Social media remembers Georgia mascot Que

Georgia Bulldogs mascot Que, who is know as Uga X, has peacefully passed away at the age of 10

Georgia Bulldogs mascot Que, who is known as Uga X, has passed away peacefully in its sleep according to the University of Georgia. Que lived to be 10 years old.

Que began his career at Uga for the Georgia-Charleston Southern game in 2015. Georgia won a pair of national championships (2021, 2022) during his tenure. 2021 was Georgia’s first national championship since 1980. Que finished his career as Georgia’s beloved mascot going 91-18 from 2015-2022.

Que passed on the reigns to Uga XI, known as Boom, at the 2023 Georgia football spring game. Boom went 13-1 in his first season as the Georgia mascot.

Social media was saddened to hear of Que’s passing and remembered some of his top moments.

Lee Corso apologizes to Uga, who may not have accepted his apology

After many years, Uga got some revenge on Lee Corso, who called the Georgia football mascot ugly back in 2008. ‘He s— right on my foot.’

ESPN “College GameDay” personality Lee Corso memorably picked against the Georgia Bulldogs in 2008. Instead of picking Georgia, Corso correctly picked the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In the process of making his headgear pick, Corso called Georgia’s beloved mascot, Uga, ugly on the GameDay set. This upset many Georgia football fans, but not as much as Georgia’s disappointing 31-0 first-half performance against the Crimson Tide.

It’s all good now, because Georgia has won back-to-back national championships to ease some of the pain of past shortcomings.

Recently, Corso tried to apologize to Uga, but Uga had a different idea. When Corso filmed his apology to Uga, the Georgia mascot gained some revenge, and Corso wasn’t prepared when Uga went into action.

He s— right on my foot.

Understandably, Corso had to do another take after Uga got some funny revenge.

Here’s the full video of Uga surprising Lee Corso:

Uga and Lee Corso still may have some differences, but we’ll call it even for now!

New Uga debuting at Georgia football spring game

A new Uga mascot is debuting at the G-Day game on April 15

A new Uga mascot is scheduled to make its debut at Georgia football’s 2023 spring game on April 15. Uga XI, who is known as Boom, is ready to take over the hearts of fans throughout Sanford Stadium.

Boom is the latest white English bulldog to represent the University of Georgia.

Boom is rumored to have an interest in air conditioned dog houses and a penchant for ice packs on hot, sunny days. Uga XI will be introduced during pregame ceremonies shortly before the 4 p.m. EDT kickoff. The G-Day game will be televised on ESPN2.

Georgia football announced the news of the latest Uga via Twitter:

Boom will have high expectations from the start. He succeeds Uga X, who is coming off winning back-to-back national championships. He won the most of any Uga.

The new mascot will succeed Uga X, affectionately known as Que, who will retire as the winningest mascot in Georgia history.

Que was two and half years old when he began his reign as Georgia’s beloved mascot in 2015. He compiled an impressive 91-18 record, which included back-to-back College Football Playoff National Championships, two SEC titles and victories in the Rose, Sugar, Orange and Peach bowls.

If everything goes as planned, Boom will make his regular-season debut at Sanford Stadium on Sept. 2 against Tennessee-Martin.

Battle of the Bulldogs: Georgia versus Mississippi State series history

The Georgia Bulldogs have a dominant series record against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. UGA football is favored again in 2020.

The Georgia Bulldogs will play against an ailing, transfer, and opt-out weakened Mississippi State squad this Saturday. In the battle of the Bulldogs, Georgia will start a new quarterback against Mike Leach’s 2-4 team.

Historically, Georgia has dominated the series against Mississippi State, who has had some of their best football seasons in recent years. As long as the SEC plays an eight conference game schedule we won’t see too many games between the two foes.

Georgia football mascot ‘Uga’ will not be on sidelines for 2020 season

Georgia football’s iconic mascot ‘Uga’ will not be on the sidelines for Georgia football games in 2020 due to COVID-19 protocols.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, Georgia’s beloved mascot ‘Uga’ will not be in attendance on the sidelines for the 2020 football season.

This is the first time an Uga will not be present on the sidelines for a home game since November 21, 2009 when Uga VII died unexpectedly just two days prior.

Uga X took over for Uga IX on November 21, 2015.

“It’s my understanding the SEC and NCAA consider the field a ‘bubble,’ and the only people allowed in the bubble are essential,” said Charles Seiler, Uga X’s handler and owner. “As of now, no dog on the field.”

This is truly some sad news as many Bulldog fans know that players and fans both harness their energy through the white English bulldog.  Uga is a massive fan attraction that will be missed dearly during the 2020 season.

We wish Uga many bones and treats during his leave of absence, knowing he will be between the hedges on Saturdays in spirit.
