Will massive four-star DT Jamaal Jarret chose Georgia football?

Jamaal Jarret (6-foot-6, 350 pounds) is a MAJOR target for the Dawgs. Commitment decision comes July 19…

One of the nation’s top defensive tackles, Jamaal Jarret, has Georgia football among his top-3 schools, including the Bulldogs, North Carolina and Auburn.

Standing 6-foot-6, 350 pounds as a rising senior, Jarret’s frame and motor make him one of the top defensive targets in the entire 2023 class.

Jarret, out of Grimsley High School in Greensboro, N.C., will be committing on July 19.

Some liken Jarret to a former Georgia defensive lineman from North Carolina with a similar frame – 2022 NFL first-round draft pick Jordan Davis.

We got a chance to see first hand how UGA’s defense could use a player like that in its scheme last season. Davis walked away with the 2021 Outland Trophy and Chuck Bednarik Award.

Will Jarrett chose Georgia?

The Bulldogs may have solidified themselves as the top defensive line developers in all of college football in its national championship season after producing three first-round picks this spring, including the No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker.

You can thank defensive line coach Trey Scott for some impressive efforts there.

Returning star Jalen Carter is listed by most experts as a top-3 pick in 2023, so it seems UGA’s reign on the defensive line will continue into Jarret’s freshman year next fall.

With North Carolina and Auburn’s coaches on the hot-seat headed into this season, the stability, development and toughness Georgia’s defense is known for has to be an intriguing pull for the Dawgs.

Jarret spoke on his recent visit to Athens last week.

“It was one of the best ones I have had yet, he said. “It was just awesome, man. Great experience. I am definitely going to go back for a game.”

UGA even brought in Philadelphia Eagle Davis to give some insight on just how good he could be at Georgia.

“Jordan Davis had a 1-on-1 with me and my family,” Jarrett said. “He said ‘You know what to do if you want to be great’ and ‘Look at the people that played before me’ and ‘Look at the people that played with me’ and he was like pretty much ‘Come be a ‘Dawg’ so it was awesome, man.”

247Sports recruiting experts currently have Jarret predicted to commit to the Bulldogs.

That would give the Dawgs’ No. 4 class another boost after gaining pledges from five-star corner A.J. Harris, four-star linebacker C.J. Allen and one of the nation’s top kickers Peyton Woodring this past week.

4-star LB CJ Allen commits to Georgia football

That’s 3 commitments in 4 days. Highlights here!

Georgia football received its third commitment in four days on Monday, when four-star linebacker C.J. Allen chose the Bulldogs over Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, LSU and more.

Allen joins five-star corner A.J. Harris and kicker Peyton Woodring as the Dawgs’ latest pledges.

Allen, out of Lamar County High School in Barnesville, Ga., chose UGA just one day after visiting Tennessee in Knoxville.

Allen (6-foot-1, 217 pounds) is a multi-sport athlete who participates in both basketball and track & field on top of playing both offense and defense for the Trojans.

In his junior season, Allen racked up 91 tackles and three interceptions, while rushing for 1,080 yards and 16 touchdowns at running back.

Here’s a look at Allen’s 2021 season:

The Bulldogs now have 12 commits in the 2023 class, and have jumped from 10th in the nation to No. 3 in under a week.

No. 3 EDGE Jayden Wayne includes Georgia football among top-6 schools

5-star EDGE has Georgia at the top…

2023 five-star defensive lineman Jayden Wayne has named Georgia football among his top-six schools.

Wayne (6-foot-5, 245 pounds) named Georgia, Alabama, Miami, LSU, Michigan State and Oregon.

Out of Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Wa., Wayne is rated as the No. 1 player in Washington, the No. 3 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 28 overall recruit in the 2023 class, according to 247Sports Composite.

Wayne already has the frame and motor to be an SEC EDGE. Check out his athleticism on offense here at All-American Bowl practice.

The Bulldogs currently hold the No. 6 class in the 2023 cycle.

2023 5-star LB Malik Bryant sets commitment date

Georgia is expected to be in the running for five-star linebacker prospect Malik Bryant, who received a recent visit from Kirby Smart via helicopter.

Georgia football has the nation’s fourth-ranked class for the 2023 recruiting cycle. Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs currently have commitments from seven 2023 prospects.

Now, Georgia is expected to be in the running for five-star linebacker prospect Malik Bryant. Bryant set his commitment date for July 23 along with fellow elite Orlando area recruit Payton Kirkland.

Malik Bryant has previously visited the University of Georgia. Will he commit to the same school as Payton Kirkland?

Bryant is ranked as the No. 27 linebacker in the class of 2023 per 247Sports. He is the second-ranked linebacker in the recruiting cycle and the eighth-ranked player in Florida.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound linebacker Orlando native was a MaxPreps sophomore All-American. Bryant played for IMG Academy for two seasons before returning home to Jones High School in Orlando, Florida.

Malik Bryant must have been impressed with Georgia’s 2021 national championship season and the Bulldogs’ performance at the NFL combine. Bryant received a special visit from Georgia coach Kirby Smart, via helicopter, on Jan. 20. Nick Saban has also visited Bryant.

Bryant has released a list of top schools:

The five-star is considering Arizona State, Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Maryland, Oregon, Florida, and Miami. Where will Malik Bryant play college football?

The Bulldogs finished with the No. 3 class of 2022. Georgia is one of the best programs in the country in recruiting and developing elite linebacker talent.
