Social media praises Georgia freshman RB Nate Frazier’s debut

Georgia football running back Nate Frazier draws praise from Todd Gurley, Kendall Milton and Nick Saban

Georgia Bulldogs fans and former players are loving what they saw out of true freshman running back Nate Frazier. Frazier took 11 carries for 83 yards and scored a touchdown in his debut against the Clemson Tigers.

He earned strong praise from former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban on ESPN’s “College GameDay.”

“I don’t know how much faith Kirby’s (Smart) got in him, but I thought he was the No. 1 running back in the country last year,” said Saban.

Frazier was a four-star recruit in the class of 2024 and was ranked as the second-best running back in the country. His explosiveness was immediately a difference-maker for the Bulldogs. Frazier had significantly more success running than Branson Robinson, who started for Georgia.

The Bulldogs suspended running back Trevor Etienne for the season opener and will be without Roderick Robinson for several more weeks. Robinson was not putting any weight on his injured foot at the Clemson game after undergoing turf toe surgery.

“Nate really like that,” said former Georgia running back Kendall Milton via social media.

“Let’s go,” said former Georgia legend Todd Gurley, who also had a massive game against Clemson.

UGA freshman RB out for the season with torn ACL

Who has to step up following the injury to freshman RB Andrew Paul?

Georgia Bulldogs true freshman running back Andrew Paul is expected to take a redshirt during the 2022 season after suffering a torn ACL. Paul suffered the unfortunate injury during Georgia’s second fall scrimmage.

Now, Georgia will rely more heavily on freshman running back Branson Robinson. The Bulldogs are hoping that junior running back Kendall Milton can heal up ahead of the season opener against the Oregon Ducks on Sept. 3. Milton has missed practice time with a hamstring injury that is not too serious.

Georgia has lost some depth at offensive skill positions this offseason and is a little banged up at wide receiver and running back. Fortunately, Georgia has excellent depth in the backfield with Kenny McIntosh and Daijun Edwards as other reliable options at the position.

Andrew Paul is a former three-star running back recruit. He played high school football for Parish Episcopal in Dallas, Texas.

The Parish Episcopal standout had 2,612 rushing yards and 44 total touchdowns in his senior high school season.

Andrew Paul was a late signing in Georgia’s class of 2022. Interestingly, Georgia will face Oregon freshman running back Jordan James, who flipped his commitment from Georgia to Oregon, in the season opener. James was a four-star recruit.

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top schools for four-star running back Jordan James. The University of Georgia football program offered James a scholarship in May.

James is a talented running back, who is a member of the class of 2022. The four-star plays football for Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Murfreesboro is located outside of Nashville and is a 4-5 hour car ride to Athens, Georgia.

James is 5 feet, 10 inches and weighs 200 pounds. He has good size for a running back. The high school junior has received offers from Georgia, Alabama, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and more.

Jordan James puts Georgia, Florida State, Alabama and Tennessee in his top four schools. James released his top four via his Twitter account:

We will keep you updated throughout James’ recruitment. Kirby Smart and UGA are still looking for their first running back commitment in the class of 2022. Georgia always finds a way to land a talented running back recruit.

Running Back KJ McCoy (No. 39):

Class: Redshirt Freshman

Height: 5-10

Weight: 200 pounds

Hometown: Swainsboro, Georgia

High School: Swainsboro High School

Georgia Bulldogs running back KJ McCoy is a redshirt freshman. Before attending the University of Georgia, McCoy attended East Georgia State College from 2017-2018.

He impressed during the 2019 spring game, when he gained 46 total yards on seven total touches. McCoy’s cousin, Isaiah, also walked on to the team in 2019.

McCoy played both football, basketball, and track at Swainsboro High School.

McCoy will be competing with Kendall Milton, Zamir White, James Cook, Kenny McIntosh, and more at the running back position. McCoy would surprise a lot of folks if he earned touches in Georgia’s very talented backfield. He’s projected to be primarily used as depth on the scout team next season.
