Breaking: Trever Jackson commits to Florida State

Trever Jackson commits to Florida State.

Trever Jackson gave a commitment to Florida State on Wednesday, adding yet another four-star talent to a top-10 class for the Seminoles.

A class of 2024 quarterback from Jones High School (Orlando, Florida), Jackson completed 55.4 percent of his passes for 916 yards his senior season. He had seven passing touchdowns.

Jackson also had 855 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the season. He checks in at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds.

Jackson had a solid offer list that included Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Miami, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and UCLA among others. Rivals ranks him as a four-star recruit and the No. 23 pro-style quarterback in the nation.

News of Jackson’s commitment was broken by ON3’s Hayes Fawcett:

He is the second quarterback commitment for Florida State in this recruiting class, joining Luke Kromenhoek (a four-star quarterback who is ranked the No. 35 overall recruit in the nation).

The 2024 recruiting class for Florida State came into the day ranked No. 7 in the nation by 247Sports.

2024 4-Star QB out of Florida places Texas A&M in his Top 4 program list

Ahead of his Aug. 26 announcement, 2024 4-Star QB Trever Jackson has placed Texas A&M among his Top 4 program list.

No matter how deep a program’s quarterback room looks ahead of each impending season, the growing popularity of the uncapped transfer portal places added pressure on the coaching staff to quickly develop and start high-ranking prospects before they opt for more suitable opportunities.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class is now 20 players deep, including two quarterback commits made of four-stars Miles O’Neill and Anthony Maddox, two of the cycle’s more talented prospects. Going into the 2023 season, the Aggies’ current QB room is led by sophomore Conner Weigman and senior southpaw Max Johnson, both battling for the starting postion this fall, while freshman duel-threat Marcel sits comfortably as the third option.

Relatively comfortable at the postion recruiting-wise, Fisher still has his eyes on one 2024 four-star signal caller, as quarterback Trever Jackson recently placed the Aggies in his Top 4 program list on Monday afternoon, joining Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and UCLA. Jackson is set to announce his commitment on Saturday, Aug. 26.

Standing at 6-3 and 185 pounds, Jackson is a true duel-threat QB with impressive arm strength, above-average accuracy, and great instincts in the pocket with the ability to make plays out of structure. After offering him in late April, Fisher and his staff have presumably been in consistent contact with Jackson throughout the summer. However, his only visit to College Station was on June 9 during one of Fisher’s annual football camps.

According to 247Sports Composite, Jackson is currently positioned as the 15th-ranked quarterback in the cycle and the 32nd-ranked player in Florida.

Oklahoma 2024 prospects expected at ‘Party At The Palace’

Oklahoma set to host multiple 2024 recruits and commits for the Party at the Palace.

Oklahoma’s had a busy July to follow up a June full of official visits. July was about constructing their recruiting board for 2025 and 2026 as the 2024 class determines their future.

With so many Oklahoma targets for the 2024 recruiting class stopping by in June for official visits, it significantly decreased the likelihood that July would see nearly as much traffic. And while that may be true, this weekend’s Party at the Palace is still significant and a notable follow-up from Oklahoma’s ‘Sooners under the Sun’ underclassmen event that took place in the middle of the week. That event has already netted a pair of 2025 commitments from defensive tackle Ka’Mori Moore and four-star wide receiver Elijah Thomas.

For [autotag]Party at the Palace[/autotag], the 2024 class is back in the spotlight as more than 10 2024 prospects are expected to be in the building over the weekend. Several players are already committed, and the Sooners are hoping to use the event to move the needle with their uncommitted players. We took the liberty of highlighting who has been confirmed to be in Norman for the event.

Oklahoma will have the luxury of having multiple 2024 commits in the building to help with their recruiting efforts. [autotag]Michael Hawkins[/autotag] and [autotag]Isaiah Autry[/autotag] can help with the recruitment of three-star offensive lineman [autotag]Josh Aisosa[/autotag] and four-star offensive tackle [autotag]Grant Brix[/autotag]. Defensively, Jaydan Hardy can help with the recruitments of [autotag]Eli Bowen[/autotag], [autotag]C.J. Jackson[/autotag], and [autotag]Michael Boganowski[/autotag] and get in the ear of three-star safety [autotag]Mykel Patterson-McDonald[/autotag], who plans to announce his commitment on July 31st. He’ll be deciding between Oklahoma, Houston, and UNLV.

In-state talent [autotag]Danny Okoye[/autotag] has had a compelling recruitment. He’s been offered by some of college football’s elite, including Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State. With Oklahoma still looking to build a historic class along the defensive line, knocking this visit out of the park would help go a long way.

Party at the Palace could provide the last springboard Oklahoma needs to help solidify its place in the recruitments of several 2024 guys as prospects prepare to lock in for their final high school seasons. This event also marks the last major recruiting event of the offseason for Oklahoma. The calendar gives way to fall camp in preparation for the [autotag]2023 college football season[/autotag].
