Former Bills WR Trent Sherfield signs with Vikings

Former #Bills WR Trent Sherfield signs with #Vikings:

Trent Sherfield is moving onto the Minnesota Vikings.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Sherfield has headed to Minnesota. Sherfield spent the past season with the Buffalo Bills.

Per The Athletic, it’s another one-year deal for Sherfield worth $1.79 million.

It was anticipated Sherfield was set to get some depth targets in Buffalo last season but he never reached the numbers some might have thought he could have.

The 28-year-old had 11 catches for 86 yards and just one touchdown with the Bills.

Sherfield’s reported departure after Buffalo had signed two other wideouts, likely a sign the Bills were ready to move on from Sherfield. Mack Hollins and then Curtis Samuel signed in Buffalo this past week.

Full reaction of Dolphins’ Mike McDaniel on Trent Sherfield touchdown is priceless

The #Dolphins coach was stunned:

In all fairness, many of us made a certain type of face when Bills receiver Trent Sherfield scored against the Dolphins.

It was a tope-tapping, diving score, after a tipped pass from quarterback Josh Allen.

But the best of all faces certainly came from Mike McDaniel.

The Dolphins head coach was stunned seeing the score.

And in such a close game in the end, a 21-14 win for the Bills, who can blame him? Sherfield’s touchdown seemed to make him know what was bounce to happen in the end…

What we learned from the Bills’ win over the Dolphins

What we learned from the #Bills’ win over the #Dolphins:

The Buffalo Bills (11-6) successfully ran the table into the end of the regular season to secure a playoff spot after a rough start that saw them at 6-6 and on the outside of the playoff picture looking in.

Five straight wins later, and they are the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs and once more winners of the AFC East.

Buffalo’s start against Miami in the final game of the regular season was another ugly one that saw several turnovers in the first half.

After that, the Bills’ defense and depth players at positions on both sides of the ball stepped up, including an acrobatic heads-up touchdown by WR Trent Sherfield, a franchise record-long 95-yard punt return, and score by WR and return man Deonte Harty, and a game-sealing interception by S Taylor Rapp.

With that, here are three things we learned from Sunday’s win over the Dolphins:

Bills’ Trent Sherfield on stepping up with Josh Allen: ‘You can just see it in his eyes’

Sherfield on his role alongside Josh Allen vs. the Dolphins:

While no one wants a teammate to go down with an injury, Trent Sherfield coveted the opportunity he got in the Bills offense against the Dolphins in Week 18.

Starting receiver Gabe Davis went down with a knee injury. Upon leaving the contest, Sherfield stepped in and made a huge difference.

Sherfield caught a toe-tapping touchdown catch on a tipped pass. The final was a one-score game, a 21-14 win for the Bills.

Sherfield’s best game of the year included a season-high four targets. Having that run in the offense really meant something to him, you could tell that by the way Sherfield explained what it felt like to lineup alongside quarterback Josh Allen.

“It’s so dope, man. I have the privilege of obviously playing a little bit more today,” Sherfield said. “You can just see it in (Allen’s) eyes.”

And Allen expressed similar confidence in Sherfield too.

“That’s a heck of a catch. Former team that he was on so I know it means a lot to him,” Allen said via video conference. “It says a lot about the depth that we have and the character we have in this locker room.”

Sherfield’s full breakdown of his opportunity against the Dolphins can be found in the WROC-TV clip below:

Mike McDaniel’s flabbergasted reaction to Trent Sherfield’s absurd TD catch became a meme

Mike McDaniel was speechless after this incredible Bills touchdown.

NFL fans across the country are no doubt feeling the way Mike McDaniel felt in this moment on Sunday Night Football.

In the final game of Week 18, the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins took to the stage to cap off a wild and unpredictable NFL regular season. Being the final game of the regular season, shenanigans were no doubt around the corner and in the second quarter, the Bills delivered what might be the most bonkers touchdown of the season.

Down 7-0 and facing a second and goal from the Dolphins’ six-yard line, Josh Allen dropped back for a pass that ended up being deflected by Miami’s defensive line. However, the deflection was able to stay up long enough for Trent Sherfield to get under the ball and snag it while dragging both of his feet in bounds for the score!

What a catch! Sherfield’s snag not only stunned the home Dolphins crowd, but Miami head coach McDaniel was completely mind-blown after that touchdown.

An understandable reaction to that incredible catch. NFL fans then turned McDaniel’s mind-blown reaction to Sherfield’s touchdown into a meme.
