Georgia football looks to get back on track for a playoff run with a matchup on Saturday vs. Kentucky in Lexington.

After a week-off following a tough loss at Alabama, Georgia football looks to get back on track for a playoff run with a matchup on Saturday vs. Kentucky in Lexington.

The Wildcats will be starting Auburn transfer Joey Gatewood at quarterback over Terry Wilson due to injury, making it even tougher for an offense that ran only 36 plays last week vs. Missouri.

Look for the Dawgs to run away with this one.

Here’s what Kentucky’s media is saying about the Bulldogs.

Georgia vs Kentucky: Expert picks and predictions

The UGA Wire staff presents our weekly expert score, stat and game predictions ahead of Georgia football at Kentucky.

The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs (3-1, 3-1) travel to Lexington this Saturday to face off against the Kentucky Wildcats (2-3, 2-3).

Kentucky began the season ranked 23rd but have since dropped after losing three of five games.  The Wildcats are definitely sneaky this year, beating a Mississippi State team by a score of 24 – 2 as well as Tennessee by 27 points.  That margin of victory over the Vols is larger than Georgia’s.

Georgia enters this game coming off a loss at Alabama two weeks ago and a bye week last week.  Kentucky comes into this matchup following a 20-10 loss last week to Missouri.

Saturday’s kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 P.M. ET on SEC Network.

With that said, the UGA Wire staff has put together a number of score, stat and game predictions ahead of Saturday’s matchup.

Here are the picks:

Preview: Dawgs get road rematch vs Kentucky

Georgia basketball has a tough test on Tuesday.

The Georgia Bulldogs are in need of a win after Mississippi State thrashed them on Saturday in Starkville, dropping them to eleventh place in the SEC early on in conference play.

On Tuesday, the Dawgs will get a chance to avenge another previous loss this season to the Kentucky Wildcats, in a game UGA led at halftime but faltered down the stretch to lose in front of a packed Stegeman Coliseum.

In order to beat the Wildcats this time around in enemy territory, the Dawgs will need to play a much more physical brand of basketball than they did during the matchup on January 7th, in which Kentucky dominated the glass in the second half and slowed the game down to play at their pace.

UGA will also need freshman sensation Anthony Edwards to replicate the Herculean performance he displayed last week in a home win over Tennessee, in which he scored 20 points in the first half alone.

Needless to say, this will not be an easy matchup for Tom Crean and company. We’ll see how they fare in this tough SEC contest.

Preview: Georgia basketball takes on Kentucky at home

The Dawgs have another tough test Tuesday at home against Kentucky

On Tuesday, the Georgia Bulldogs will begin their SEC schedule with a bang as they take on the Kentucky Wildcats in Athens.

The Dawgs will be coming off the biggest win of Tom Crean’s tenure thus far on Saturday as they went into the Fedex Forum and stunned the ninth-ranked Memphis Tigers on the road. Although it wasn’t his most efficient game, Anthony Edwards still got timely baskets and made big plays en route to the victory.

The fourteenth-ranked Wildcats are coming off of a comfortable home win over Missouri in their first SEC game of the season. They are led in scoring by guard Tyrese Maxey at 13.8 points per game. Tuesday night will be their first road game of the season.

The Dawgs should be riding high after their huge win on Saturday, but will need to play just as well if not better if they are going to get their second straight win over a ranked opponent. Georgia has not beaten Kentucky in several years, despite playing the Wildcats tough on numerous occasions.

We have seen how close the Bulldogs can play Kentucky of late, but finishing the job is a whole different story. 2015 or 2017 bring back any memories? How about those SEC Tournament games?

We’ll talk more on that later before the ball tips in Athens.
