” Reid said. “Let’s see what exactly went on with the situation. I know there is video out there. I’ve seen the video, I’ve talked to (Bashaud Breeland). Let’s find out what the base of this thing was and what caused everything to take place. I’m curious to see that part, as we all are I think. Then we’ll evaluate it from there. We’ve always done this. We’ve always let law enforcement kind of take it and we go from there.”

In the event that any decisions are made that would lead to Breeland’s suspension or release, Reid also mentioned that Brett Veach has, “done a nice job of loading up” at the cornerback position. He believes that the team is in a good position to handle any losses at that position from a disciplinary standpoint, injury or otherwise.

Netane Muti’s college highlights are absolutely insane

Broncos guard Netane Muti destroyed defensive linemen in college!

The Denver Broncos selected Fresno State guard Netane Muti in the sixth round of 2020 NFL Draft on Saturday and they might have landed an absolute steal.

Muti (6-3, 315 pounds) is crazy strong (he did 44 bench-press reps at the combine) and he destroyed defensive linemen in college. Here are some highlights from his freshman season in 2017:

Unfortunately, Muti was sidelined for all but six games over the last two years as he recovered from Achilles and Lisfranc injuries. His health struggles from 2018-2019 caused him to have a big drop in the draft.

If he’s healthy now, though, Denver landed a sixth-round gem.

“We felt that we were going to be taking a little bit of a risk with the medical,” Broncos GM John Elway said of Muti after the draft. “But really felt at the top of the sixth round, we were getting tremendous value and it was worth the risk to be able to go ahead and take a chance on him.”

Watch: Jaylinn Hawkins makes crazy one-handed INT

The Falcons made just six picks during the 2020 NFL Draft, but general manager Thomas Dimitroff made those picks count by finding players that can contribute right away.

The Falcons made just six picks during the 2020 NFL Draft, but general manager Thomas Dimitroff made those picks count by finding players that can contribute right away.

Late in the fourth round, the team took California safety Jaylinn Hawkins with the pick Atlanta received from the Baltimore Ravens in the Hayden Hurst trade.

Hawkins is a guy that should help right away on special teams as a gunner, while providing depth and emergency-starter insurance. His athleticism is matched only by his confidence, which you can see in this spectacular one-handed interception against Stanford below:

Hawkins is an exciting guy to listen to, and he clearly isn’t shy about the variety of things he can do. Watch below as he talks about his versatility to play as both a deep safety and an in-the-box defender:

Check out these highlights of new Broncos CB Essang Bassey

Here are highlights of new Broncos defensive back Essang Bassey!

The Denver Broncos signed seven college free agents after the draft, including defensive back Essang Bassey. Here are highlights from Bassey’s senior season at Wake Forest:

Bassey (5-9, 191 pounds) was one of the top undrafted free agents available this year. During his final three seasons at Wake Forest, Bassey broke up 35 passes, the most of any defensive back in college football during that timeframe.

Bassey’s competition for a roster spot in Denver will include Duke Dawson, De’Vante Bausby, Davontae Harris, Shakial Taylor and Isaac Yiadom. A.J. Bouye and Bryce Callahan (assuming he’s healthy) will probably be locks to make the roster, as will be third-round pick Michael Ojemudia.

If he doesn’t make the 53-man roster, Bassey would be a strong candidate for the practice squad. Given that some pre-draft predictions had him being a fifth-round pick, Bassey seems to have a good chance of making the team.

Check out these highlights of new Broncos RB LeVante Bellamy

Here are highlights of new Broncos running back LeVante Bellamy!

The Denver Broncos signed seven college free agents after the draft, including running back LeVante Bellamy. Here are highlights from Bellamy’s time at Western Michigan:

Bellamy (5-9, 192 pounds) ran a 4.5-second 40-yard dash and bench-pressed 225 pounds 16 times at the combine. He received a $25,000 signing bonus from Denver, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

During his time at Western Michigan, Bellamy rushed 617 times for 3,720 yards and 35 touchdowns. He also caught 57 passes for 370 yards and another touchdown.

Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay are both Pro Bowlers so their roster spots are safe. Bellamy will be competing with Royce Freeman, Khalfani Muhammad and Jeremy Cox for the third-string job on the Broncos’ depth chart. If he doesn’t make the 53-man roster, Bellamy should be able to make the team’s practice squad.

Freeman hasn’t quite lived up to his draft status but he still has an affordable contract and will probably be the favorite to win the No. 3 RB job.

Watch the moment Broncos GM John Elway called Derrek Tuszka

Here’s video of when GM John Elway told Derrek Tuszka he was going to be a Bronco.

The Denver Broncos selected edge defender Derrek Tuszka in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft on Saturday. Here’s video of when Elway told Tuszka he was going to be a Bronco:

Tuszka played defensive end in college but he will likely transition to outside linebacker in Denver and compete for rotational playing time.
