Where does Alabama’s offensive line rank in college football according to PFF?

Will Alabama have the best offensive line in the country in 2024?

We all know that if you want to compete for a championship at any level of football, you better be sound up front along the offensive line. Fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide football program saw that up close and personal during the dominant run by [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] in Tuscaloosa.

It’s only logical that one question that Crimson Tide fans have had this offseason as Kalen DeBoer prepares Alabama for his first season as the head coach is whether or not the offensive line will continue to be a strength of the program.

According to Max Chadwick of PFF College, Alabama may just have the best offensive line in the country this fall.

Chadwick points to the presence of [autotag]Tyler Booker[/autotag], [autotag]Parker Brailsford[/autotag], and [autotag]Jaeden Roberts[/autotag] in the interior of the line as the strength of the group.

The Crimson Tide takes the top spot because they have one of the most loaded interior offensive lines in recent memory.

The growth of [autotag]Kadyn Proctor[/autotag] at left tackle throughout the 2023 season should also give Tide fans hope.

They also return sophomore left tackle Kadyn Proctor, who transferred from Alabama to Iowa and back to Alabama, all in a span of three months. The former top-10 recruit’s freshman season was a roller coaster, as he earned a 76.3 PFF grade in the final seven games after posting a 54.5 mark in the first seven.

There is no denying the fact that Proctor, Booker, Brailsford, and Roberts make up a fantastic group, but there are still question marks at right tackle entering the 2024 season with Elijah Pritchett and Wilkin Formby competing for the final spot.

If Alabama can just have adequate production at right tackle, there is no reason this group couldn’t be among the best in the country this season.

What adding Geno VanDeMark means to the Alabama offensive line

Alabama has solidified the interior of its offensive line with the addition of Geno VanDeMark

On Saturday afternoon, former Michigan State offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark announced his commitment to Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

With the addition of VanDeMark, Coach DeBoer and the Tide have made one of the more impressive overall hauls from this cycle of the transfer portal. VanDeMark is the second offensive lineman to join the Tide in the spring portal window alongside Kadyn Proctor who briefly spent time with the Iowa Hawkeyes before deciding to return to Alabama.

So where exactly does VanDeMark fit along the Crimson Tide offensive line? As an interior guy, I wouldn’t expect him to surpass what Alabama has returned there with [autotag]Tyler Booker[/autotag] and Jaeden Roberts holding down each guard spot and Washington transfer [autotag]Parker Brailsford[/autotag] anchoring the line at center. But he will provide some much-needed depth and experience, something the Crimson Tide is sorely lacking especially with the sudden departure of James Brockermeyer.

The most likely scenario is that VanDeMark will play the backup role for all three interior spots along the offensive line and serve as the Tide’s sixth man upfront.

With VanDeMark now in the mix, Alabama’s question marks along the offensive line are quickly disappearing.

Way-too-early 2025 NFL draft features one Alabama player

Though we are a full year away, see which Alabama football player is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft!

The 2024 NFL draft just concluded, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t look ahead to see what may be in store for the 2025 draft. One way-too-early mock done by USA TODAY’s Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz has a single Alabama Crimson Tide football player in the first round.

Though many would expect to see quarterback Jalen Milroe earn a first-round projection, Middlehurst-Schwartz only has offensive lineman Tyler Booker being selected in the first 32 picks.

At No. 30 overall in this mock draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select offensive lineman Tyler Booker.

“It might not be long before the two-time depending champions embrace a shift on the interior as they sort out the financial futures of guards Joe Thuney and Trey Smith and center Creed Humphrey, with the latter two set to enter the final year of their contracts. The massively powerful Booker could step in to fill a hole at guard while creating some of his own in the run game.”

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football players who are prospects for the 2025 NFL draft.

Alabama’s Tyler Booker speaks to relationship with Washington transfer Parker Brailsford

Tyler Booker’s leadership exemplified when asked about Washington transfer Parker Brailsford

Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team completed their 13th spring practice on Tuesday afternoon from Tuscaloosa leading up to the annual A-Day Game which will take place this Saturday, April 13 from inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Following Tuesday’s events, Crimson Tide players were made available to the media, including veteran offensive lineman Tyler Booker.

Booker was asked about Washington transfer center, Parker Brailsford who followed Coach DeBoer from Seattle to Tuscaloosa. Despite just arriving in January, Brailsford has spent a large portion of the spring away from the team for what can be described as personal reasons.

When asked about his relationship with Brailsford, Booker responded like a true leader.

“I love that guy,” Booker said. “That’s my brother. Just being able to be there for him in a time like this is very crucial. I told him whatever he needs, I’m there for him. He’s a brother now. He’s part of this Alabama brotherhood. I’ll treat him as such.”

The exact reason for Brailsford’s absence has not been released to the public but Coach DeBoer did speak on the young man following this past weekend’s scrimmage.

“Parker’s just going through some non-football related things,” DeBoer said. “He’s gonna be with us. He’s working out with our strength staff and done a great job there. He’s never done anything wrong. It’s nothing like that. He’s working hard. He’s gonna be ready to go here sooner than later. Just taking it day by day.”

While a timetable has not been set for Brailsford to make his return, it appears he will have to battle James Brockermeyer as the anchor of the Alabama offensive line.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the progress of the Crimson Tide as spring football continues.

Alabama football set to have one of the most dominant O-Line’s in CFB next year

Alabama football projected to have one of the best lines in CFB in 2024 per PFF College

As everyone already knows, things in Tuscaloosa are going to look much different this fall with the legendary [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] no longer on the sideline. Despite all of the changes coming to the football program in 2024, one thing that will not change is winning.

Alabama’s new head coach [autotag]Kalen DeBoer[/autotag] is already one of the three or four best coaches in the sport as he has posted a 25-3 record over the past two years with a national championship appearance, a Sugar Bowl victory and a Pac-12 title with the Washington Huskies. Now, with the resources available to him in the SEC, it will be fun to see what he can do.

With Saban’s departure, there was of course going to be some roster turnover and coaching changes. However, things shook out as well as they probably could have as DeBoer was able to assemble an outstanding staff. It certainly helps that QB [autotag]Jalen Milroe[/autotag] is staying in town and has a solid offensive line in front of him. The pieces to the puzzle are there.

In fact, Alabama’s offensive line may be one of the best units in all of college football – specifically on the interior. [autotag]Tyler Booker[/autotag] and [autotag]Jaeden Roberts[/autotag] were both key contributors for the Tide as Guard’s in 2023, so it is massive to get them back. The addition of C [autotag]Parker Brailsford[/autotag] from Washington is the one that Alabama fans are excited about after some major snapping woes a season ago. A great offensive line and Heisman candidate quarterback alone tells me the Tide will be in the thick of the Playoff hunt in 2024.

Tyler Booker named SEC offensive lineman of the week

Alabama’s offensive line stepped up in a big way to help the Tide defeat Ole Miss. Tyler Booker named top OL in the SEC.

Alabama football’s win over Ole Miss at home eased the worries of a lot of fans who believed this roster was destined to lead the program to the worst season in the Nick Saban era. One of the biggest concerns with the team heading into Week 4 was the offensive line. The unit stepped up in a big way.

Headlining the offensive line’s performance for the Crimson Tide was Tyler Booker. He was recognized by the SEC as the top lineman of the week within the whole conference.

The line will be tested again in Week 5 as the Tide will travel to Starkville to take on Mississippi State.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football as the 2023 college football season continues.

Nick Saban provides an update on a pair of injured starters

Nick Saban updates the status of Tyler Booker and Jaheim Oatis ahead of matchup with Ole Miss

In Alabama’s sloppy 17-3 win over the South Florida Bulls this past weekend, the Crimson Tide was without a pair of its starters due to injuries. Offensive lineman [autotag]Tyler Booker[/autotag] and defensive lineman [autotag]Jaheim Oatis[/autotag] each missed the road game in Tampa and their presence was sorely missed.

On Wednesday, as Alabama continues its preparation for the 2023 SEC opener against Ole Miss this Saturday, head coach of the Crimson Tide [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] would speak to members of the media and among other items, would update the status of both Booker and Oatis and it appears to be good news for the super sophomore duo.

“Tyler Booker is practicing, and so is Jaheim Oatis. They haven’t had issues. That doesn’t mean they’re still not day-to-day in terms of coming back and getting over injuries, but they are practicing.”

Having Booker and Oatis back will certainly provide a much-needed boost to both sides of the line of scrimmage for the Crimson Tide against the Rebels.

Stay tuned to Roll Tide Wire for more coverage on Alabama’s SEC opener against Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels.

Tyler Booker’s move back to left guard explained by Nick Saban

Coach Saban is moving guys around on the offensive line

On Saturday, [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama football wrapped up their final scrimmage of fall camp, and later this week, once classes begin on campus in Tuscaloosa,  the Tide will enter into game week mode and begin to prepare for their Sept. 2 season opener against Middle Tennessee State.

With the struggles that have come at that position group over the past couple of seasons, it’s obvious why so many folks are fascinated with the offensive line, most notably the left side. Following Saturday’s scrimmage, Coach Saban confirmed that some changes had been made to help accommodate the youth and inexperience on the left side of the offensive line.

“I think it’s made a lot of improvement,” Saban said of the left side of the offensive line. “Basically, we moved some guys around to try and get a balance of experience a little bit more. (Booker) played left guard last year. He was playing right guard, but we moved him back to left guard. I think that’s helped the left tackles who are less experienced, somebody that’s got more experience, more confidence, can make calls, can help them with their communication.

“That doesn’t mean it’s the way it’s going to be, but that’s one thing that has helped, to some degree, on that side of the line.”

It’s beginning to look like true freshman Kadyn Proctor has locked down the left tackle position, but Terrence Ferguson, who is also an inexperienced player who has worked exclusively at left guard and center, was on the verge of winning the left guard spot over veteran Darrian Dalcourt. With the move of Booker from right to left, Dalcourt now has emerged as a possible starter at right guard since he does have game experience there.

I believe it is safe to say we could see musical offensive linemen, especially early on in this season while to coaches discover which five make up the best starting unit.

Tyler Booker excited about Alabama’s run-first mentality

Tyler Booker is ready to “make people quit” in Alabama’s run-first mentality offense!

[autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama football team are a few days into fall camp 2023 and already an identity is beginning to form. On Sunday, Coach Saban preached on creating the right habits, and on Monday sophomore offensive lineman [autotag]Tyler Booker[/autotag] carried that message as well.

Despite only entering his second season with the Crimson Tide, Booker has made it clear that he is one of the leaders on the team both vocally and by example.

When speaking to the media on Monday, Booker expressed how he wanted this offensive line to look like this fall and what it would take to get there. Here are some of Booker’s best quotes from Monday’s press conference:

Alabama football countdown to kickoff: 52 days

We are only Tyler Booker days away from the start of Alabama’s 2023 football season!

The Alabama Crimson Tide will take the field for the 2023 college football season in 52 days, as Middle Tennessee State visits Bryant Denny Stadium on Sept. 2.

Here at Roll Tide Wire, we will be counting down the days until Nick Saban and his team take the field.

Today, with just 52 days remaining, we will take a look at the current Tide player who wears No. 52, rising sophomore offensive lineman, Tyler Booker.

Book is set to be Alabama’s starter at right guard this fall and has All-American potential from that spot. Booker plays with a mean streak and is already one of the leaders on the Alabama offense.
