Defensive lineman Tyleik Williams loses black stripe

A new member of the rushmen was announced Wednesday with Tyleik Williams losing his black stripe.

Maybe the loss to the Ducks on Saturday stirred some emotion. Black stripes are being shed left and right. The latest member to do so is freshman defensive lineman Tyleik Williams.

Williams was listed as a four-star recruit according to 247Sports, hailing from Manassas, Virginia. This young man is described as explosive with room to grow. Coaches seem pretty excited about how much Williams is improving every day.

Williams shared with his teammates after being announced he had lost his black stripe Wednesday.

“I just want to thank ya’ll for welcoming me into the brotherhood, Williams said. “The O-linemen for getting me better every day. The rushmen for bringing me up, motivating me. Coach J (Larry Johnson) for believing in me. Go Bucks!”

We’re not sure how much time Willams will get this season, but he certainly has the skill to make an impact in years to come.

Ohio State 2021 commit Tyleik Williams nabs invite to All-American Bowl

Ohio State 2021 defensive tackle commit Tyleik Williams has received an invite to play in the All-American Bowl.

We’ve seen a parade of Ohio State commits over the last few years make it to the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, and it looks like the upcoming game won’t be any different.

As of today, there are a total of nine Ohio State commitments for the 2021 class scheduled to play in the All-American Bowl. That ties the 2020 class for the most the Buckeyes have ever had appear in the game, and the record could very well be broken soon.

Not only are there a few big fish still out there that commit to Ohio State and play in the game, but it looks recent four-star defensive tackle commit Tyleik Williams apparently just received an invite. If he were to accept, that would bring the total to a record ten with still another one or two possible.

There’s no word on whether Williams will accept the invite yet or not, but if he does, we’ll let you know.

Ohio State football lands four-star 2021 defensive tackle out of Virginia

Ohio State landed four-star 2021 defensive tackle prospect Tyleik Williams out of Manassas, Virginia Thursday. It makes 19 for the class.

Ohio State is back on top of the team recruiting rankings once again. After briefly falling behind Alabama for the top-ranked class for 2021, the Buckeyes gained a commitment from four-star defensive tackle Tyleik Williams on Thursday that will vault it back to No. 1.

Williams took to Twitter Thursday evening to pledge his commitment to the Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. Assistant coaches Larry Johnson and Al Washington have been instrumental in bringing home the No. 10 rated defensive tackle and top 200 overall prospect in the class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

By picking Ohio State, it now gives the program a total of 19 commitments for the class as it looks to add the final touches on a class that should still be able to add more as long as all the guidance and decision-makers with the NCAA don’t throw a wrench in things with how the fall postponement affects scholarship numbers.

Williams chose the Buckeyes over a top-six of Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Four-star Ohio State defensive tackle target sets decision date

Tyleik Williams, a four-star defensive tackle prospect out of Virginia, has set his decision date. Ohio State is favored to land him.

Seems like all year long we’re on the prowl for pending commitments and news when it comes to Ohio State football recruiting, and it’s definitely no different during a global pandemic. If anything else, there’s more focus on it because nobody really knows when we’ll see real, live football in the Big Ten again.

With that in mind, there’s a commitment that could be coming soon for Ohio State’s 2021 class and it comes in the way of a four-star defensive tackle prospect out of Manassas, Virginia.

Six-foot, 317-pound Tyleik Williams is ranked as the No. 10 defensive tackle in the 2021 class and is considered a top 200 prospect overall according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

And, Williams just announced a commitment date on his Twitter profile Monday night. According to his tweet, he’ll be letting the world know his school of choice on Thursday, August 27 at 5:00 PM, and it could be a Boom! coming for the Buckeyes.
