Richt played and coached at Miami. He also coached at Florida State. What do all of Richt’s coaching and playing stops (outside of coaching at ECU in 1989) have in common?

Georgia, Florida State and Miami are all big-time rivals with the Florida Gators. Here’s Mark Richt’s message to Florida State and head coach Mike Norvell ahead of the Florida-Florida State game:

It’s great to see that Mark Richt still hates Florida. The Gators were a huge obstacle for him throughout his coaching career.

Christian Robinson, who played linebacker at Georgia from 2009-2012, is now the linebackers coach for the Auburn Tigers.

Robinson served as a graduate assistant at Georgia under Mark Richt from 2013-2014. Robinson also held a similar role at Ole Miss and Mississippi State before becoming the linebackers coach at Florida under Dan Mullen in 2018. Billy Napier and the Florida Gators moved on from Robinson following their bowl game.

Robinson recorded 159 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss during his career with Georgia. Robinson served as Florida’s interim defensive coordinator after the Gators lost to South Carolina this season. Robinson did not do enough for Napier to retain him.

The Auburn Tigers hired Robinson on Jan. 22. Auburn officially announced the move via Twitter:

Auburn is an excellent landing spot for Robinson, who will continue to coach in the SEC. Robinson will also be the defensive run game coordinator for the Tigers.

Georgia will wish Robinson well, but the Dawgs will not be cheering for the Tigers on Oct. 8 when Auburn comes to Athens.

Tim Tebow thinks Georgia football is just getting started

Former Florida QB Tim Tebow thinks that Georgia football will continue to be a contender for the next decade

Former Florida Gators star quarterback and ESPN college football analyst Tim Tebow thinks that Georgia football will continue to be a contender for the next decade following their national championship win over Alabama.

Tebow considers the 2021 Georgia defense to be one of the best of all-time. He notes how much Georgia improved since the SEC championship.

Georgia played lights out defensively in 2021 with the exception of the SEC championship loss to Alabama. In fact, the Bulldogs gave up 26.7% of their total points all season in the SEC championship.

Tebow additionally alludes to Georgia finally winning the big game. The former Florida quarterback believes that Georgia is in a perfect position to be successful over the next ten years.

Kirby Smart is an elite recruiter, Georgia is a great school, the Bulldogs have a passionate fan base, and UGA has very little in-state competition for recruits. This combination could be the foundation of something very special for Georgia. Kirby Smart is only 46 years old. He could be the head coach at Georgia for a long time.

Here’s Tebow’s full comments after Georgia won the national championship 33-18 against Alabama:

Billy Napier and the Florida Gators are moving on from their linebackers coach, Christian Robinson. Robinson, who played linebacker at Georgia from 2009-2012, is now looking for another coaching position.

Robinson served as a graduate assistant at Georgia under Mark Richt from 2013-2014. Robinson also held a similar role at Ole Miss and Mississippi State before becoming the linebackers coach at Florida in 2018.

Napier has decided on much of his support staff at Florida. Napier, the former Louisiana Lafayette football coach, will now focus on bringing in transfers and recruits to offset the large loss of talent that is leaving the program.

Christian Robinson recorded 159 tackles and 4.5 tackles during his career with Georgia. Robinson served as Florida’s interim defensive coordinator after the Gators lost to South Carolina this season. Robinson did not do enough for Napier to retain him on the staff.

Robinson thanked Florida in a Tweet. The Gators moved on from Robinson following their bowl game defeat to UCF:

It will be interesting to where Robinson decides to coach next. Robinson is one of many former Georgia Bulldogs in the college coaching ranks.

4-Star WR Chandler Smith is ready to commit

Four-star wide receiver recruit Chandler “CJ” Smith is ready to make a decision on where he will play college football

Four-star wide receiver recruit Chandler “CJ” Smith is ready to make a decision on where he will play college football. The talented wide receiver prospect will decide between Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Arkansas.

Smith is ranked the No. 224 recruit in the class of 2022. He plays high school football for Mt. Dora in Orlando, Florida. He is considered the No. 34 wide receiver in his class.

What separates Chandler Smith is his speed. Smith is one of the fastest players in the class of 2022.

The four-star wide receiver prospect runs track. Smith runs a blazing fast 100-meter dash. He ran a personal-best of 10.28 second this year, which is not far behind the fastest player on Georgia’s roster (Arian Smith, who runs track for UGA).

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs offered Smith a scholarship on May 5th. Chandler Smith, who is favored to commit to UGA, will be committing on Dec. 14 at noon EST.

Smith announced his commitment date and time via his Twitter account:

Chandler Smith originally committed to Florida, but decommitted from the Gators a few weeks after Florida fired head coach Dan Mullen.

You can’t teach Smith’s speed. He is an elite athlete. Smith has one of the best 200-meter times in the country.

Smith has earned several honors for being a great track and field athlete:

4-star WR Jayden Gibson decommits from Florida

Four-star wide receiver prospect Jayden Gibson has decommitted from the Florida Gators and may have UGA on his radar.

Four-star wide receiver prospect Jayden Gibson has decommitted from the Florida Gators and is reopening his recruitment.

Back in October, Jayden Gibson committed to Florida over Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, Miami, FSU and more.

The Bulldogs offered Jayden Gibson late in his recruiting cycle. Gibson, a member of the class of 2022, received an offer from UGA after four-star in-state wide receiver Kojo Antwi committed to Ohio State.

Gibson plays for West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida. The 6-foot-5, 185-pound receiver has taken visits to Florida, South Carolina, Auburn, Miami and more.

The West Orange wide receiver has good size and speed. He is a three-sport athlete who runs track and plays basketball.

Gibson is the No. 25 wide receiver in the class of 2022 and the No. 148 overall prospect. Georgia football has the second-ranked recruiting class of 2022. Florida has the No. 76 class of 2022.

The Gators fired former head coach Dan Mullen late in the season and are trying to salvage their class of 2022, but they are down to only seven commitments right now. Billy Napier and Florida have the worst-rated recruiting class in the SEC.

Gibson announced his decommitment from Florida via his Twitter account:

Florida has lost several commitments in recent weeks. Gibson may be considering the Georgia Bulldogs as an option, but he may want to wait beyond the early signing period before making his college decision.

Twitter roasts Florida football following another bad loss

Things are not looking pretty for Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators following a 40-17 loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Things are not looking pretty for coach Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators following a 40-17 loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Florida is now 4-5 on the season. The Gators move to fifth in the SEC East.  South Carolina moves to 5-4. The Gamecocks jumped out to a 30-10 lead at halftime. For the second consecutive week, Florida turned the ball over and gave up a defensive touchdown with under one minute left before halftime.

The pressure is ramping on Dan Mullen, who is coming off a successful 2020 season, but is 2-8 in his last 10 games against Power Five opponents.

Here’s how college football Twitter reacted to Florida’s latest blowout defeat:

4-star LB Shemar James decommits from Florida

Four-star linebacker recruit Shemar James has decommitted from the Florida Gators after a visit to UGA.

Four-star class of 2022 linebacker recruit Shemar James has decommitted from the Florida Gators. James originally picked the Gators on June 20, but has backed off his initial decision.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide were among the top contenders for James, who visited Georgia for the Kentucky game. The four-star outside linebacker prospect plays football for Faith Academy in Mobile, Alabama.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker is ranked the No. 10 linebacker in the country and the No. 70 overall recruit. James is the No. 4 player in Alabama.

It is always hard to win a recruiting battle for top in-state players against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

James plays wide receiver and outside linebacker. His team looks to get him the ball in space anyway it can. He sometimes lines up in the backfield. It is rare to see a wide receiver who plays defensive end/outside linebacker, but James has the size to star in both positions at the high school level.

James projects to be a pass rushing outside linebacker in college. He has excellent speed and could be a big-time difference maker in the SEC.

The four-star linebacker announced his decommitment via his Twitter account:

James was Florida’s top commitment in the class of 2022. The Gators have the 18th-ranked recruiting class in the country.

Will James be the latest player UGA has flipped? Or will the four-star linebacker commit to the Crimson Tide. Florida will still pursue James as well.

The LSU running back set a single-game rushing record for the Tigers. Davis-Price’s performance helped LSU defeat Florida 49-42.

Ty Davis-Price had 36 carries and averaged eight yards per attempt. He scored three rushing touchdowns too. Davis-Price entered the contest with only 288 rushing yards on the season. The Tigers did not display an elite rushing attack until they played Florida.

Georgia Bulldogs former player Herschel Walker dominated the Florida Gators during his career. Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

Ty Davis-Price’s 287 rushing yards is the most Florida has ever allowed to a single back. Florida’s previous high in rushing yards allowed came in 1980 to Georgia Bulldogs running back Herschel Walker. Walker ran for 238 yards in UGA’s win.

Davis-Price’s performance is not a good sign for the Florida Gators defense. Florida and Georgia both have bye weeks before facing each other on Oct. 30.

Georgia will heavily feature their rushing attack against the Gators. Can Florida slow down Georgia’s running game?
