Bills’ Sean McDermott hints defense could see changes without Matt Milano

#Bills’ Sean McDermott hints defense could see changes without Matt Milano:

Without Matt Milano, most would expect the Bills defense is going to look a bit different. Not only is a supreme talent out of the lineup, some inexperienced ones are in his place.

Milano went down with a knee/leg injury against the Jaguars, which will keep him sidelined for an extended period. A mix of rookie Dorain Williams and Tyrel Dodson replace Milano.

With game planning now underway for the Giants post 25-20 loss to the Jaguars, head coach Sean McDermott acknowledged differences were on the way.

“You always have to be sensitive to the players you have out there,” McDermott said.

Even in now taking on more responsibility, Dodson knows it could be difficult for him and Williams to be Milano. They really can’t be him.

“Next man up. You know, obviously it sucks,” Dodson told the Buffalo News. “Linebacker room, we tried to play for him. He covers so much ground, makes so many plays, so we’ll go back in the film room and see how we can make up for Lano (Milano).”

A second-straight day of intense Bills practice ensues

#Bills are leaving it all out on the practice field this week:

The Buffalo Bills are in the mood to mix it up at practice this week. The Pittsburgh Steelers might want to watch out.

Ahead of traveling to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers, the Bills had another day of workouts which saw tempers flare on Wednesday. That follows a Tuesday session which even saw quarterback Josh Allen get involved.

While reports all indicate it was not as fiery as the day prior, there were still a few moments worth mentioning. The most noteworthy tidbit to include is that there were some repeat offenders.

Like Tuesday, linebacker Tyrel Dodson and receiver Stefon Diggs got involved in some back-and-forth moments–but separately.

Dodson had some words for the offense and offensive lineman Dion Dawkins took exception to it, according to the Batavia Daily News. After some jawing, head coach Sean McDermott had a word with Dodson.

Regarding Diggs, there was a push between him and cornerback Taron Johnson. WKBW-TV notes Diggs threw the ball at Johnson after the defender took him to the ground on one occasion. The exchange quickly died down.

All in all, perhaps not as many fireworks as the day prior. No helmets were thrown.

Still, there’s something feisty in the water over at One Bills Drive this week.

That was not that case on Tuesday.

According to various media reports from the scene, there were multiple dust ups during the team’s practice. In different portions of those, the likes of Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and especially potential Tremaine Edmunds replacement, Tyrel Dodson, got involved in the festivities.
