10 prospects at the 2024 Senior Bowl who could interest the Jaguars

Which prospect at the 2024 Senior Bowl has the best chance at being a Jaguars draft pick?

Draft season’s kickoff event is this week in Mobile, Ala. where scouts, coaches, and decision-makers from all 32 teams will gather to watch all-stars from across the country.

While the 2024 Senior Bowl is set for Feb. 3, the real action begins Tuesday when the players hit the practice field. That’s where many of the top prospects of the draft class will line up across from each other for one-on-one drills and get work with NFL coaches.

It could also be an opportunity for the Jacksonville Jaguars to fall in love with a player they end up picking in April.

Last year, Oklahoma State defensive lineman Tyler Lacy was among the prospects who participated in the Senior Bowl. About three months later, the Jaguars made him the No. 130 pick of the 2023 NFL draft.

With Senior Bowl week just getting started, here are 10 participants who could catch the Jaguars’ eye:

From Missouri CB Kris Abrams-Draine to Texas DT T’Vondre Sweat, 10 players to watch on the Reese’s Senior Bowl American team’s defense

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is here and Mobile is going to be rocking with the 100+ NFL draft prospects coming into South Alabama’s Hancock Whitney Stadium.

Vikings Wire will have boots on the ground as managing editor Tyler Forness will be there in person to watch these players duke it out in front of scouts and analysts alike.

On the American team, the biggest names are on the offensive side of the ball, but this is a homage to the top names on the defensive side.

Jaguars mock drafts: 9 prospects experts say could be the pick

There’s no consensus for what the Jaguars should do with the No. 17 pick, but a few prospects are standing out as good options.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will pick 17th in the 2024 NFL draft, but there isn’t much consensus about which direction the team should take.

At nflmockdraftdatabase.com, no one player has been paired with the Jaguars in more than 11 percent of the nearly 500 projections of the draft they’ve surveyed so far.

Still, there are a few needs that jump out as the potential top priority for the Jaguars in the offseason. Namely, the offensive and defensive lines, as well as wide receiver and cornerback.

With the draft now three months away, there are a group of prospects who experts have projected to be the likeliest candidates to be the Jaguars’ pick in April:

Purple Daily on Draft: Vikings DL prospects and mock draft

There are plenty of defensive line prospects for the Minnesota Vikings. Purple Daily on Draft discusses that and Tyler Forness’ mock draft.

The Minnesota Vikings have multiple different directions that they can go this offseason.

One of the directions that they can go is on the defensive line. There are a bunch of prospects that are intriguing and the hosts take fan questions about them. Is there one that would be the archetype of Aaron Donald? Is Texas NT T’Vondre Sweat a guy who can take the Vikings’ defensive line to a new level?

To finish up the show, the guy discuss Tyler Forness’ mock draft which took a different direction than the majority of mock drafts that have surfaced since the start of the year. Forness had the Vikings taking LSU WR Malik Nabers which feels more like a need pick than anything. How would it work taking a wide receiver? What is the situation that would allow them to take Nabers?

All of that and more on the latest episode of Purple Daily on Draft, dropping every Monday afternoon on the Purple Daily YouTube channel.

Vikings select star DT in surprising Daniel Jeremiah mock draft

The Minnesota Vikings selected Texas DT Byron Murphy II in NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah’s first mock draft of the 2024 NFL Draft cycle.

The Minnesota Vikings are an interesting team to draft for in 2024 NFL mock drafts. They have needs all over that could be justified with a first round pick. One of those is defensive tackle and that is the direction that NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah went in his first mock draft of the cycle.

At the 11th overall pick, the Minnesota Vikings selected Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy II. Not only is he a talented player, but the Vikings would have two Byron Murphy’s on their roster. Here is what Jeremiah had to say about Murphy’s selection.

I believe Murphy is the top defensive tackle in the class. The Vikings need to add more firepower up front.

Murphy was on one of the best defensive fronts in the country next to T’Vondre Sweat and was a force in both the running game and passing game. Is he worth a selection that high? That can be debated but Jeremiah usually knows a thing or two and this should be taken seriously.
