UFC Fight Night 197: Song Yadong vs. Julio Arce odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 197 odds and lines between Song Yadong vs. Julio Arce, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a bantamweight bout on the main card, Song Yadong meets Julio Arce Saturday at UFC Fight Night 197 – also known as UFC Vegas 42. Below, we analyze the UFC Fight Night 197 Yadong vs. Arce odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims at 1 p.m. ET and the main card at 4 p.m. ET.

Song has lost just once since arriving at the UFC level with a 6-1-1 record in the eight-fight span. He picked up a split-decision win over Casey Kenney last time out in Aug. at UFC 265. Each of his last four bouts went the distance.

Arce posted a second-round KO/TKO win over Andre Ewell his last time out July 24 on the Sandhagen-Dillashaw card. He has alternated wins and losses across his last four fights, winning the two bouts by KO/TKO, and losing the two bouts by split decision.

UFC Fight Night 197 Yadong vs. Arce: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Yadong (17-5-1) | Arce (17-4-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

YADONG (-140) is the play, as he has just been a lot more consistent since arriving in the UFC. He is 6-1-1 with four decisions, going 3-1 when the judges get involved. He also has two KO/TKO wins and a submission victory.

Arce has been inconsistent lately, although he has knockout power and Yadong will have to be careful of the big shot.

Over/Under (O/U)

YES (-180): FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE is a little pricey, but not terribly out of line. Yadong has needed the judges to decide his feat in each of his last four outings, while Arce has had two decisions in his last four.

As such, play YADONG ON POINTS (+130) for a good value.

UFC Fight Night 197: Miguel Baeza vs. Khaos Williams odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 197 odds and lines between Miguel Baeza vs. Khaos Williams, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a welterweight bout on the main card, Miguel Baeza meets Khaos Williams Saturday at UFC Fight Night 197 – also known as UFC Vegas 42. Below, we analyze the UFC Fight Night 197 Baeza vs. Williams odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims at 1 p.m. ET and the main card at 4 p.m. ET.

Baeza enters the octagon standing two inches taller than Williams, but he gives up 2.5 inches in reach. Baeza holds a slim 5.30-to-5.20 significant strikes landed per minute lead, with a 51.01-to-42.73 significant strikes accuracy percentage advantage.

Baeza lost to Santiago Ponzinibbio by unanimous decision his last time out in June, his first loss in four fights at the UFC level. His previous three fights ended as victories via stoppages, including two second-round knockouts.

Williams picked up a unanimous-decision win over Matthew Semelsberger his last time out in June. Like Baeza, Williams is 3-1 in four fights since arriving at the UFC level, with two first-round knockouts and a pair of decisions.

UFC Fight Night 197 Baeza vs. Williams: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:37 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Baeza -155 (bet $155 to win $100) | Williams +120 (bet $100 to win $120)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 rounds (Over -107 | Under -127)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes +130 | No -180)

UFC Fight Night 197 Baeza vs. Williams: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Baeza (10-1-0) | Williams (12-2-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

I like WILLIAMS (+120) for the slight upset here. These two fighters are very evenly matched, but Khaos is a better value, and I like his slight reach advantage to keep Baeza at bay and perhaps deliver a knockout victory.

As such, WILLIAMS BY KO/TKO (+225) is worth a small-unit play for a chance to more than double up.

Over/Under (O/U)

NO (-180): FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE is a little on the steep side, but it’s worth a look. Both of these guys have a high punch rate and are very energetic, not looking for the judges to decide their fate.

I also like a two-round block on WILLIAMS TO WIN IN ROUND 2 (+720) and WILLIAMS TO WIN IN ROUND 3 (+1500). Yes, you’ll lose one of the ends even if he wins in Rounds 2-3, but you’ll still be quite a bit ahead.

UFC Fight Night 197: Felicia Spencer vs. Leah Letson odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 197 odds and lines between Felicia Spencer vs. Leah Letson, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a women’s featherweight bout on the main card, Felicia Spencer meets Leah Letson Saturday at UFC Fight Night 197 – also known as UFC Vegas 42. Below, we analyze the UFC Fight Night 197 Spencer vs. Letson odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims at 1 p.m. ET and the main card at 4 p.m. ET.

Spencer, a.k.a. “FeeNom”, dropped each of her last two fights, including a tight bout at UFC 250 against Amanda Nunes in June 2020. She also was dropped via split-decision against Norma Dumont her last time out in May. Three of her last four fights have resulted in losses at the hands of the judges and she is just 2-3 since arriving at the UFC level.

Letson will be making her UFC debut. She posted a split-decision win over Julija Stoliarenko at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale Nov. 30, 2018. She has had a long layoff due to serious health issues, including digestive and thyroid issues, but has been cleared to resume her career.

UFC Fight Night 197 Spencer vs. Letson: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:23 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Spencer -380 (bet $380 to win $100) | Letson +270 (bet $100 to win $270)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 rounds (Over -240 | Under +165)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes -210 | No +150)

UFC Fight Night 197 Spencer vs. Letson: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Spencer (8-3-0) | Letson (5-2-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

Spencer (-340) will cost you over three times your potential return, and that’s still too risky despite the fact Letson hasn’t taken the walk to the octagon in nearly three full calendar years.

I am feeling SPENCER BY SUBMISSION (+255) as the play in this one. She has won four times by way of submission in 11 professional fights, and Letson hasn’t fought in three years. If she goes down to the canvas, how good will her defenses be after such a long hiatus?

Over/Under (O/U)

NO (+150): FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE is a solid value at plus money. Letson will be hard-pressed to last the whole time in the octagon in her first fight since late 2018. As mentioned above, I like Spencer to tap her out so UNDER 2.5 ROUNDS (+165) is also worth a look.

UFC Fight Night 197: Ben Rothwell vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 197 odds and lines between Rothwell vs. de Lima, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a heavyweight bout on the main card, Ben Rothwell meets Marcos Rogerio de Lima Saturday at UFC Fight Night 197 – also known as UFC Vegas 42. Below, we analyze the UFC Fight Night 197 Rothwell vs. Rogerio de Lima odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims at 1 p.m. ET and the main card at 4 p.m. ET.

Rothwell stands three inches taller than his counterpart, and he’ll look to use a three-inch reach advantage to keep Rogerio de Lima at bay. He also holds a 3.71-to-3.24 significant strikes landed per minute advantage.

Rothwell picked up a submission victory in the second round last time out over Chris Barnett in May and has won three of his last four fights. Five of his last seven fights went the distance.

de Lima earned a unanimous-decision victory over Maurice Greene his last time out in May and has alternated wins and losses across his last 10 fights. Just two of his 11 fights at the UFC level have gone the distance.

UFC Fight Night 197 Rothwell vs. de Lima: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Rothwell -175 (bet $175 to win $100) | Rogerio de Lima +135 (bet $100 to win $135)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 rounds (Over +120 | Under -165)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes +122 | No -170)

UFC Fight Night 197 Rothwell vs. de Lima: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Rothwell (39-13-0) | Rogerio de Lima (18-8-1)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

ROTHWELL (-175) is the play as the moderate favorite here, as de Lima has been too erratic lately. He hasn’t won two consecutive fights since he was victorious in a TUF fight and his first UFC bout in 2014.

The veteran Rothwell has 41 finishes across his 52 career professional bouts, but five of his last seven fights have gone the distance. ROTHWELL ON POINTS (+250) is worth a roll of the dice for a payout of two and a half times your potential return.

Over/Under (O/U)

Yes (+122): Fight to Go the Distance? is a value play based upon Rothwell’s recent history and a lack of stoppages. Rogerio de Lima also went the distance last time out.

In addition, OVER 2.5 ROUNDS (+122) has an identical price and is a better play just in case of a late finish in the third round. Why not give yourself a better chance to cash a ticket?

UFC Fight Night 197: Max Holloway vs. Yair Rodriguez odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 197 odds and lines between Max Holloway vs. Yair Rodriguez, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a featherweight fight in the main event, Max Holloway meets Yair Rodriguez Saturday at UFC Fight Night 197 – also known as UFC Vegas 42. Below, we analyze the UFC Fight Night 197 Holloway vs. Rodriguez odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the prelims at 1 p.m. ET and the main card at 4 p.m. ET.

Holloway bounced back from a pair of title-fight losses against Alexander Volkanovski when he pushed past Calvin Kattar in the main event last time out at a Fight Night main event in Jan. His last five fights went the distance.

Rodriguez earned a unanimous-decision win over Jeremy Stephens Oct. 18, 2019 in his last fight. He has dealt with an injury and a two-year suspension since that fight, so rust wouldn’t be a shock.

UFC Fight Night 197 Holloway vs. Rodriguez: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:37 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Holloway -800 (bet $800 to win $100) | Rodriguez +470 (bet $100 to win $470)
  • Over/Under: 3.5 rounds (Over -205 | Under +145)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes -117 | No -116)

UFC Fight Night 197 Holloway vs. Rodriguez: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Holloway (22-6-0) | Rodriguez (14-2-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

Holloway (-800) will cost you eight times your potential return, or just a $12.50 profit on a $100 wager.

PASS on the 2-way line and consider playing HOLLOWAY ON POINTS (-122) for the Method of Victory. While his last five fights have been decided by points, the concern here is the fact Rodriguez has been sidelined for so long that cardio could be an issue.

Over/Under (O/U)

YES (-117): FIGHT TO GO THE DISTANCE is the play, as I expect Holloway to get his arm raised after the judges award him the win on points.

In addition, OVER 3.5 ROUNDS (-205) is a little steep, but a strong play if you want a little wiggle room that guards against a possible late finish.
