Fresh off second trip to UF, 4-star OT talking official visit

Billy Napier seems to be making it a personal mission to get this 4-star OT out of Louisiana.

Four-star offensive tackle [autotag]Tyree Adams[/autotag] visited the University of Florida for the first time on April 5. On Monday, June 6, he returned to participate in a one-day camp with the Gators’ coaching staff and may be planning another visit already.

Gators Online reported that Adams is looking at the Oct. 15 matchup between Florida and LSU, the hometown team in the hunt, for his official visit to UF. Beating the Tigers in Gainesville would be hard to ignore, and [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] wants this recruit. The Gators’ head coach talks regularly with Adams and is treating him as a priority recruit.

“Yesterday at the camp, I did really well,” Adams said Tuesday to Gators Online.  They show me consistent love each and every day. Coach Juluke, he texts me and asks how I’m doing often. With coach Sale, he texts me from time to time and just asks how I’m doing. Coach Napier texts me a lot too and showing me what Florida is all about.”

Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss are the other programs set to receive official visits from Adams. The Crimson Tide will get him on Oct. 7 and that’s the only scheduled visit as of now.

LSU is the favorite right now to win over Adams, but there’s plenty of time to pry the New Orleans native out of Louisiana. It helps that Napier spent the last three years around those parts and has the kind of style Adams likes.

“He is a great coach. He’s cool, calm and collected,” he said. “He is the type of coach who doesn’t have to yell at you to get your attention. I really like that.

“The discipline he wants from his players is top-tier. He’s a really great guy to be around.”

The On3 consensus ranks Adams No. 210 overall in the class of 2023 and No. 20 among offensive tackles. The service’s individual rankings shed a more favorable light on him, perhaps the same light Napier sees him in, at No. 118 overall and No. 14 at his position.

This 5-star QB had an ‘eye-opening’ visit to Florida last week

Florida and Billy Napier wowed five-star quarterback Jalen Rashada on an unofficial visit last week. Could an official one be in the works before his June 18 commitment date?

A missed flight cut into things, but five-star quarterback recruit [autotag]Jaden Rashada[/autotag] out of Pittsburg, California, made it to Gainesville on Thursday and spent two days in the Swamp with the Florida Gators football team.

Whatever his impression was of the Orange and Blue coming into the visit was completely changed over the course of the trip, and Rashada is now considering taking an official visit to UF, according to 247Sports.

“The visit was eye-opening for me,” Rashada said. “I was really impressed with everything they had to offer and really enjoyed getting to know coach (Billy) Napier and coach (Ryan) O’Hara.”

Being developed as a quarterback is something that matters a lot to Rashada, and Napier made him feel like Florida is one of the better landing spots for a young pass thrower. The city of Gainesville suits Rasahada as well. He says he already feels comfortable on campus and likes the big college town atmosphere.

Rashada is set to commit on June 18 and will pick from a final seven of Florida, California, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon and Texas A&M. That’s 19 days away, and the 6-foot-4-inch, 185-pounder still wants to take officials in that short time. A pushed-back decision date could be in the works, but it’s crunch time for his top seven until Rashada says otherwise.

“I’m hoping to take 2-3 official visits but haven’t set those yet,” he said. “I’m hoping by Monday I’ll have those locked in but I still haven’t decided on those yet. My commitment date is coming up pretty soon though so I do feel a sense of urgency to get those set and then get back on the road before making my decision.”

Rashada is the No. 30 overall recruit in the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports composite, and is also ranked No. 5 among quarterbacks.

Four-star cornerback sets visit to Auburn

Auburn will have an important visitor during March.

Auburn will be getting a talented cornerback on campus next week. Four-star cornerback Avieon Terrell will be visiting The Plains on Monday, March 14, for an unofficial visit.

Terrell is coming off a strong performance at the Atlanta Under Armour Camp where he impressed with his improved coverage skills. He is the younger brother of former Clemson cornerback and current Atlanta Falcons star A.J. Terrell.

Terrell is being recruited by several top schools including the Florida Gators, Clemson Tigers, and the LSU Tigers. While he has an obvious connection to Clemson, Auburn getting him for a visit is important.

Rivals’ views Terrell as a top-110 prospect in the 2023 class and a top-20 cornerback while ESPN, 247 and On3 are a little lower on him.

Report: Lakeland 4-star WR planning March visit with Florida

Lakeland High has produced some quality recruits in the past that went on to play for Florida. Could this 4-star wide receiver be the next?

Four-star wide receiver Tyler Williams is the latest elite recruit to come out of Lakeland High, and he’s set to meet with the Florida Gators’ new staff in March, according to On3.

Florida has had plenty of success landing Lakeland recruits in the past, but this will be the first attempt by new coach Billy Napier. The Dreadnaughts have produced some of the very best to wear to the Orange and Blue, including the Pouncey twins.

“A lot of players from Lakeland have gone to play at Florida,” Williams said. “So there is some real history there. They have a new coaching staff, so I want to visit and meet them in March.”

Williams was on campus in November for the Florida State game, but that was before Napier was named the coach. The overall experience impressed him, but the coaches need to be the right fit as well. Wide receivers coach Keary Colbert has already established a relationship with Williams, and Napier checks in regularly.

“I am looking for the right fit for me,” he said. “It may be in state, it may be out of state, I just want to find the right fit. I am not sure what number I will get down to, but I want to make a smaller list later this spring.”

Right now the number of offers on Williams’ table is nearing 40, so narrowing it down to the very best only makes sense. That makes the March trip even more important for Florida. Williams will make stops by Stanford and Georgia before heading to Gainesville, and he’s already been by Miami and Clemson this year.

Napier wants to keep the best players from Florida in the state, and Williams fits the bill. The university’s history should help in the recruiting pitch, but it might be Napier’s ability to make players feel comfortable that helps out the most.

Gators lead in the race for this 2023 OT

Billy Napier has his eyes on an offensive tackle for the class of 2023, and he was at the Swamp this weekend.

One of the many underclassmen visiting over the final weekend of the 2022 recruiting cycle was 2023 offensive tackle Tommy Kinsler.

Kinsler, a three-star recruit from nearby Ocala Trinity Catholic, has been to the university several times but not since the new staff took over. He met the new staff on Saturday, spending most of his time with offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton, according to 247Sports.

Florida has been Kinsler’s top school for some time now. The last staff extended him his first-ever offer back in April, and Billy Napier confirmed that the new staff was still offering a scholarship this weekend.

“Florida is still on top for me,” Kinsler said. “It’s just the atmosphere they have there and they keep it about family there. They treat you like family up there, so I really like it. The staff is just really different from the old one. The whole staff now treats you like family.”

Florida’s proximity to home gives the Gators the edge over the other programs that have offered him so far. Louisville, Maryland, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee are interested, but he’s only visited Florida State and Miami aside from his three trips to the Swamp.

Although the Gators are at the top of Kinsler’s list, he’ll be waiting to make an announcement. He plans on committing in the middle of his senior year or at the end of it.

Kinsler is ranked No. 39 at his position on the 247Sports Composite and is ranked No. 529 overall nationally.

LOOK: Former Oklahoma commit Jordan Hudson in a Texas uniform

With Jordan Hudson now on a UOV, Steve Sarkisian and Co. has a chance to impress. You can see the four-star WR posed in a UT uniform here:

Oklahoma stole one of Texas’ best commits in four-star ATH Billy Bowman during the 2021 cycle. The Denton Ryan product was sold on the Sooners’ coaching staff and the possibility of playing offense under Lincoln Riley.

Texas is now looking for revenge in the form of Jordan Hudson. A long-time Oklahoma commit, Hudson reopened his recruitment in the middle of June. Steve Sarkisian knew a special product was available and got him to the 40 Acres as soon as possible.

Before getting to Austin, Hudson took an official visit to the hometown school in SMU over the weekend. Similar to Savion Byrd’s recruitment last year, the Mustangs are going for a big named recruit against a college football blue-blood.

With Hudson now on an unofficial visit, Sarkisian and the staff have the chance to impress. The four-star receiver posed with the Director of Recruiting Brandon Harris. You can see the photo below:

Getting Hudson to make a trip to Austin was excellent work by the Texas staff. After his decommitment from Oklahoma, SMU was instantly seen as the favorite to land the Garland native. Crystal ball predictions even began to flood in for the wide receiver in favor of the Mustangs.

After the Jake Smith transfer, Texas is going to have another spot open at wide receiver in the ’22 class. Adding Hudson onto Armani Winfield plus other targets Andre Coleman is pursuing (Evan Stewart, Brenen Thompson), would be a dream haul.

On the 247Sports composite, Hudson is the No. 14 wide receiver and No. 113 player overall in the country. Within the state of Texas, he skims inside the top 25 at No. 23.
