WATCH: TreVeyon Henderson scamper 68-yards against Penn State

Watch TreVeyon Henderson run for a 68-yard run to set up an Ohio State Score. #GoBucks

The Penn State defense had been doing a pretty good job of keeping the Ohio  State running game in check. Freshman phenom, TreVeyon Henderson was finding it hard to find any room to run, being held to under a yard per carry.

That was until midway through the third quarter when Henderson got loose. The offensive line gave the running back all the crease he would need, he then gave a little shimmy, and was off to the races. Henderson would get down to the 1-yard line and get into the endzone two plays later.

Watch as No. 32 pulls away only to be caught by a Lion defender who had a good angle.

That was Henderson’s 13th rushing touchdown of the season, inching closer to breaking Maurice Clarett’s freshman touchdown record.

Ohio State vs. Indiana halftime review: 3 takeaways

What are the three biggest takeaways from Ohio State’s performance against Indiana at the half?

The Ohio State Buckeyes are taking it to the Indiana Hoosiers in impressive fashion and if you put any money on Ohio State at all you must be feeling pretty good right now. I have to give props to my fellow writers on Buckeyes Wire who identified this as an easy win, because I fell for the classic Indiana trap storyline and thought this would be a contest. Instead, OSU is up 44-7 at the half and doing about everything it wants on offense.

Now I will say, the Hoosiers look much different with a healthy Michael Penix Jr. under center and they would probably look slightly more competitive with a healthy Jack Tuttle, but this is football and injuries are all part of the game. I want to dive into the three things that have most interested me so far this game and they are actually all positive.

Next…TreVeyon Henderson the GOAT?

Watch: TreVeyon Henderson powers through tackles on receiving touchdown

Another TD for TreVeyon Henderson, this time through the air in a blend of power and speed. #GoBucks

Ohio State has the offense cranked up early against Indiana on the road and freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson is in the middle of all the fun.

Henderson already rumbled 21-yards for a touchdown to give Ohio State the lead 14-7, but he’s followed that up with a receiving touchdown that showed a combination of speed and power.

Watch below as quarterback C.J. Stroud delivers a swing pass to Henderson who turns upfield, keeps his balance through an attempted arm tackle, then cuts his way towards the end zone before running through a couple of would-be tacklers on his way to a 14-yard touchdown. It’s the type of skill set that has made the college football world stand up and notice what Henderson adds to the offense for Ohio State.

It’s beginning to look like Indiana might have to try and keep up with the Ohio State offense by scoring a ton of points. That just doesn’t look to be in the cards today unless something changes drastically.

WATCH: TreVeyon Henderson scamper in for a touchdown against Indiana

Watch TreVeyon Henderson go 21 yards to give Ohio State the lead back. #GoBucks

The Ohio State offensive line is opening up gaping holes for the running backs early in the Indiana game. Thayer Munford and Paris Johnson Jr. gave TreVeyon Henderson a clear path to the endzone for the second Buckeye touchdown of the day.

The line opened up a hole for Miyan Williams on the first Ohio State drive of the game that gave the Buckeyes the lead. The OSU offense is humming and it all starts with the guys in the trenches.

Look for the Buckeyes to continue dominating at the line of scrimmage as the No. 1 rated offense in the country tries to keep pace with the rest of the top teams in the nation and work its way back into the College Football Playoff.

Watch Henderson’s scamper below.

The Buckeyes are on the move again and looking to add more to the scoreboard on this rainy night in Bloomington.

Five reasons Ohio State beats Indiana Saturday

Five reasons why the Ohio State #Buckeyes beat the Indiana Hoosiers!

The Ohio State Buckeyes are currently sitting at 5-1 with no losses inside the Big Ten. They are coming off a bye week into a prime-time match-up against the Indiana Hoosiers who sit at 2-4 and are dealing with injuries. Indiana may be having a rougher season than expected, but they do get to host Ohio State in Bloomington, Indiana, in the unfriendly confines of Memorial Stadium with 50,000 screaming fans.

Honestly, we all know there’s going to be a slew of Buckeye fans in the stands, but it won’t matter because everyone will be wearing red. Ohio State is almost a three-touchdown favorite over Indiana and I think the Buckeyes will win, but this spread is high for a team that almost came away with the upset last season and is extremely well coached.

With that said here are five main reasons Ohio State will win.

WATCH: C.J. Stroud hits TreVeyon Henderson for 26-yard pitch and catch

Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud threw his third touchdown pass of the first half vs. Maryland when he found running back TreVeyon Henderson.

Ohio State just keeps on rolling on offense against the Maryland Terrapins in the ‘Shoe Saturday, and the latest is yet another touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud. It’s been an offensive attack that has spread it around so far, and this time, Stroud found running back TreVeyon Henderson for a 26-yard catch and run to paydirt.

Henderson hasn’t wiggled free on the ground as we’ve seen over the last few weeks, but the coaching staff is still finding ways to get him the ball in space out on the outside in the passing game. He has four catches for 67-yards and a touchdown.

Watch as Stroud picks out the correct option by checking down to Henderson and letting him do the rest of the work, dashing to the endzone with bad intentions.

TreVeyon Henderson added to Maxwell Award watch list

The first of many recognitions for running back TreVeyon Henderson no doubt.

Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson is starting to turn some heads with what he’s been able to do as a freshman in Columbus. Things started out somewhat slow with Henderson splitting carries with Miyan Williams and Master Teague, but now he looks to be option No. 1 in the backfield and he has not disappointing.

In fact, Henderson is third in rushing yards in the Big Ten with far fewer carries. He has only rushed the ball 54 times, but gained 510 yards on the ground, a whopping 9.4 yards per carry average that ranks second for all players in the FBS with at least 50 rushing attempts.

And now, because of his exploits on the field, Henderson was one of ten names added to the Maxwell Award watchlist on Wednesday. He joins fellow Buckeyes Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson along with 89 other names of an award that goes to the player judged to be the best in college football annually.

We’ll have to see if any of the trio of Buckeyes can do enough to be considered for the award, and we’ll also be on the lookout to see if quarterback C.J. Stroud gets his name eventually added.

The award is one of several awards handed out during the ESPN Home Depot College Awards show on December 9.

Five things we think we learned from Ohio State’s victory over Rutgers

What a performance by Ohio State. Here are five things we think we learned from the dismantling of Rutgers.

What a difference a couple of weeks make. The Ohio State football team was left for dead when it lost to Oregon and then struggled against Tulsa. And to be fair, the criticism was justified and real. There were clear issues on both sides of the ball that needed to be corrected.

Against Akron, and even more importantly against Rutgers Saturday, the Buckeyes look like a much-improved bunch moving in the right direction. Remember, Michigan got all it could handle from the Scarlet Knights.

There were a lot of big plays on both sides of the ball, and there’s plenty to take away from a very, very impressive 52-13 performance on the road.

Here are five things that stood out as we watched the Buckeyes dismantle Rutgers on Saturday afternoon.

NEXT … Is the comparison real?

Well, that didn’t take long. Ohio State was left with excellent field position after Rutgers decided to try a fake punt from the OSU 48 on their opening drive. After connecting with Jeremy Ruckert on a short gain, C.J. Stroud put the ball in the hands of freshman phenom TreVeyon Henderson and he was off to the races.

Henderson made one cut and ran 44 yards to paydirt leaving a trail of Scarlet Knights in his wake, and giving the Buckeyes a 7-0 lead just under three minutes into the game. Henderson continues to be special for the Bucks in his young career.

Watch Henderson break free on the run below.

TreVeyon Henderson picks up pair of weekly Big Ten football honors

Henderson racks up the Big Ten football awards for his record-breaking performance against Tulsa. #GoBucks

After a record-breaking performance against Tulsa, Ohio State freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson has been named to a couple of Big Ten football weekly honors. The Hopewell, Virginia native was not only named the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Week, but also shared Offensive Player of the Week honors with Michigan State quarterback Payton Thorne.

To say that Henderson had a breakout performance would be an understatement. All Henderson did was break Archie Griffin’s 49-year record for the most single-game rushing yards by a freshman by racking up 277 yards and three touchdowns. It could be the beginning of a very distinguished career on the Banks of the Olentangy.

For Ohio State, Henderson winning the Freshman of the Week Award continues the trend in 2021. The Buckeyes have taken home the honor each of the first three weeks they’ve played. Quarterback C.J. Stroud received notoriety the last two weeks.
